  1. Has anyone changed from a 16mm sway bar to 18mm? I bought an 18mm one to swap over thinking mine was 18mm because it's quite rusty and pretty much about to fail, but it turns out the original on the car is 16mm. The car is in the shop for a front end alignment and gave them the new sway bar to replace, but according to them the mounting on the subframe for the 16mm and 18mm is different and the new one doesn't fit. Is this true, i thought lupo/arosa subframes were all the same. I understand that it would require new bushings and drop links, but somehow i doubt the mountings on the front subframe are different for the sway bar. Can anyone shed some light?
  2. I know it can be done, don't know how to tbh, but vag tacho should work fine. I've used the cheap chinese ones before on other cars with immo 1, took the pin out no problem but the cables are not very durable so to say. So this time i just bought the immo box and old key to make life easier. Now have to get ignition timing set but man you can feel the difference car runs great. Hopefully with the 4 branch manifold new exhaust should hit the 140hp mark.
  3. Not sure, vag tacho should work fine for immo 1 and 2, if not vag commander or just de solder the chip and use a programmer to read it. I used the box that was paired with the ECU because it came out cheaper than buying vag tacho :D.
  4. The pin code from the immo box. I was told you could just delete the one in adaptations with VCDS and it would adapt itself have not tried that as i just bought and ECU and immo box from the same car. 99 6n1 plugged straight in. PS: Have to find the plastic covers for the dizzy and cables because it's quite ugly.
  5. Also, immo box, and chip from the newer AFH 6n1, plugs straight in. Or if you have vag tacho take the pin out of the old immo box and then just sync with new ECU. That is for older lupo's with immo 1 and 2.
  6. Update: Car works fine without those connected. A/C works fine, the fan turns on when it hits 94 deg C. All is good. video-1595097154.mp4
  7. Looking at the schematics they both have blower control modules. Ac pins are the same yes was thinking of doing that but again at the schematics they go to different places. I thought it was pretty standard swap? Like every other thread i've seen is "put an AFH in it"
  8. Entirely possible, there are a lot of converted lupos, but seems like it's a big secret. Asked a few people that make up looms here in my country even two of them that have done this exact conversion, they don't want to say. Can't drive the car to the other side of the country to get it sorted out...
  9. Hello evryone, i started swaping over the loom from the polo, pretty much just de pinned the lupo ECU plug and plugged them in the polo ECU plug, only 2-3 needed to be resoldered due to size difference in the pins otherwise everything else fits, but got to a problem. I have no idea how to wire in the A/C it's pins 33 and 35 on the polo ecu plug and pins 8 and 10 on the lupo ECU plug, i only have Autodata and doesn't really help wih information about the signals, checked schematics but wires seem to be going on different places for both cars. Also the engine cooler blower control module pin 13 on the lupo ECU plug i can't figure out where to put on the polo ECU.
  10. On the dizzy, you can adjust it easy just turn it in the direction you need, but on this you need to remap ecu, it's not hard but you need the right tools, and on this ECU no one wants to spend the time to work it out, because it's not profitable. The compression ratios is the same, but shape of the combustion chamber is different, timings needs to be touched up a bit.
  11. Well the AFH stock injectors are 200cc for the 1.4 now making the engine 1.6 and putting smaller (130cc) doubt it would be able to make up the difference, i will try anyway. Still timing would need touching a bit too. Any ideas for that?
  12. Well what injectors would fit? The original 130cc i think will be way too small, i will try then in the next few days probably anyway. The brand is critical when it's not popular, nobody wants to spend the time looking for all the maps for a lupo 75hp ECU because they will probably never use them again, and will charge a lot more money than the ecumaster det3+ if you find anyone that is willing to spend the time at all...
  13. It's rich on petrol because the lupo ECU is supposed to run with 130cc injectors, now that i have put the afh which are 200cc the times are too long so it throws way too much petrol. Also ECU thinks that is running a 1.4 75hp AHW engine when it is an AFH stroked to 1.6, just needs a remap. And lean on gas have to change injectors and reductor, but not much point since timings need to be adjusted first. I don't want to use the dizzy, but i can't find anyone to remap the shitty Magneti Marelli 4AV IAW ECU that is in the lupo. So that leaves me with a few choices: Run the AFH loom and ecu so i have to use the dizzy, and get rid of ABS, Get an ECUmaster det3+ piggyback and hope it would be able to sort out timing with it Get a standalone like Megasquirt and loose ABS, A/C... The fact that i can't find anyone to remap it so it works fine, makes me think that no one would be able to enable the ABS, due to the ABS block being different in the Polo and Lupo.
  14. You can look it up with vcds - lambda factor. It is really rich. Really didn't want to use the dizzy, but looks like i'm gonna have to. Any way to run the ABS with the afh ecu and loom?
  15. So, quite some time passed can't seem to find a decent mapper here to sort out the fueling, any ideas?
  16. On my car is LPG injection, it has it's own ecu, separate map sensor and even has the lambda connected to it to make minor changes to the mixture. Still have to correct it for bigger changes but didn't see a timing control in the software. Because if it's running of the ECU map for timing and i have a feeling it's in limp mode because of the missing camshaft sensor it threw a code for it, no check engine light so far. Weird though why they decided to have both camshaft and crankshaft sensors usually one is enough on a simple motor like this. At the moment it's setup to change over at 30C of the coolant, it should have a temp sensor in the reductor have not really looked into the system that much. Just the thought it is a separate programmable ECU kind of like a standalone/piggyback thing. Though i think it's setup to have the fuel pump running because i can hear it when driving on LPG.
  17. Well as long as i find a map pack or damos because cant find the maps, easier done on diesels, on my audi i calibrated for a different map sensor easy enough. Not sure how it goes on these to be honest. Could just have it on petrol until it warms up and then switch to LPG as it's the main used fuel. Not sure if i can change timings when on LPG though.
  18. Maybe, who knows. If i manage to find a damos or a map pack for this ECU maybe i would be able to charge it without going with an aftermarket one. It quite basic works by map and tps there should be an easy way to calibrate a different map sensor to it so it reads boost not only vacuum . And maybe actually remap it.
  19. I meant bigger for the LPG system, seeing how the AFH injectors are over fueling don't think i will need bigger ones. To be honest 200cc are quite big for a 1.4 engine it's really strange it comes originally with such big injectors.
  20. Well i tested it out, put the AFH stock manifold, extended the O2 sensor wiring, got the SDI/TDI centre exhaust and muffler brand new from Polmostrow polish ones, absolute pure sh*t have not seen worse made exhaust seriously sound like sh*t, rattles like sh*t, 100% would not recommend! It's pretty much like the boxes are empty no baffles or packing in them at all. The LPG system is Tamona Progas got it sorted out today, it was running lean. Now it's a lot better but i might have to change the injectors for bigger ones. Interesting enough AHW electrons + AFH brand new Bosch injectors runs too rich and i thought the 200cc injectors wont be enough for the 1.6 stroked AFH, maybe timings are not the best so need to get it mapped but can't seem to find someone to do it or or at least to find a map pack for winols so i can poke around in there.
  21. First one is mine, it's cracked on the other side. But the second one see how it's cut is this a normal thing? I've seen a few AFH manifolds like that but mine does not have that cut. Edit: What do you guys think 50mm exhaust should be big enough. Looking at the 1.4tdi/1.7SDI system it will be bolt on and is bigger than the stock one.
  22. So guys, what would you recommend for an exhaust system on this car. Anyone knows the size of the rear silencer? I managed to get a AFH cast iron manifold, because the AHW one has different size ports. Though it's cracked, still thinking if i should look for another one or get this one welded. The only other i found so far have cracks right across the face, not sure if its supposed to be like that? Because the one i got doesn't have that.
  23. Forgot the make, regulator is hidden bellow the coolant bottle for a better look, yeah it switches over when coolant reaches 30C. you still have a manual switch and force LPG start. Need to tidy up the injectors when i get rid of the air filter and put a CAI on it will move them a bit and make the hoses shorter and same length, don't know if there will be enough room to get it under the intake manifold. New injectors are here and got a AFH throttle body that i had to fix. One of the coils somehow was broken off, so it had unsteady idle. Soldered it back up put a few drops of glue on it to stay in place and gotta test it out. Don't know when because it's snowing and cant work outside. Plus having too much fun in my audi :D.
  24. It's a lot cheaper to run, basically halving the money spent on fuel.
  25. Will do that, injectors were old from a car that hasn't ran in a long time anyway plus new Bosch ones are like 15$/piece might as well, changed everything else on the engine anyway. Now though new problem, look like the AHW exhaust manifold is a bit different the ports are taller and not as wide while the AFH head has short wider ports, so don't know whether to put the cast iron manifold or get a cheap chinese 4-2-1. Can't seem to find anything else for the AFH.
