  1. Update. It appears to be an issue with the fuse by the battery. The cover was off and when we secured it back together and ‘wiggled’ the wiring, the window closed!! For now the car is secure again so I will wait for some dry weather and investigate further. If anyone else has any previous experience of a similar issue please share
  2. Or is this only part of a wiring loom?
  3. Thank you. It won’t work anymore by putting the key in the lock or by the switch. The only direction it worked in was open! Now I cannot close it using any method. Which switch is it please that is located internally? Is it where the window switch plugs into?
  4. If anyone can offer any help I would be eternally grateful! Lupo GTI 2002. The driver’s electric window stopped working a few months back and the regulator was replaced. However it still acted up and worked intermittently but as it’s been winter I just haven’t used it. Then today I forgot and opened the window. It wouldn’t close using the switch but luckily it closed using the key in the lock. But the window must have dropped as it was open about an inch when I went back to the car. When I tried the switch it wouldn’t close but will open. Worse still, it won’t even close with the key in the lock so now it’s stuck open. The passenger one works perfectly with both the switch and key in lock. Please help as it’s sending me insane!
  5. Please let me know if you have a red nsf seat belt for a Lupo GTI, must be in good condition and able to post please. Many thanks

  7. Hi, do you have a nsf seat belt in red? Cheers
  8. Has anyone had a full respray on their Lupo Gti? Really want to get it done, (black) and would really appreciate any recommendations of bodyshops. Based in Cornwall but have no issue travelling to most locations to get it done (far North may be a stretch!) many thanks
  9. I have a late 2002 VW Lupo GTI 6 speed in black (sun roof not aircon) and considering selling, just wanted to gauge if there would be any interest out there at the moment? I purchased her in March last year and in honesty would love to keep her but we also have a VW T5 Camper which has become an obsession (we are a VW nut house!!) and now looking at replacing our works VW Caddy with another T5 but Loopy would have to go. She has 130k on the clock, lots of service history, had cambelt and water pump replaced last year when I bought her. Two remote keys, central locking, electric windows, DAB stereo, alloy wheels. Flew through last years MOT and will have new MOT which is due in July. The car is genuine and original with the exception of the suspension which had already been replaced and lowered when I purchased the car (I think I have the paperwork showing the alignments etc when this was done). And the previous owners had the windows professionally tinted, I have receipts for that aswell. To my knowledge, other than that, everything else is standard. Due to my OCD (!!) I have replaced interior trims (genuine VW) since buying the car and I also have a brand new VW genuine steering wheel in box ready to fit that will be included (supplied but not installed). Bodywork is in great condition, but please also be realistic as it is an 18 year old car so not spotless! I have included a couple of photos just for reference at the moment but will post more if genuine interest is there. Now has private plate on, L25LAF, which is included. Located in Cornwall, looking at offers in the region of £3995. Thanks for looking
  10. So, going to replace drivers window regulator on GTI this weekend and after searching through the forum found danoid’s thread but couldn’t open link! Is there any specific advice on replacing one of these? All advice very gratefully received Also, can’t open links on another post regarding replacement door membrane material alternatives (maybe my phone settings!!) Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks everyone, we are pleased with the car and she will be used daily, a vehicle like this has to be driven In the valeters today for the interior.
  12. Thanks that’s a good point! We’ve also discovered that it only has the coilovers on the front, is that usual to only do one end?

Abit of an odd reflection of the house on the bonnet that I didn’t notice when taking photo!

Thanks, I can’t help but have a big smile on my face when I look at the car and it was a 5 hour drive home after collecting the vehicle so I had lots of time to enjoy the ride, they really are great fun and have plenty of power. I’m going to try and load some pics so hopefully it works, I need to resize them first as they are too large.
  17. Thank you for your replies, much appreciated. The ride is extremely harsh at the moment so would like to replace them sooner rather than wait. We have bilsteins on our T5 but hadn’t managed to find any posts mentioning this brand, it seemed the AP and KW brands were preferred. I will google the bilsteins now
  18. I’ve been searching for posts regarding suspensions but unfortunately any with pictures don’t seem to display themselves for me. We are looking to tackle job ourselves but would REALLY appreciate any help and advice as we are novices! Just purchased a Lupo GTI 2002 6 speed but it has been fitted with a poor set of coilovers and non standard wheels so we are changing them back to factory wheels and wanted to ask are the OEM shocks and springs worth putting back on or is it better to get something else for similar money, bearing in mind just been quoted by local VW garage £636 inc vat for shocks and springs all round. We are after a comfortable ride whilst still offering a reasonable level of handling. Not keen on lowering the vehicle too much if at all. Is it wise to change bushes/mounts etc whilst doing job? This may be an obvious question so apologies but would rather ask than not many thanks

Thank you. I’ve been on all of the websites I can think of and have probably come across them but for one reason or another decided they weren’t for me, I am fussy! Davee, do you have any photos and further details you could let me have please? We’re back in Cornwall now but definitely expecting to travel again to get one.

Hi again, new topic started as I’m now after a GTI instead of a Sport (managed to increase my budget!). If anyone has one for sale please let me know. Based in Cornwall but we’re currently out on the road near Manchester as just looked at one but sadly not right for me. So whilst travelling thought I chance it and post in case anyone has one located in the region of our route home

    Lupo Sport

Thanks everyone, appreciate the comparison between the two cars, may the GTI search begin!

    Lupo Sport

Thanks mk2 The gti looks great but may be out of my price range at the moment. Just missed out on a Sport which had 55k and full history for £2k so abit gutted but I’m sure they will come up again if I’m patient!
