Is there supposed to be a gasket where the engine meets the exhaust manifold in the 1.0 lupo when I bought the car there was this white stuff in the area that looks like a liquid gasket or sealant

The engine management light just came on in my lupo what do I do is there a way to read the codes in my car or read what’s wrong with it I don’t really know much about cars

Hi there I’m new just joined the group. Bought my first car today it’s a 1.0 lupo and it needs an engine oil and gearbox oil change was wondering how much oil I need for each and what type of oils best. Thanks
