  1. I sent my box to a pro to rebuild, try OEN 02T 301 215 - but I'm not 100% sure.
  2. Helps smooth out air and engine way up is quicker, both save fuel. Downside is gets in the way of getting at the engine
  3. I'm with Mk2, this is a rare swap. Polo cooling fan control way back when they were using AFH engines was probably a thermo switch in the radiator alone - suspect that may be the reason why there is no ecu connection. AC pins, are they same size? if they are just fit them, 50/50 that your right, if you are wrong just swap the pins

  6. Did your key work before? I would try some penetrating fluid in the lock and see where you go from there.

    The F17BAD MK3 is a mad build - I don't venture into the forum it was posted on any more - last I saw he was importing trick stuff from Germany, what power is he at now? Do you know what 20v engine you will be using?

    Lots of build threads floating around on here - finding one with pictures will be the first hurdle Not done this myself, but the engine/box mounts and sorting drive shafts are the biggest challenges - if you have done a Mk3 conversion you should be OK with the wiring
  9. The Halfords STP kits are ok, but you can get slightly cheaper kits on ebay. Never tried it myself, but I remember reading that the cheapest people to take cars to get recharged was not garages but HVAC companies

  15. Afraid its trial and error - Before you start, on a level surface measure rim to top of arch so you know where you were. Build up the struts, ideally with new top mounts, coat all the threads in some form of protection - I like PTFE spray grease, its good as it repels water and is not sticky. Set a height of spring perch the same on each side - but don't lock it with the grub screw just yet. to help keep your alignment - before tearing in measure angle of front wheel camber - iphone has an angle measure + with wheel off photo hub pinch bolt locations Install, take for a very short drive to settle the suspension, measure new height and then adjust and lastly lock the grub screw, to seal the thread use thread lock on the grub screws.

  18. Sounds like a clever bit of kit, OK if you can trust it. But belt and braces is better than one on its own, I would still run existing as well.

  20. if I am reading what you have written correctly - you have decided not to have an oil pressure sensor How will you get any warning of dangerously low pressure about to destroy your engine? You need to get an oil pressure adaptor similar to below that suits your set up:
  21. Did it go all the way down before? My passenger side door loom liked to come loose and stop the glass - just look under the lower panel

My Gti is currently without MOT and blocked in the drive by wifes dead Merc - This was parked up half in half out of the garage - not sure what was going on with the load Cant understand the difference in revs between 12 & 91 - unless they report at different speeds Maybe run G40 measuring block side by side with 12 and 91 on a logged graph might show what's occurring

Ok, I got the readings for idle: Cold start - After Warming up and revs dropped to idle - I dont see any change cam for either cold and warm Snip tool refused to catch the higher reving images... so I had to revert to IT numpty and photo the screen on the phone Cam advance seems to change quite a bit - hindsight now tells me I should have done a graph
