  1. Got a power curve through on email. Doesn't show the claimed power but I'm still very happy with it! And the bill for the engine..... £17000 just on the engine.... wow John
  2. There is no idle control valve on an electric throttle lupo, the throttle modulates to achieve its idle. So it's built in.
  3. Ummmmm, I think so? It's 500bhp and 502kgs... I don't know what the veyron is. It apparently does 0-100mph in 6.1 seconds.
  4. Can't wait to get it home and start tinkering with it, got quite a few things I want to do to it, all small but they will make the finished quality much better when done. I'm not a massive fan of pop rivets to hold on skin panels, what's wrong with a rivnut and a nice stainless steel allen key cap screw? Easier to remove then.
  5. Girlings are heavy, parkas are 4 piston and look better. Never fitted my brembos before I sold the car but the girlings were good although pedal travel was slightly increased
  6. I went out in it today, got out smiling from ear to ear. it's still at the factory at the moment as I've got to go collect it on a trailer as its got slicks fitted and I don't want to drive it 180 miles home. It's not mega loud, has to be under 102db for track use.
  7. Yep filter in footwell, apparently to stop intake temps getting up as it gets a bit warm where the filter was located in the bay.
  8. Made it over ok then? i used so much bubble wrap! anyway.... Put the deposit down on the new toy today: MK Indy R, Hayabusa with a Holeshot Stage 3+ Turbo conversion, adjustable boost to give power from 250-500bhp at the wheels, total weight 502kg!!!! John
  9. I'd go and check the plugs and connection on the fan/aircon control relay behind the front bumper passenger side. Sounds like its that playing up. I used to use the ac button on mine as a manual fan over ride when sitting in traffic, so I know that the ac button is directly connected to there and that relay also controls the fan. John
  10. I like parts of both, what annoys me is having to re size photos and sometimes not having enough space to upload, hence using photo bucket to host my photos, and not being able to bump (although us mods can feature ads) What I do like is the one item per thread, which I think is better. What I like more is the fact the forum polices the classifieds section within its own app, there used to be a lot of wasted time trying to sort out the marketplace and that's something that I could do without having to do again.... and the other mods think the same way about that. We will have a chat with the hierarchy and see if we can do some fine tuning.
  11. I have a 2 month old one for sale if your interested rather than refurbishing it?
  12. I've got a gti set, pm if you want them
  13. Ive done quite well then it seems, Saying that, i do have a few different bits to your standard GTi
  14. Its not done too bad, still a few things left to shift that i though would sell easy. Think the asking price it too high on some bits.
  15. Ive currently made £7982 on mine breaking it, and still have a few bits left to sell. Take in to account the engine was worth 2350 alone and the BBS's sold for £1400. So the car would make 4200 in parts if your lucky
  16. I spoke to Pete yesterday. He went on holiday and before he left had more than one person interested in the stuff, they all had his payment details and all paid him whilst he was away. He has refunded who needed to be refunded, and sold the bits to whoever was first. John
  17. Im sorry but this doesn't sound like something pete would do. Surely a mistake somewhere? Iv just spoke to him on FB, see if this can be resolved. john
  18. I can supply you with all the dark plastics, PM me if interested
  19. No I'm building a MK indy kit car. Bits are now coming up on classifieds, if your interested in anything then please let me know. John
  20. I've pulled too much out of the car to get it back to standard really, needs a whole wiring loom and an engine. It's something I thought about, then worked out how much it would cost and how much I'd sell it for and decided against it.
  21. Jeez where do I start.... Chevrolet orange BBS RS, 7.5 front, 8 rear ET 18/12, falken rubber Polished bathursts with toyo rubber (need polishing) Jenvey ITB's with under slung throttle linkage and lupo inlet manifold Raceland manifold with custom made stainless steel exhaust system 200 cell sports cat. Smooth front bumper Rear bumper Mk5 golf boot handled boot, with Gti spoiler Front wings rolled and flared, flat lips Smoothed Cambridge lights Porsche Boxter S brembo calliper adaptors for 280mm discs Original stainless steel KW V1's 6 speed gearbox and linkages for conversion Helix autosport Paddle clutch MK6 Gti steering wheel with lupo slip ring poly bushed front wishbones GTI rear beam and disc brakes Stubby electric passenger and drivers mirrors Gloss black plastics Black carpet and headliner/grab handles Mk5 shark fin aerial Gti xenon headlights and ballast units Gti doors, electric windows ABS pump and Ecu, Gti engine Ecu, airbags and controller, continence module. And all the other bits that come on a Gti, it's a complete car bar seats and a few engine bits!
  22. It brings me great sadness to do this but - The lupo will be broken for parts, everything will be for sale to fund a new project, I have lost the love and I can't see myself finishing it. A parts list will soon appear but If you are interested in any parts now please PM me directly and we can talk. John
  23. Why don't you measure the resistance of the airbag??
  24. Yeah that would be the best way IMO. Ysing the AFH head makes it easier for cams and set up. The VVT in the lupo isn't really VVT to be honest, but it does make a difference, look at my power curve below. This was just before the charger spat its guts. The dotted line is with VVT enabled, so you can see what the increase in inlet timing does. It doesn't really make more power, but moves the torque lower down the rev range.
