  1. if the garage lost it then that would be their problem about refitting and supplying, without the cover makes the car non drivable in my eyes too much to lose if the belt gets trashed due to debris finding its way in
  2. Makes you wonder about the garage if they manage to lose a cover, sure its not wedged in the engine bay someware, wouldn't be surprised if its still on the car, its easy to place things around the engine bay then forget
  3. mine where just cheap replacements off eBay, just remember to grease them up before fitting
  4. what's its worth and what you get for it are two different things
  5. make sure they are greased up, they can go noisy when dry, they could of course be worn but i fitted new straps to mine without greasing (learning point, lol)and they went noisey very quickly, greased them up and now all ok
  6. getyourself something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VS450-Vgate-Fault-Code-Reader-Scanner-Engine-ABS-AIR-BAG-For-VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda-/152219356353?hash=item2370fb0cc1:g:~JQAAOSwImRYLXh6 read the airbag codes and see what it says, might just need reseting
  7. its just an advisory, if it was a problem it would have failed, most of the time an advisory is just a way the garage can bleed more money from you and carry out work that not actually needed
  8. I have no idea what that is, I probably know it as somthing else, any pictures?
  9. I take it you have replaced the battery as there will always be some drain and a knakered battery wont help 2-3 weeks is quiet a long time, most posts about battery drain seem to be 2 days and its flat, hence I'm thinking the battery simply not holding charge properly
  10. did somone say dash out... still get nightmares funny thing, it was the first job i ever did on the lupo all for a £12 part
  11. The sorn is going to put most people off, you maybe better off if you have another vehicle is transfer insurance, road tax the car and use it as your run-a-round until its sold
  12. unless your intent on buying a car to mess about with its probably worth walking away from it, or at least take a code reader next time, and check the mot history thats always a fun read https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
  13. I'm interested in the rear seatbelts including the bit that it all plugs into between the seats
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-VW-FOX-1-2-PETROL-3DR-TRW-ELECTRIC-POWER-STEERING-PUMP-6Q0423156AB-/192161128459?hash=item2cbdb2200b:g:HGwAAOSwSypY9KBy maybe thats what your looking for
  15. classic memory circuit, that what we used to call them when a output from a relay was wired back to its own energising coil, normally by mistake
  16. I seen it go down a few times lately, but it eventually its comes back online
  17. The Lupo seems to be a poor design, for comparison I can get the entire bumper off a polo in about 10mins, maybe im missing the obvious as it shouldnt be that hard
  18. I tried to get the bumper off the sdi, got as far as getting the grill off then gave up as I think the bit that goes around the headlights is held in place with plastic clips but didn't want to force it, break it then end up with more repairs
  19. the guy who made it up gave me a call to see how it fitted, its clear that their normal day to day stuff is prolly basic and this gave them a nice job they could have a think about and get their teeth into, was please to report its all fitted with no signs of any leaks this investigation was all started by the power steering pump becoming noisy, turns out not enough oil in system and was causing it to froth up what little oil was left, now system is full up again pump is silent, my lucky day cos its been noisy for about 3months and I'm really surprised it didn't trash the pump, must be made of solid stuff
  20. that seems really cheap, I would have thought it would have been higher
  21. bargin, just spent that on a powered steering hose for my sdi
  22. All done, was pretty much a perfect fit, fitted was easier as i managed to disconnect a few more things to make it easier to install total price was £120 inc vat, then bought some more power steering fluid for £11, cheaper than a new one and better than fitting second hand that could just as easily fail, any problem with this one it all covered by warrenty
