  3. I have got a double din head unit in my lupo at the moment and it's been fitted wrong and it can just be slid out the metal holding brackets due to not having the correct cage or having the facia plate...buying second hand life haha how it is current sitting in my Lupo the past owner used wood screws to fit the bracket fml.... https://i.imgur.com/w6qGGjz.jpg I have been looking for some different cages and I was just wanting to know what is the best option for lupos? Also I have got the model where the cup holder had to be removed. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-Double-DIN-Stereo-Headunit-FITTING-CAGE-KIT-Mounting-/400683557776?hash=item5d4a99e390:g:370AAOSw-W5UrOxC http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autoleads-FP-17-00-VW-Lupo-1999-On-Double-Din-Car-Stereo-Facia-Fascia-Panel-/261203339359?hash=item3cd0eea85f:g:oGsAAOSwkZhWTvA8 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FP-17-00-VOLKSWAGEN-POLO-2000-ON-BLACK-FASCIA-FACIA-ADAPTOR-PANEL-SURROUND-/180792435384?hash=item2a1811a2b8:m:mSiz_OlRtJwDQeFQmBxeGHQ They all look sort of the same however I have been reading some fit really bad and are cheap and ill fitting. Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks for the people getting back to me so far I have found out a few bits of information about these locking nuts which have also been brought up here. I have found out they are RAD Brand and also that the 10.9 is the " Tempered to strength class 10.9 " so that is found out at least. so far this is all I know of these and I have nothing else to go on at the moment. I am not really wanting to have to get crazy with breaking or welding things on to them as I would like to re-use them again but I am feeling that this might not happen in the end. Would something like this maybe work on the nut? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11PC-TWIST-SOCKETS-LOCKING-WHEEL-NUT-REMOVER-DAMAGED-BROKEN-STUDS-ROUNDED-BOLTS-/231701426442?hash=item35f27b310a:g:FBkAAOSw0HVWBob2 I have heard good things about this sort of tool but also heard bad things about them on locking nuts like mine as well any possible leads for this thanks?
  5. Hi has anyone got an idea what locking nut this is and how to get it off I have got them on with BBS RA's the person who I brought the car off had lost the locking nut and I need to take the wheel off to check brakes and do some work on the car....I am however finding it hard to get a key or know what key to even get for this locking bolt, I would like to be able to use these nuts again so don't really want to break them in anyway but really need them ASAP. Thank for anyone who can help with this issue.
  6. Not that I think so as this is the end that goes in the unit http://i.imgur.com/vEe3gaD.jpgThis is not the same as the cable you have shown so I am guessing it's something to do with it been JVC double unit maybe I'm not sure sorry
  7. The connection point on the left side of the photo is not the same as on my unit it only has one connection that end and this one has two
  8. I'm not sure this will work with my unit however ye it would just make things more easy for sure if that didn't work then god knows
  9. Hi thanks for getting back to me thought I would never hear from someone with this issue I am using a ISO lead that come with the after market stereo I have not touched the main wiring from the car loom at all as like you said I do not want any big issues or big bills aha. I have only had this car a few weeks now and the person who had it before never bothered to change the red and yellow around as they never used the Head unit. As you can see from this photo http://i.imgur.com/NiOqDyw.jpg I have had to do the red and yellow wire switch so that the unit would remember the settings. The tape over the blue and white is because I cut this in half the first time to wire in the remote wire from the sub as this in the Manuel for the unit says this is the one however it didn't work. And also when I put the remote wire into the yellow like on the photo http://i.imgur.com/NiOqDyw.jpgit did turn the subwoofer on and off but it then the stereo would only come on when the car had been turned on then off for some reason so back to square one I do not have just a solid blue wire from this after market loom only blue and white and as it says here it's for http://www.manualslib.com/manual/488544/Jvc-Kw-Xr811.html?page=2#manual"Remote lead/power aerial, 200 mA max. (Blue, white stripe)"
  10. Sorry for the long post as well it's a lot to read Okay so to start of this is my first time ever installing something like this in a car, I followed the instructions that come with the kit however when I fitted my new active subwoofer in my car I thought all had gone well it turned on and played music through it, however the subwoofer does not turn off when I remove the key from the car. I have googled this and it said something about the remote turn on wire which for me is on the back of the head unit and is a blue and white wire. The cable that come with the subwoofer is blue not that it matters as its a remote turn on wire for the sub but I ran this wire through the car to the head unit and then I have wired the blue wire with the kit to the remote wire on the back of the head unit which was the blue and white one.....I did this by simply cutting the wire in half and then joining them together with the blue wire from the subwoofer creating a "T" junction effect. I have not got a photo of this part however in the images you can see that I have had to tape up the blue and white again while I try and find a solution haha Note:I had wired this all up before turning the sub on for the first time I didn't add the remote wire after. Sorry for the amount of detail but really not sure on what the problem could be I can have links to photos if it helps as well. Thanks to anyone who can help me Active subwoofer: Edge EDB12A 2014 model Car: VW Lupo W reg (2000) Head unit: jvc kw-xr811 http://www.manualslib.com/manual/488544/Jvc-Kw-Xr811.html?page=2#manual (Wiring/ install manual for help.) Okay so I had a second look today at this issue and I was thinking if it was possible to wire it in with the yellow wire from the iso harness as this gets 12v when the ignition is on and then goes off when the key is removed? If this is even right? this is what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/nBpyd5q.jpg I have some photos to show how the ISO harness is done I had to change the yellow and the red wires around as the Unit was not remembering anything when I turned the car off so that's why. When I first tried this by linking it up with the yellow 12v wire it made the car ignition go backwards the stereo would only come on once the car had gone from ignition to off it would not come on otherwise even if the car was started so not sure on that. I also am not sure how to show images so I have had to post links to them as well https://imgur.com/a/N8lss
