  1. There's some good guides on Youtube on how to do it. I guess Ebay would be your best bet for that, loads of 2nd hand stuff come up like that
  2. If you go onto your facebook market place their's stacks for sale, loads and loads. Your need to join lots of selling pages but they are out there. I must have 50+ lupo's come up on mine.
  3. Going from that it would look like the EGR valve is blocked with crap. I have no idea how they work but mines been removed, someone on here will know. You can take them off and clean them yourself though, if you have a few tools.
  4. I literally have no idea lol. I've never done anything like this before. My mate saw my lights and said to borrow the kit in return for a pint. I just followed the instructions and 15 mins later they were almost new again. I guess the rougher the paper the more it will take off? I know you have to be careful not to put too much pressure/heat into the light as this will damage it permanently so would be careful on using a really harsh paper.
  5. This kit only takes off a really really thin layer off the surface, i think to take it back deep past a chip you would need a bigger kit, or something a bit more bite on the pads. This removes the damage but bought the chips. If you've got crap on the surface it's worth a go though, it might help with very small chips?
  6. For anyone wanting to do the same, this is the kit i used. Well worth giving it a go http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/car-cleaning-kits/autoglym-headlight-restoration-complete-kit?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Car+Cleaning-_-Car+Cleaning+Kits-_-179824&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=mmtxttxam&istBid=tztx&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:865695745|agid:43902124695|tid:aud-297219199169:pla-327140590467|crid:202397318301|nw:g|rnd:14326673748352875586|dvc:c|adp:1o1|loc:9045285&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoZTNBRCWARIsAOMZHmFRkNGRo-PGJKUfAqk_QjWIh6PWFFvDC-0iW1XwLoY0SnbRpf6YIRwaAjE0EALw_wcB
  7. Mine were just badly faded but other than that there's no damage. I doubt stone chips would make any difference, the pads fit to the end of a drill and cover a about 3 inches. I'm genuinely shocked at how clear they have come up. The car is a complete shed, these are now the cleanest part of it lol.
  8. Hi I've decided to sell my VRS that i have owned for about 2 weeks now. It was always bought with a view to eventually sell on as I have a daily hack already and my toy is my R32 This advert will include EVERYTHING about the car. I can not stand reading sales adverts with little or no information so this will include every single detail about the car, you can then decide if it is the car for you The car itself drives without fault. Has no strange noises, no 'bad' points to note and is a real pleasure to drive. As far as i can tell, everything on the car works. The car returns around 50mpg around town and has only been filled up with Shell V power Diesel during my friends ownership and also my brief one. This bank holiday weekend the car is being fully detailed and also having a full wet vac on the whole interior for the new owner, this itself is costing me over £200. The timing belt and waterpump were changed a week ago, along with an oil change at 114236 miles, again this has been done for the new owner and cost £355. The car has had a new battery fitted and 2 almost new rear tyres. The front tyres have plenty of tread The bodywork on this car is extremely good and it has no dents or and real scratches to note, just a handful of stone chips to the front of the bonnet. There is no rust and no repairs. It's condition does not relate to its 114,000 miles. I've seen some shed VRS's for sale since buying this one, do not confuse this car to the sheds that are about. Please take a close look at all the pictures and you will see how much this car has been looked after. Zoom in and have a look, it has had a money no object in regards to maintenance. The interior of the car is extremely good, the seats show very very little signs of wear. The drivers seat bolster is fine with no holes, rips or tears, the seats overall i would rate at around 8/10. The gear stick top is worn (see picture), i will try and get a replacement before the car sells. The seats and all interior is in the process of being fully cleaned and wet vac'd this weekend. The only mark that did not come out of the seats when being cleaned was what looked like a pen that had leaked, it's right on the side edge/seam of the drivers seat. You can see this in the picture. Its not bad but is visible, size wise its around the size of a 5 pence piece. Alloys are in fairly good condition, 3 of them do have some corrosion. Please see pictures. If i was was keeping the car I would run the alloys over the winter and get them refurbished in the new year. However, they don't let the car down but would benefit from a refurb to bring them inline with the rest of the cars condition. The headlights....... the headlights are also going to be machine polished this weekend too, this will bring them back to looking new. He only sold the car as he has now bought a Vauxhall XVR, he put the car up for sale and i bought it a couple of mins later. I had no hesitation as i know how well the car has been looked after. It's honestly one of the best service records i have ever seen with a car. I also have every tax disc since 2006 and lots of previous MOT's. As you can see i have used it very little. There will more than likely be bits i have missed out but that gives you an almost full breakdown of the cars service record. This is a 100% honest car, it does not have anything to hide at all. If you come and test drive it you will understand how well the car has been looked after, it's had an easy life by all accounts and anything replaced that needed doing. If you are after an original unmolested car then this has to be on your list to look at. The car will be available for viewings from Tuesday 29th August The only thing to note since having the car cleaned is the rear spoiler, the paint has faded slightly. This is more visible from the top, the front and underside of it is ok. I've tried to take a picture of this.
  9. I decided to give the shed's headlights a machine polish at the weekend. For the time it takes, about 15 mins per light the results are pretty cool. They were pretty bad. I used an Autoglym kit i borrowed from a mate in return for a pint. BEFORE AFTER
  10. Have you got an Airbag light on the dash? As far as i'm aware, fitting an aftermarket steering wheel isn't an MOT fail but the Airbag light on the dash if lit up, is a fail. Not sure on the rest tbh. Does your key not open the doors or are the barrels damaged?
  11. Your location says Hertfordshire but where roughly? I'm miles away in Cornwall, i would buy it today if i was closer and have it just as a spare when mine gives up. What's the lowest you would take and i'll see if it's worth me sorting something out?
  12. My Lupo Tdi is on 245k now and still drives fine. It's a bag of sh*t looks wise but its serviced on time and runs spot on.
  13. I wouldn't say the suspension on my tdi Lupo is that good. It wallows about like an old boat. You must have something different fitted to yours?
  14. Both doors on mine are shagged, probably well past repairing. The passenger doors bangs really really loud when you open it, it bangs 3 times until its open enough to get out. The drivers side bangs twice. The cars a mess so i think it adds to the crapness of it all.
  15. Don't give up on it yet. My lupo Tdi's on 260k now and still bang on. It looks like an absolute wreck now but it's purely for munching up motorway miles and it does that well. It's brilliant because it's worth bugger all and costs basically nothing to tax. I fit the cheapest of the cheapest tyres to it, i think i paid brand new, £22 per tyre, fitted, and i get 20k out of of the front ones, they are Revolo branded or something like that? If your after a new Turbo for yours then buy one on Ebay cheap. You could fit one yourself for £100.
  16. Most MOT garages would fail it on those rear lights, anything that reduces the light output like tinting is a fail. I was probably a good thing you changed them. I remember we all had badboy bonnets on our escorts back in the day, i like them.
  17. I paid £650 for my 1999 poverty spec TDI with 190k on the clock in 2015. That silver one has got to be worth 1k+ or have TDI prices fallen through the floor recently?? That looks a tidy one, it's just over 100k. Going by some of the possible values on that one, mine would be worth about 200 quid now lol
  18. Are you using an Irish calculator to work out these figures lol.
  19. I'm not sure how similar the 75bhp and 100bhp engines are but swapping an entire engine for only an extra 25bhp wont be worth it, your hardly notice the difference with such a small bhp gain. If your going down the route of swapping engines then put something decent in it like a 1.8t or similar or your be feeling pretty short changed for just 20/25bhp.
  20. Are you deffo sure that the power steering pump hasn't failed or on its way out? I had one go on my golf a few years back and i could hardly turn the wheel. It was near on impossible when stationary.
  21. I think I woukd cock that right up if I attempted to actually remove it. It's amazing what a difference it makes to the time to fill the tank. Its nice to know you've actaully filled it up. I usually give up but that little valve is like magic!
  22. Has anyone ever noticed the fuel tank pressure release valve in the top of the filler pipe? Located about an inch into the pipe? If you push it, it releases the pressure in the tank and let's you fill the whole tank up from empty to full in about 2 or 3 mins. It let's you literally brim the tank until the fuel spills out. It is a mega quick way of filling up. There's no more clicking of the pump. It just fills and fills and fills. Ive never noticed it until last week. Keep it pressed forward with the end of the pump while filling and it keep it constantly open giving you an almoat maximum filling speed. It got 39 litres of diesel in it today. That was with about 1.5 litres still left before I filled it up. It came to 44 quid for what I've put in it today, it had a little bit left in. I'm not sure how many miles you guys are getting to a tank but I get around 550 to 600 from 45 quids worth of fuel if I do all motorway and around 50mpg around all the country lanes where I live. Give that button a push next time you filling up if you've not ever done it before
