  1. Hi I have had this problem 3 times now. take the car back to the dealer (book it in as my dealer always wants the car for the day ((9:00-3:30 aprox))) They do somthing and it works again. The first two times it happend was when I was pressing the remote as somone tryed to get in the boot. The last on was because of the cold (I think). Hope this helps
  2. No the Head unit is the one that is in the pic under my name, it's a kenwood with all the kit for ipod connection. I am putting the original back in. Thanks for the replies.
  3. Mine will be white and sadly won't have those allys on it..
  4. I am getting a new Polo. So I will still be a VW owner just not a Fox.
  5. Hi people I am soon not be a Fox owner, I just wanted to say it's been fun and the forum has been very helpful, I will still pop in sometimes if the little Fox gets a beating from it's haters, and be any help to other Fox owners. For nearly 3 years it has been the best car I have owned (I have had 3 so I have a small comparison). I have done many miles in the car and only had the odd problem none of witch were disabling problems (no need for the RAC), just a few electrical glitches that VW sough ted quickly (my local dealer is grate they always say they need the car for the day so give me a courtesy car, they have been interesting but the last one was horrible an asmatic 1.6 beetle I much prefer my much cheaper 1.2 Fox). The Fox is a cracking package but I am ready for an upgrade. so thanks I will be around until the end of the month when my new car is delivered. O yer I am 99% certain I will be selling my head unit and all the stuf to fit it in a fox, and defo selling a set of light protectors as well (I will put ad add in the market place when it remove them from my car).
  6. Main dealer only. I had to leave both my keys with them as I had a problem with my boot lock. You could always try to make VW think the new key is one of the origonal ones on the blink, get them to coad it for free. If not I thinks its £££ for them to do it for you.
  7. No I have not had that problem but my boot release has broken twice, when someone tries to open the boot when you press the remote locking button, something happens and it stops working with the central locking. It's bluming annoying. Sorry a bit of a hijack. I still think it's a good car for the money.
  8. http://cnewcarmodelsr.blogspot.com/2009/10/volkswagen-fox-2010-all-details.html This dose not look bad but looks a mix between the out going Polo/Fox and the new Golf/Polo. It looks like a big change from the current Fox.
  9. a your face looks terrible. I thought Fox haters got the idear not to post there comments in the Fox section. I take it you have nothing better to do at 1 in the morning. Please keep negitive Fox hateing comments to your self.
  10. Yer the bumper protector. From RGM you can bye direct for £35 delivered by royal mail. or £40 delivered by DPD (yes I went for this one came well quick). They just stick down with M3 tape takes about 10 mins to fit. I have now found they are selling on ebay, I have to say it is probs easier to bye from the bay. They also sell silver ones, but I think the black looks better and costs quite a bit less. They advertise in the Auto Express (just tought I would let you know) Thanks for the replaies http://www.rearguards.co.uk/index.html
  11. I think this is cracking. I got it a few days ago from RGM.
  12. Yer my car is 3 years old in March I would love another new car. I won't get one though if prices rise any more, if the scrappage scam (yes scam) stops I might be in with a chance. But I would probably not get another Fox unless the updated it and put a few different engines in hopefully mid 2010, don't get me wrong the car is excelent but I am a bit bored (my ininsurance company won't let me do much to it). It's on a robbing bugger PCP, the next car I bye new or used will be payed for on HP or a bank loan (Damn that might not work eather the banks are arses as well). I heard somone say last year the car your driving now you will be in it for the next 3 years (that sounds about right now). Anyway my rambleings are over.
  13. I would say it feels in some ways better to drive than the MK7 Polo (the one that has just been replaced) the Fox is lighter (feels swifter than the 70ps Polo) with a higher driving position and a not so hemmed in when driving. I agree with the need for a better engine but with new car prices going though the roof means unless they make a Fiat Panda 100HP killer for less than fiat can. (no chance as a 1.2 urban Fox is now up for nearly £8000). just my thoughts
  14. The prices of all cars are going up in September as wee have to pay a premium over Europe which for a few months we have not. Glad to see the back of the scrappage "scam" as I am thinking of changing my car and could not get a deal for love nore money as "the scrappage was putting demand on new cars so you can't have one until january as we can't get the stock".
  15. Yer I agree it is called a city car after all, but it can do a motorway run as well as most super-minis (there not so mini anymore even the Fox is as big as an old Polo) I just like it you jump in and drive no hassle no fuss A-B quickly comfortably and safely.
  16. Yer for the price the Fox is better than the Polo. I agree there feels more space and it is nice to drive. I have been on the motorway quite a few times now I live in Nottingham and I have been to St Alberns new forest 3 times NEC 4 times and others Anyway it is nice to drive on the motorway there is as much noise as you would expect from a budget car, you can still talk to all your passengers. I have not ridden in the back of the car but when I clean it it seems quite big, all the people I have had in the back like it. The high driving position is nice gives you the feel like your in a bigger car, you feel less intimerdated by other by other bigger car and vans, only thing is when you take the Fox for a service, you will probably get polo and you feel like your on the floor and the seat back rest wheel is in the wrong place in the Polo. Get back in to the Fox and your in a 4x4, it's not for everybody but I like it (I have the seat rased as high as I can and no I am not a short bloke) To sum up I like the car yes I would like a bigger engin (but I don't need it) as the 1.2 is prity nippy and the clutch and gearbox are nice and light you can get your ass moving quite swift. Nice car nice package (sliding seats are excelent try a full set of golf clubs). sorry sent you to sleep now. Hope you enjoy your car. PS If you tell them not to put the sill protectors on sell them on ebay for £30 and bye some mats instead.
  17. I keep the world in mine and forget it is there constantly.
  18. iphone all the way they do everything and they do it well. I got my iphone 3gs 32gb in white last week and I have hardly put it down since, loads of cool apps. They look cool and then you can put a cool case on it. or
  19. Please leave you negative attitudes at the door. It is a good BUDGET car, as for the problems that's what a warranty is for.
  20. They don't produce them until the model is quite a few years old. well out of warranty.
  21. .phase please leave now. ermmurray put this post up for people that like the Fox. IT IS NOT DULL IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IT it is probably not as good as a lupo but it is NOT as said above a replacement for the Lupo. It is a good car beats the citroen c1 hands down (and with prices rising you can get a Fox for less) it is aVW and has good space inside 4 adults very comfortably take and the boot is big enough to take luggage not just a tea towel. It gets you from A-B-C-D in a nice space good high driving position (if you like that kind of thing) I like it if you don't post your comments somewhere else.
  22. 15" wheels look good on a fox. My local tyre fitter dose alloys that you can get various center caps for like (BMW M3 wheels with VW caps) they do wheel tyre balancing and alignment all together for a set price, I guess other places do the same. Not sure about coilies. (I personally would not go to low)
