  1. mine was the same before i the linkage went! dont know what was up with it never took much notice tbh! now ive replaced the linkage i just cant get it to catch reverse at all! it goes into first!
  2. so guys i have a 99 arosa! and the bi*ch just wont get reverse! The gearlinkage is fu*ked at the gear stick the place where you adjust the linkage is rounded out so i cant tighten it up! it also cant connect to the car at the subframe because that snapped off and...i dont have any pictures of it...at the moment! i got reverse before and it worked for like 5 mins then it came out i,know ive been adjusting it right because i got it to work so is it the thing at the subframe? Ive heard the other type of linkage doesnt have the need to connect it at that point? any help thanks!
  3. so hey guys ive a mighty fine 1.0 arosa! ( pain ) anyway - English is not my first language so hey! haha,, this is mostly a thread for myself to see progress and document my car! (golf ) anyway its a car for autosolo/autotesting...a stupid amoount of work has gone into this car! its had a new 1.4 engine after the 1.0 blew (rev rev! ) and i sold the 1.4 for some cash and another 1.0 i had from a old slammed polo went in (retardedly low lasted a few weeks- had little mot/nct on it so...lol! i knew it wasnt going to pass.... ) honeslty miss this little beast!... wish id never completely ruined it id like another but most of them over here in ireland are scrap heaps! haha the arosa has had new hubs all around and subframe after a crash witha curb! it has no interior, light weight bro! need to sort out the rear drum breaks now - i hate those things! i want to swap to disks... theres a guy up the my road with 2 mk2 gti's just rotting not sure if they are fake and kitted but..ill ask about those disk breaks! also the bloody gear linkage! the car has cable linkage, where it connects to the car at the subframe its snapped off? is this the reason i just cant get reverse? or am i going wrong someplace else? also the nut that adjusts the linkage at the gear stick is worn out and basically no thread there so i cant tighten it up anyway? what if i changed to rod type linkage? does that need to connect at the subframe i read somewhere it doesn't? have i mixed these two up? haha ! also flat tires because ...because! The arosa needs lows! and nice painted steelies and tires lol...student life!
