  1. close, but no cigar :) the sound deadening clips have a hole in so you can see the stud sticking out through the top when they're in place. A bit like type that hold the washer bottle in place, or hold cables/pipes against the engine bay. you'll notice that these are much prettier... (there's another clue)
  2. they're smaller i think, with a different edge. good guess. try again
  3. here we go fellow lupo/arosa ists. where does this go? two are used. as far as i can tell (ETKA), they are not used anywhere else on the car. About 15mm diameter. they have a part number, but i've taken the shots so you can't cheat. clue: you can see them on the car if you look carefully, and you dont need to dismantle or remove anything (apart from to take this pic!).
  4. ooh er. tell us more. never heard anything about this....
  5. did you do the work, or who did the interesting bits?
  6. never having met or even spoken to Rich, me thinks a twenty somthing with opposing x-y genetic tendencies to him would be very much in order. lacking for quite a while by the looks of things we need to be nice to the fella.
  7. how many rpm to get the 226? i wanna do the math 2.8 or 2.9?
  8. i don't like "Up"s either. Very sensible getting rid. Fox (Brazillian factory) was better than Up, but still didn't have build quality of a lupo. Mk2 golfs are still running...! What has happened to Vdub's build quality???
  9. agreed. very very nice. well taken pics too.
  10. welcome to our little lupo world! nice looking motor.
  11. the injection system is the same. identical. but, the quantity adjuster or plunger is programmed to dispense more fuel at higher revs in the 1.9. BUT, if you could reprogram an SDI ECU (remap), it'd work fine. I'm 100% sure, now that I've been through the entire injection system. lupo quiz... i've thought of a new part. need to take a pic of it first. no-one will ever get this one!
  12. i'll buy your steering wheel
  13. mk2

    Carbon Lupo

seriously cool. i'll have one please.
  14. it's just a pulley. whole used engine £200 on ebay. so maybe a fiver? "i hope it's not too expensive dear seller. i only have a thousand pounds on me...."
  15. fits on a micro sd card then, the size of my little finger nail....
  16. i don't know the part, but couldn't it be welded?
  17. would you split? i only can use the rears, as the fronts are different for all models... different mass engines!
  18. to move the slam panel, don't you need to access the bolts behind the bumper? as in you can't get to it without stripping lots out of the way? never done it, but the gap is small, like 10-12mm...
  19. correct! next....? (ok, so everyone knows i only have SDIs) but used in most timing belt position critical pulleys, on most engines. it slots into the shaft and locks a pulley in place (just in case you have no idea what we're talking about) to stop it rotating on the shaft.
  20. ok, where does this very critical thing go? without it, all hell breaks loose. i should have put some scale in there, but it's about 13mm long and looks just like a rare earth magnet (but isn't).
  21. nice result. that'll outlast the rest of the car!
