  1. Lots of things to try here, glad I took note to watch. Thanks guys. Ian
  2. Hi I'll watch this with interest There seems to be some contention about removing the trumpets, all in all I'm of the opinion that they should stay, have a read of http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/44351-how-to-remove-intake-restrictors-sdi/ You say the re-map will 'only' produce 12bhp, you realise that's roughly an 18% increase! What increase in torque will this remap bring and if you don't mind me asking, how much? Cheers Ian
  3. Right, better put the buggers back on then Cheers Ian
  4. Ah yes that makes sense! I'll be giving that a go in the near future, my inlets are as badly fouled up as yours, so I'll be looking forward to better running too! Are you putting the trumpets (restrictors?) back? Cheers Ian
  5. I'll be watching this with interest, I started down the same route just the other day but ran out of time, I also couldn't figure how to remove the unit attached to the right of the manifold, I could have split the breather pipe but thought better of it. It looked simple enough, one allen headed bolt and a single nut, but once the nut was off the unit wouldn't budge, any thoughts? Please get those pictures up I'm a numpty and need all the assistance I can get! Cheers Ian
  6. Hi All I was going to put this in the 'How to remove' thread but it won't let me play! So, whilst investigating a seriously noisy rattle that developed on my way back from Gloucester on Sunday (turns out the flexible braided section is FUBAR), I removed the airbox etc and the restrictors, I was also intending to whip off the manifold and give it a good clean. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to remove the unit attached to the right of the manifold, I could have split the breather pipe but thought better of it. Can anyone advise me how it comes off? Ta Ian
  7. Hi Guys Thanks for all the positivity, sorry hadn’t seen the replies until now. My commute from Kingston to Harrow seems to throw up quite a few Lupos, I do like the camaraderie, ie the waving, haven’t noticed that in cars since my MG days, a good few years ago. I'll be sure to look that up Unlikely, I spend very little time in Kingston, but I will look out for you , is that your Lupo in your avatar? Ian
  8. Hi all As you can see I'm Ian, based in Kingston upon Thames. Have recently been given a 2000 Sdi by my sister in law. She was going to scrap it as the airbag warning light wouldn't go off, she needed to get rid but wouldn't sell it on because of the fault!!! Its a bright yellow jobbie with 98k on the clock, own by her from new. I believe it's what you seem to term a 'poverty model'? So hello and looking forwar to some brain picking in the future Ian
