  1. the number plate might be worth a few quid too
  2. I have spoken to the seller, good engine and g/box but has had accident damage to the drivers front, alloy wheel, driveshaft snapped and intrusion into floor near the pedal box corner, he's also started dismantling the car in that he's dropped out the engine and g/box, a shame really as even as described it would repair.
  3. agree with Sausage, gearbox aside these are tough cars and worth repairing, what are its faults I think this is the advert https://www.gumtree.com/p/seat/seat-arosa-1.4-tdi-s-105bhp-remapped-breaking-/1188969119
  4. there are a couple of Arosa out there http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172338035594?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-seat-arosa-1-4tdi-s-same-as-vw-lupo/262620059628?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D38661%26meid%3D535be36c708d40de9f6402985dad1384%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D172338035594 the mileage is never an issue with the TDi
  5. given the pollution problems that diesel causes I'd expect taxation to change in favour of fuel efficient petrols, the £30 bargain may not last much longer
  6. not many on the bay at the moment, this one is tired http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-LUPO-SPORT-1-4-TDI-/172333654740?hash=item281fe2e2d4:g:JIIAAOSwFe5X0DWX but the seller seems honest in that he admitted the g/box is faulty around 3rd gear changes [= syncros]
  7. Speak to Lee at X Hands Auto Spares, 07428 587 682 he'll have the parts and can probably guide you through it too or if want help to do it there's a good VW specialist called R-Tec in what was the Gower College' Motor Training Garage Kingsbridge, Gorseinon 01792 897575
  8. Have you tried cat cleaner in your petrol, I've used it a few times and its always worked for me, a cheap fix if it works
  9. A very novel colour scheme and mods to the front end http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-LUPO-1-7-SDI-DIESEL-NEW-MOT/112118437472?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D38813%26meid%3D111a5a68911148ed864a13c1cb3c2357%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D152229992278 it has nothing to do with me the colour scheme caught my eye
  10. the front seats in the Arosa Sport are amongst the best ever made, pm me please if they are still available, I'd add that to see a sunroof on any Arosa makes it a rare car, indeed have you thought about saving it
  11. the front seats in the Arosa Sport are amongst the best ever made, pm me please if they are still available
  12. thats a very clean underside, many front wishbones are badly rusted
  13. Barely run in at that mileage only issue is the fragility of the gearbox; I suppose any increase in torque will put it more at risk if you remap the engine. I'm not saying it's particularly weak it isn't, but it's prone to issues around 3rd gear syncros and thats the gear we love best for maximum acceleration
  14. Syncros fail on 3rd gear, mine had the problem of not going into 3rd on the way down the gearbox but it was fine going up. The gearbox was rebuilt by our well respected local gearbox specialist, but the price including re fitting circa £500 was considerable and this problem renders many TDI repairs uneconomic
  15. Fair point but in the UK our motorways are either clogged with traffic or over policed with speed cameras. Our A roads are neglected as well, most are rutted and potholed so exploiting a GTI or a Sport is fairly difficult. Oh for the empty well cared for roads of France. Don't tell me the Autobahns are great in Germany, they are also hit and miss with many having only 2 lanes and in poor condition
  16. The TDI is arguably too heavy at the front end with only 3 cylinders, 4 cylinders with wider wheels and lowered suspension makes a poor argument and with the central exhaust no good for towing. It is pretty though
  17. I have white teardrops on my Lupo Auto, I wouldn't claim to look classy as the car is lowered but as they came from a Mk 2 Scirocco, adding a bit of that cars magic would be nice addition. I'm not sure there's anything classy about an UP/Mii or a CitiGO aren't they just white goods?
  18. Ann, have you sold your GTI; if not give me a call on 07518 785 005

    thanks

  19. who are the best source for these for my Arosa Sport, does anyone do complete kits rather than pricey pairs
