this one is local to me, it needs a repair to the bonnet leading edge, has no sunroof, no rear windows and no aircon but the mileage is low http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Lupo-1-4TDI-PD-SPORT-Edition-Factory-Satnav-GTI-Seats-30-Tax-/172378589898?hash=item2822908aca:g:vo8AAOSwLnBX9-RQ a comedy price though

Auto Trader says £1790 in good condition but you'd need to factor in the wing replacement
-
why not remove weight; fit the aluminium bits off a GTI and move the battery to the boot
-
We are lucky in that where we are in South Wales it's quite rare for salt to be put on the roads so the only rust I've ever seen on a Loop or an Arosa [apart from the roof channels] is on the front suspension which when all said and done is just painted steel
-
Is that the pretty very light blue car that was for sale a couple of years back, surprised at the rust issue given the chassis are supposed to be galvanised, how bad is this, generalised or specific bits that can be cut out and patched
-
a hint of minilite about them, I like them
-
Thanks I'll try that in future
-
I tried paint thinners with no joy
-
could the ratios in the 6 speed gti gearbox be altered to suit the tdi, basically keep the 5 tdi ratios and add an overdrive ratio as the 6th
-
I cut it off as best I could with a stanley and used a sanding block, theres probably a solvent out there that'll do it but I'd expect it to take the paint and my skin with it too so I didn't go down that route
-
Not a difficult job, but it is messy, time consuming and frustrating to get the original out and clean off all the rubbery gunge, plus you need some captive nuts for the B pillar to fit the pop out. I started it on an Arosa TDI and after doing one side I decided against the other
-
You are better off asking local body shops, there's one next to the VW specialist Andrew Lennox, on Gors Avenue, they are busy and that's usually a good sign
-
You won't regret buying, the TDI is a relaxed drive, at our national speed limit it's only doing 2500 revs
-
Welcome; if you look at this link to an e-bay add, have a look at the pictures of the interior and you will see the factory sat nav fitted. These sat nav's do come up on e-bay mainly from Golf 4's but I've also seen Skoda items too. Only if you want the factory look. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Lupo-1-4TDI-PD-SPORT-Edition-Factory-Satnav-GTI-Seats-30-Tax-/172378589898?hash=item2822908aca:g:vo8AAOSwLnBX9-RQ

Looking for Lupo GTI.....low miles and low owners
weslangdon replied to Jackbudden's topic in Cars for Sale
any more detail, the mileage isn't a problem for me -
I've got corrosion on the roof of my red Lupo Auto right hand side, the cars out of warranty so no chance of a gratis repair and its really only cosmetic. Strangely or not we have corrosion on either of our two Arosa's
-
thats a very very low mileage, have you done a data check before the purchase, always worth the couple of quid it costs, put some pics up when u get the chance
-
As a family have 4 different Lupo's and Arosa's; a TDI, a 100 bhp Sport, a 75bhp SE and an Auto. The Auto has the best brakes despite having no rear discs and only 239mm discs up front, the worst are those of the TDI, despite having 256's up front. Next best are the Sport the only car with discs all round. The poor quality of the TDI's stoppers concerns me as discs pads and rear shoes have all been replaced in the past year, particularly so as this is the fastest point to point car we have, I don't want to fit rear discs because of the problems of seized calipers they bring so a G60 upgrade half appeals though I'd rather not have to find 15's to fit. Is there another option?
-
I've checked them too, seem ok, I think its the sunroof drain pipe
-
I've tried a bit of electrical wire but with no success
-
I think that it would leak all of the time when it rains if it were the door, but it only happens when the sun roof should be draining into the right front corner. This makes me thing the drain is blocked but so far I cant find where the outlet should be. The fact of it being lowered doesn't help
-
when the drivers side of my Lupo Auto is parked pointing in a slight downward direction it leaks into the drivers footwell and the rear passengers footwell after rain, I've tried putting a wire down the right side drain hole for the sunroof with no success, any ideas
-
just that gearbox needs to be taken off to replace the clutch; get your local vw specialist to have a look, they should be familiar with the issue from both Lupo's and Polo 6n2's. Yours doesn't sound that bad so the stiffness is most likely clutch, better to fix it before the pedal box is affected
-
have a look at these threads on a heavy clutch http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forums/topic/316912-clutch-problem-or-pedal-box/ neither gives a clear cut answer but the 2nd is better, I'd guess its the clutch release bearing that means gearbox off and new clutch
-
Fair comment, and to be honest I've had all these problems in only 1 car an Arosa Sport so probably unfair to tar the lot with all of these issues; but a stiff clutch can lead to a broken pedal box and in tandem to gear selection issues, a cascade effect
