  1. Thanks very much for the help. Did the job at the weekend in the great English weather. As you said, was a bubble flare which required just a single flare (one action) I ordered the tool which allows you to do the brake lines whilst still on the car, mainly because of how well it has been reviewed and its simplicity. No leaks or loss of fluid so far, will keep a check on it over the week.
  2. I need to replace the hard lines from the ABS pump to each front brake calipers. I believe the pipe is 3/16 but unsure what type of brake flare I need? Most online suggest double flare but have seen some mention bubble flare Can the flares be interchanged? Are the fittings M10x1.0 but aslo may be a m12x1.0?
  3. Now sold. Sorry not for sale
  4. Price reduced to £2000 I have been driving the car more recently and the clutch issue has pretty much resolved it's self. I'm guessing it was because it has stood for a while and needing bedding back in. Not entirely sure but it no longer concerns me. Anyway, please no more dreamers asking to swap for a Corsa b 😂
  5. £2250 Lupo GTi Moon silver - earlier of the silvers not to be confused with reflex silver 5 speed gearbox 12 months MOT 136k mileage 1 key 17 owners Full log book Plenty of reciepts Inc genuine VW parts HPI clear Inc proof I have owned the car for around 5 years and in this time I have made it road worthy. The engine is smooth, doesn't burn oil or coolant and pulls well. Gearbox is smooth and goes into every gear without any crunches, whining or grinding. Full cambelt and waterpump 1k miles ago (may 2020) Brand new genuine VW thermostat housing Full service (oil, coolant, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter, spark plugs) Rebuilt front calipers and carriers (seals and paint) New Wishbones New Track rod ends New Front wheel hubs and bearings Hub knuckles shot blasted and painted Driveshafts cleaned and repacked New Arb droplinks Lowered on H&N springs Replaced all 4 Abs sensors All window switches work as should Pop out rear windows New handbrake cables Check straps repaired (no clunking) Aluminium doors, wings and bonnet Seat bolsters have been repaired with new cloth so no holes or tears Rear quarter panels in very good condition Please bare in mind the car is now 20 years old and does require some work to maintain the car. Some rust spots on the tailgate and on the roof gutters. There are a couple small dents and paint could be refreshed in places. I have taken off the original Bathurst alloys and replaced with the Cambridge edition. There's is a small amount of shaking on moving from 1st gear so might need a clutch in the future but is currently not a hindrance. Starter motor sometimes squeals on turn over which is a common problem but has no ill effect starting. A previous owner has drilled 2 (6mm) holes on the inside of the doors presuming for tweeters. I have filled these with blanking plugs. A bit of spray paint and they would be a lot less noticeable. The wheels could do with an alignment. I just never got round to it after changing the suspension components. The reason for sale is that I have 2 other Lupo GTIs and don't have the space or the time for a third. They are fast becoming a future classic with prices and availability relfecting this. Brilliant car that handles great. One of the cheapest GTIs currently on the market. Car is located in Sheffield 5 minutes from J35. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I have been as honest as possible so that we don't waste my time or yours. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JUutmTACZexSfgvNqP4zTaubjtMh3njg?usp=sharing
  6. Now fixed (hopefully) Found a old alternator and swapped over the regulators. 0.02amps now 13.8v charge 13.5v under load Will charge the battery overnight and watch over the next week or two
  7. I'll going to order an alternator regulator and hope that resolves it. The internet says that it's a diode which is faulty and is allowing current back through the alternator. I have crossed reference with a good GTi and once the alternator was isolated the amps matched. Because the alternator was sufficient in providing enough charge I hadn't had thought it would be at fault.
  8. I've been having a parasitic drain issue on the GTi. Battery at 12.6v Charging at 14.2v All accessories on charging at 13.8v The drain is 0.50amps tested on a 10amp multimeter in series. I pulled all fuses which made no difference I disconnected the main 100amp fuse in the bonnet. Bingo, amps now at 0.05 Main fuse back on Alternator plug and wire disconnected same again 0.05 Looks to be an alternator diode issue? Is it just a case of replacing the voltage regulator in the alternator?
  9. Could you put a hole saw through it? Would that then leave you with a nice circle to weld back up with? I've never done it, just a thought?
  10. Is that the sub frame bolt? was it just spinning and so you've cut the head of the bolt off?
  11. No, literally like a solid key (like what you get with standard Lupo). I also rang a local garage who are renowned who can supply, cut and program for £80. I do have a full ECU lock kit from another Lupo GTi but after finding where the CCM unit is located (right at the top above the fuse box!) I'll try to get one paired. As above, hopefully they can sort it for £80, at that price not worth the messing about.
  12. Ok, could do with finding a remote, any tips to figure this out? I have rang VW today and quoted £60 to pair a remote (surprised at that price) but was unable to get me price on a remote fob at this moment in time.
  13. Can you tell me how you paired the remote fob and which fob I need to purchase?
  14. Also the only aftermarket I can find is the Kam racing at £842 Inc cat 🙃
  15. I had it welded about 2 months ago as don't have access to a welder and lack the skills. I will be returning it to the company that did it and see what happens. This is why I like doing things myself as then I am the only to blame! I think I will swap it from my other GTI for the time being and look at repairing it myself. I know of someone with a stick welder with this suffice?
  16. The flexi has snapped. I have had a look for a replacement part although there aren't any listed for the GTI or usually are not the correct size. I believe both the sport and GTI have the same diameter exhaust? The GTI is around 2" 50mm diameter and the standard 1.0 and 1.4 are less. Has anybody been able to purchase a new one?
  17. Anybody have suggestions for a shark fin aerial? Been looking at these: https://www.co-star.co.uk/4104/am-fm-dab-dab-shark-fin-ant-a-3775-01/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eightwood-Antenna-Adapter-Splitter-Amplifier-SMB-Shark-Fin-Aerial/dp/B07FZVZTZR?th=1&psc=1 Any good? What have you used?
  18. Are golf MK4 the same? eBay 222838481282 Would they work?
  19. The immobiliser part is fine. Runs and drives no problems. It's literally just the pairing of a remote unlock and lock.
  20. Thanks for replies. All I need to do is get the remote fob paired with the car. I do have a spare 6n2 GTi fob which could be used? I'm guessing they are similar? It's just the process of pairing them? Would this work to code them? My other option is that I believe I do have a spare GTi ECU and immobiliser that has 2 keys. So I would just have to swap the ECU and immobiliser. Keep the existing key and barrels then swap the existing cut key into the new fobs.
