If you click on "all activity" to find out the latest gossip on here, chances are there will be some discussions that will not show up. There are premium members who have a private discussion group. I don't know what you need to do to become a premium member... I imagine that there is an administrator/moderator level above this too? :)

Can't see "all activity" anyway, let alone unseen discussions so really feeling like I'm missing out 😂😂😂

  2. Surprised this morning to see a tidy Lupo in Fantasia Green in Abingdon, solid headrests but not sure of the spec level as the back end was clean but plate started with a T, followed it onto the A34 heading south. Would have given you a wave but as I wasn't in the Lupo it'd have been confusing 🙂

Ah yes, thank you for clarifying that, I had no idea @kt_lou_gti was taking the piss…

I do occasionally😂, prices are what people are prepared to pay, but don't necessarily recognise the detail of what they're buying, that's why these forums are so good, a wealth of good, honest information  .......... Mk2 Escort RS are a case in point, wish I'd kept mine now☹️

  4. Changed pads and discs early 2019 and used Pagid from Euro Car Parts, they've done approx 10 - 12,000 mixed miles in all weathers. I've no complaints and only occasionally feel the ABS ......... I'm obviously driving too gently😂😂😂
Worth noting, the painted coating on the complete disc has stood up well to the weather, the swept area cleared very quickly.

I'm going to have to sit this one out guys. Given up trying to fill up. Either long queues or empty pumps. Got enough petrol for work next week. Hope the meet goes well.

Ah, that's a shame, meet you at the next one 🙂 See the rest of you guys at 11.00

  6. Shame about the 5th, but on the upside I won't miss it now 😊 Can do most weekends apart from 5th & 12th September, I'd still stick with Wallingford if that still works with everyone, like was said earlier it would be good to get as many there as possible.

I recently bought 1.4 / 2002 Lupo and I am not sure if I should have a central locking system in the car or not?

All the doors work perfectly with the key, but I was just curious if this model has central locking system and it is just broken.

I believe all models except 'E' had lock operated central locking, the GTI additionally had remote operation as well.

The lock sensor switches are a very well known "issue" across all vdub models of our Lupo era. An easy check is if the interior light works correctly.

As @mk2says, if the lock mechanism and its multi switches are working correctly then the interior light should come on when you open the door, but once you close the door the light should remain on for some 30 seconds then go out or go out if you've turned on the ignition within the 30 seconds. Additionally the 'lights on' buzzer is another indicator that all is well with the door lock; if you turn on the sidelights with the drivers door open then a buzzer will sound reminding you to turn the lights off.

  9. Benson is a good shout, unfortunately it tends to get very busy and the car park fills up. Another thought is the 'H' Cafe further up the road near Berinsfield but that's a Motorcycle haunt primarily. Google maps has thrown up another possibility .... The Cartshed Cafe, which is the other side of the A4074 from RAF Benson, looks like it has a reasonable car park behind MMR Research.
