Gti Tie Rods - a study in how not to get ripped off
Mr.Badbrains replied to LR5V's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
He wants to compare his rod with yours. -
No, everything works like new.

I have an OEM Polo 6r aerial, would recommend. It's a bit longer than the Sharan stubby one.

The brakes are starting to feel all ok after a few times of bleeding. There is still some air in the system I believe but the brakes bite a lot higher now than from where I started. A bigger master cylinder wouldn't be a bad idea. DSC_6387 DSC_6404 A few interior shots: DSC_6397 DSC_6400 DSC_6424

Ebay is where I got mine. Google lupo window regulator repair kit clips.

Thank you. So far no complains with the discs. The gear knob is a one-off from CDIY. Made out of recycled skateboards.

Recaros painted with Furniture Clinic products. Changed the color from gray to light cream. Not quite sure what to do with the plastic parts but they are staying gray for now.

Check the brake booster vacuum line.

Answering to myself, thats a crankcase breather oil trap.
-
...Btw who knows what is that black plastic thingy on the block behind the engine? Something to do with the crankcase breathing. There is some minor coolant and/or oil leak there.

Here is an easy and cheap fix for noisy window regulators. Whenever I closed the doors while windows were down there was a nasty rattle. Turned out the plastic sliders were worn out and loose. Replaced those and greased the guides and its all good and silent.

Short shifter done

I still suggest to get a second hand manual mirror from Ebay or where ever you can find it. I payed something like 15€ of mine. Those parts get expensive from a dealer.

The Sharan badge? Part number 7M3 853 630 A FDY from the dealer.

Door cards done. Next painting the seats with something not so gray...
-
It would be cheaper to just get a manual one and bolt the motor from the old mirror in it.

Yeah some people just don't understand the beauty of these.
