  1. I managed to get mine second hand, cups, airline, pressure gauge and all connections for £330 but everything was bend new minus the cups which where used on jack smiths Mazda for a short space of time, I then got a compressor from Jon at JHPropaint for £50 and cost me about £15 for a switch, relay, wire and spade connectors, really simple install too with me not running a tank, get full lift in about 10 seconds direct from compressor, you can get it brand new from stance solutions but I have seen a couple of set ups knocking around online in the past month
  2. For anyone that may encounter this issue in the future It was because the cord that fits into the exterior handle wasn't seated in the correct place, I had pulled it out a bit too far before clipping it in, it needs to just be pulled to where it sits comfortably (not slack and no tension)
  3. Took handles off today and painted them, simply loosened off the bolt for the barrel, slid that out and then pulled the handle after unclipping the pull cord Refitted in the same manner and tested the doors open and close all fine However locked one of the doors and unlocked it and it doesn't actually unlock, door pin pops up but the mechanism it's self stays locked so the door won't open Any ideas?
  4. Thanks for the advice, I've ordered a set of the poly top mounts and ill whip the bumpstops out which are only about 30mm anyway so hopefully with a chassis notch I should be able to get it another 30-40mm down when I let the pressure out the static+
  5. I've got my lupo on a set of KW coilovers (not sure which ones as it's just how I bought it), anyway I also have a stance solutions static+ kit I got cheap off a friend which obviously replaces the helper springs, I've wound down the coils to the very last threads and it doesn't seem any where near as low as I was expecting from seeing photos of other lupos, only thing I've not checked is if it's sitting on the bump stops which I will do in daylight tomorrow anybody else have an issue with getting the front down on KW coileys or have any recommendations?
  6. This is what I'm talking about Two ports left is blanked off and right has the blue sensor I replaced http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x22/dadude01/Mobile%20Uploads/E371FBC2-70BF-45FE-8646-F9E257B9F637.jpg There seems to be a sensor in the radiator which has wires to the fan and to the main loom, could it possibly be that one that feeds the dash information as well as the fan and the blue one in the thermostats just feeds the ECU?
  7. GSF seem to bring up two temp sensors for my car (put reg in) blue which I replaced and then this one http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x22/dadude01/Mobile%20Uploads/EC6D6FA2-5747-403F-9837-C8FD6409B3E1.png Where is that located because the second hole next to the blue one is blanked off
  8. Hey guy, Temp guage isn't working on my lupo e 1.4 16v I've replaced the blue temp sender and still no luck Any other ideas?
  9. Surprised nobody has answered this sooner I'm making am assumption here as I'm new to lupos and have a lupo E 1.4 16v, and have previously owned polos As far as I'm aware the lupo, early polos, early golfs share the same gearbox casings,, you should be able to fit say a polo 6n box to your engine, the only thing that can cause an issue is the difference in linkages (rod and cable) although either of these can be addapted to work with the other type of linkage, there is a thread on clubpolo
  10. Managed to sort the PS pipe yesterday for a measly £20 and spent today just wire brushing the surface rush and gave it a lick of paint, over the weekend I've also had the carpet and sound deadening out to rinse and clean them while I mopped up the lake that had formed in the footwell.. Culprit turned out to be the bonnet release cable grommet in the acuttle tray so that's had a hefty serving of silicone and it seems to have don't the job Also fixed the wipers as a bracket holding the ball and socket joint had snapped so managed to get myself a spare for free Wing has been purchased and should hopefully arrive tomorrow along with a set of Phillips Blue vision bulbs, I refuse to run HIDs because they just blind everybody! Also topped up the engines fluids and had my first little drive of it round the block, seemed to be running pretty lean and had a lumpy idle, then I realised the temp guage wasn't working so a new blue temp sensor has been ordered to see if that helps it run any better Luckily have a week off work so tomorrow is a bright (probably not so bright) and early start to firstly get the PS pipe and wing fitted (as long as it arrives) and then give the car a good clean and polish before I upload any pictures. Ill set up a build thread tomorrow when I've got a few pictures because we all love pictures and words are boring! So on that note, peace out and good night.
  11. Good morning guys and gals The names Jamie and ive recently just purchased myself my first lupo which I will be collecting tomorrow so no pics for now im afraid. Its a 1999 lupo E 1.4 16v in soft blue (although it looks like a gay purple) and its sat ok FK coilovers and some standard alloys. I purchased it from a friend for a whole £200 due to it having to T&T so needing a few bits to get it road legal New Windscreen O/S wing Wing mirror glass and a high pressure pipe for the power steering system once ive replaced these my friend has said he will pass it as he is luckily an MOT tester which will come in handy down the road as he has agreed to disregard any issues with emissions in the future as we discussed my plans for it which consists on bike carbs. From looking through this forum it would seem your not a fan of carbs but unfortunately ive been a long time member of clubpolo having owned a polo 6n for a while and things like carbs have kinda stuck with me Now I have my first question from you guys, theres a lot of moisture inside said lupo on the drivers side which I immediately presumed it would be the door seal but after abit of reading it seems it could be the drain holes in the door which are blocked. is there anything else I should check when I pick it up tomorrow before ordering a new door seal? Also for the PS pipe it seams the lupo arosa and polo 6n used the same part, can anybody confirm if this is correct? and if possible does anyone have one for sale? ill be searching through the classifieds though Glad to be here, seems like a nice forum and theres a lot of nice examples of lupos for a complete novice of lupo styling like myself to pick up on Cheers for any advice you may have guys
