  1. Thanks everyone for the fantastic replies. I'm happy to keep her running around for as long as I can. I'm considering another run around too, a summer car really. The lupos my 4th car, and by far my favourite and I think I'm just gonna keep on maintaining. Thanks again, Frost
  2. Not sure where this kind of topic should belong, so I thought I'd ask in here. I have a 53 Plate Lupo Sport, and I'm reaching 100,000 miles far quicker than I anticipated. The situation I have, is do I pack up and sell it on, or do I keep her running and let the miles add up. My main concern is that the more miles I'm gaining, the re-sale value of my loop is dwindling away! I bought her for £1500, I've lowered her, and kept her well maintained. And I wouldn't want something too distant from the original price. I could go for an engine refurb later or something? I just wanna know people opinions on the matter Cheers, Frost
  3. It hasn't stopped yet no, shall I be concerned? I'm gonna be raising the front of my car slightly later on. I doubt it'll stop the creaking, but we'll see. Just means I've got to get realigned -.-
  4. I have myself a set of JOM Coilovers which were running really nicely. Last couple of days i've been noticing a strange creaking/squeaking from when I go to full right lock, back to straightening up. I think it's definitely coming from the Drivers Side set up. Tonight I thought I'd jack it up and have a gander what was going on behind the wheel and discovered that the rubber sheath type thing which covers the shock had been getting pinched in the spring, and had proceeded to pretty much completely torn off. It was hanging by a thread so I proceeded to pull it off fully. I was just wondering whether it matters that this cover is now gone. Obviously grit etc could get down the shock tube I guess, but it didn't look like it was doing much anyway. Finally, whether it's related or not. I've noticed a light rattling noise coming from the bonnet area, again, could be around the right hand strut. I thought it could be the buckles on the underside of my bonnet bra, I pulled over, removed it, yet it continued. What could this be, and should I be concerned?
  5. As most people - Just read the thread from start to end; It's madness. Seriously love this Lupo, inside and out. And you're right, it's the details which makes the car.
  6. It was only 10's on the rear, 8.5 fronts And I only really wanted them because they were just so ridicuous! I went to purchase some, but it was around 4 days before they were gonna get any in! Couldn't be arsed with that.
  7. So this is gonna be my build thread for my little black loop! You'll soon see as to why my build is 'emotional'. There are elements to it which were painfully slow and frustrating. I've been lurking on Club Lupo for some time now, and have been meaning to get round to making a decent thread such as this one, I just never had the time! So now's my chance! Most of the photos are taken at my girlfriend's house in Southampton. So here she is a few miles down the road after I bought her. A Black 1.4 Sport, 53 Plate, 95k Miles, much steeper than I'd normally go for, but I was dying for a Lupo! So despite all the mixed reviews, and everything I read to put me off them, I bought some JOM Coilovers to fulfil my longing for some lows! When I purchased these from Venom Motorsport, I was originally under the impression that they would take 2-3 Days. 3 weeks later and a number of times of getting messed around by Venom, they arrived. In the mean time, I decided to fill my time with some other easy mods. I was also desperate to re-trim my headlining, as to me it was unheard of! So I went ahead and bought some fabric: This was actually the second time wrapping the headlining, the first time I did it, it was with some sketchy orange Hawaiian shirt pattern, done with some crappy spray on adhesive from WHSmiths which didn't last long at all. So second time lucky, done with some Trim-Fix, this is how it turned out! And in situe: Now it was on to tackle my suspension, and this is where it starts to get messy. So problem number 1, after wrestling with the top of the shock, this happened: Only gone and split the thread! And being new to modifying, this was terrifying. And I was tempted to take it to a garage, but I reused! I EVENTUALLY managed to undo the top nut by getting some mole grips as tight as I could around the shock, and proceeding to undo it as normal. (After purchasing a 21mm spanner) -.- Now onto problem number 2. This could easily have been avoided, but due to my ignorance and haste I managed to turn the nut so much in the wrong direction, it ate away the thread. By the time I realised I was turning it the wrong way, it was too late. And when I tried turning the correct way, nothing was happening. So I decided to try cut it off - More Difficult that I initial thought. This photo is after day 3 of trying to cut it off, before I finally gave in. I went to a garage to get it grinded off. Top marks for commitment. Once again, due to me being in such a rush, I went ahead and fitted the coilovers. The spanner I had didn't fit inside the ripper lip of the top assembly. So I bought yet another spanner, a swan neck 21mm spanner. Which didn't even fit?!! So I foolishly thought I could get away without removing the existing top assembly to put on the coil overs, and I put them on the car! ...and then it looked like this: Oh hello shock! what are you doing there?! I then went to a garage to get the top assembly socked off, after again spending more money on spring compressors and compressing the springs myself. FINALLY I got them fitted in the car correctly. Whilst fitting, I hadn't even bothered thinking of camber, and when I did, I didn't think it would matter. My car then ended up like this: Looking broken?! Please note the broken off wing mirror - This was the result of a cow pushing past my car, squeezing between a fence and mine and my mum's car, snapping off both of our nearside wing mirrors. The joys of living in the New Forest! Although, the camber gave me decent lows! no rubbing eh? Probably the most accurate height tester - The mince pie. So finally went to the alignment centre to get it sorted out! My baby on the lift! And for those who it makes sense to: Almost 5 degrees of camber on one wheel!! Oops. Quick snap at my girlfriend's house: I accumulated 2 dents in the space of 2 weeks. What a joke, the joys of parking in a college car park. This is the worse of the two: Another snap after a wash! Sainsbury's Selfies: And with some Instagram love: Now most recently i've bought myself an OEM Roof rack - As I surf, and ski. I felt as though it was necessary! What's not in the photo's - Debadged rear - LED Numberplate Lights Plans: - I need some wheels bad! Yet i'm spoilt for choice and terrified to become a wheel whore. It was hard to turn down some 10j steelies! - Induction Kit - Obviously replace my mirror - Sort the bodywork dramas. And in an ideal world i'd like to smooth both front and rear! - Remove rear adjuster to get the back lower. Cheers for having a look! Big plans in mind. Watch this space.
  8. I was driving towards southampton and before I knew it a decked lupo was on my tail. It was bright green, covered in flowery stickers and had checkered wing mirrors. Carried on behind it until J5 on the M27 where I turned off.

    Hello!

So, I'm Sam. Bought a Lupo 2 days ago - (Black 1.4 Sport 16v) and I'm absolutely loving it. It's my third car, just got done with a Citroen C2 (Thank God). I have big plans for this little lupo, but i'm not gonna let anything slip just yet! But i'll be on it soon. I'm on the Southcoast - Southampton, Bournemouth and Salisbury mainly, so I may see some of you around. Pictures and build thread to follow! Frost
