  1. All fixed. The car sounds so good when I'm driving it. Kinda sound like my sisters Nissan lol. It hasn't cut out since which is great. It judders a bit when I sit at junctions or park up but I'm getting used to that but happy with how it's driving
  2. Cleaning the throttle body seemed to do the trick. It hasn't cut out since it's been cleaned Had the cam belt done today, but it's got another problem now. My mechanic installed and afterwards the car wouldn't start. He's saying it has something to do with some temperature gauge which needs replacing. He reckons that's why it's been cutting out... It's never had problems starting before apart from when it needed a new battery. So hoping tomorrow he will fix that because getting fed up of these problems which seem to pop up one after another.
  3. It had an MOT and service in March, done at the same time. Cleaned the throttle body today which was covered in oil. Hoping that will help, I'm driving to work tomorrow so will see if it's made a difference. The oil in the car was also very low, despite only filling it a few weeks ago so topped that up. I'm also going to top the power steering fluid up because that's on minimum. I've booked my mechanic for Tuesday to change the cambelt (it's currently on 112k miles so needs doing soon) and hopefully have a look at my engine. Thanks for the comments, will keep you updated.
  4. Hi, I'm having a few problems with my Lupo 1.4s at the moment and wondering if anyone has any advise. It's been cutting out a lot when I brake or slow down. Normally when I put the clutch down the car just cuts out and the battery light flicks on. It wasn't so bad a first but now it's starting to really worry me because it can cut out like 6 times or more in just the 45 minute drive to work. A lot of the time it cuts out briefly, jolts and comes straight back to life. Other times I've had it cut out and not been able to start it for a while. I literally sit at roundabouts with my hazards on trying to get it started again. I've read that cleaning the throttle body can fix this so hoping my boyfriend can show me how to do that tomorrow. But has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it? The other problem today was the steering felt really heavy. It still has power steering but doesn't feel quite right. It was a lot of effort going around corners and parking. I'm going to check tyre pressure tomorrow but could it be something else? I did hit some debris on the motorway on Wednesday which made a loud noise/bang under my car, so I hope it's not damaged it :S I'm trying to find a better car but until then has anyone got any advise which might make my daily commute a little easier? I love my little Lupo but I'm a complete noob with cars so any help would be appreciated

    Bek's Lupo

Hi Rich! Haha yeah I live in Guiseley and was at the Halfway House. Seen loads of Lupo's around this area recently out and about. Actually it's like club lupo on my street, there's a blue one on this road and another red one in the car park behind. We're still sorting out the suspension, there was something wrong with the topmount yesterday so it's still work in progress. We took it through Yeadon and couldn't get over the speed bumps so it's higher than it was. The camber is a little better but still not great. I always eye up the green one driving around this area. I finally met the owner the other week and she's owned hers from new. Was like
  6. I asked about that, they said that they still couldn't insure me as they have cancelled and that's final. They even told me not to bother with their other trading names, bell and elephant. I rang up and checked and he quoted for over 50mm, so I don't think the staff member knew about the policy. Anyway, it's just a warning to say if you check, do a double with them.
  7. Hi everyone, Just thought I'd share my experiences of this company as a warning really. I was insured with Admiral for my first car which was a Polo. After a year I decided I wanted a Lupo so I bought the Lupo and put it on fully comp with Admiral and asked them to put my Polo on third party indefinitely until I sold it as I wasn't driving it much and trying to sell it. I logged into my account one day to double check that my partner was still insured to drive the Polo and it said the insurance had been cancelled. I'd been driving that car around without being insured despite Admiral saying it would be covered 3rd party! That could have cost me my drivers license. They argued I'd said one month but they record all conversations and I had said I wanted it third party until I cancelled it. My second problem with them has been this week. I rang them up and asked them if I could still be insured with them if I put coilovers on my car and lowered it. They said yeah that's fine, an extra £29 a year. I even double checked and got them to confirm it was correct. So I put the coilovers on and rang them to declare it on my insurance as you have to otherwise your insurance may be void. They said I'm sorry but as of now your insurance is cancelled we do not allow people to lower their cars more than 50mm. Something they had said was fine previously in the week as they asked how low I was going to go. So right there and then they cancelled my insurance, didn't even get me chance to get it off the road it was parked on. So I've now had to go with the next best insurer which is Brentacre, costing me an extra £400 a year! If Admiral had told be correct in the first place I wouldn't have lowered it as in my opinion it's not worth the extra £400. Since then they have still been taking money from my account even though they cancelled my insurance. So more phone calls to get my money back, which I'm running low on as I've had to pay a £500 deposit to the new insurer to get a cheaper deal. So just be very careful when modifying your car. Also check, check and check again with them as they don't seem to listen and give incorrect information. That's just my experience, I hope everyone else has had a better time with them. Now I'm thinking it might be better paying the £400 extra for a company who so far seem to be very friendly and know what they're talking about.

On the car at last! Only took a whole day lol. To be honest it's a little lower than I wanted it. Yeah I know! But we did the speed bump test and it failed big time scratching all under the car. So tomorrow it's going up slightly and the camber needs sorting too.

Haha I wish! He's put a lot of time, effort and money into his car. It does sit in the garage and mine's out on the road and used a lot so it's not going to be as clean. Hopefully it will look better once we've made a few changes though. But to be honest I don't think it's ever going to compare to the G40, lol.
