It does sound throaty although I was reluctant to fit an induction kit but it was the only option I had. Any questions just ask. Ryan.

So far I have saved 50kg. Removed so far: Rear Seats, all carpet, headliner, all grab handles, interior light, rear door cards, rear plastic turret covers, spare wheel, jack-brace kit etc., radio, cup holder/tray, inner boot trims and many other bits I can't remember. Still to do: Speakers, aerial, wiring that is no longer required and lower centre console surround.

Have you tried sport seats 4 u?

now the induction kit is fitted i've been able to have a good drive since the braces were fitted and to be fair it does seem more precise and slightly less roll but that just might be in the mind. anti-roll bars next and a few more trims to take off because there is not much more to take off from inside.

fitted the kit earlier, for a ebay item i can't fault it. pics: apart from a 51mm (2'') to 76mm (3'') 90 degree elbow everything is in the box and more. i'm sure if needed you can ask for any type of filter, the one that i had which i will explain later why was an enclosed one. there was more pipes than necessary, adaptor tubes for breathers, clamps, silicone tube, jubilee clips and a nifty chrome tube with three grommets blocked off with caps which can be removed to put the breathers in. picture of the elbow, from ebay mr. silicone (other suppliers available), had to take an inch off because as you can see before it was cut it was catching the strut brace. looks a bit ''bling'' but was needed and fitted perfectly and the reason why i choose enclosed filter was there is an air vent behind the grille feeding air directly into the filter. what you can't see in the pic is the breather hose from the top of the cylinder head going into the nifty tube part and the vaccum hose sitting behind it. what you can see on the left is the crankcase hose with a breather filter on which we would of rathered been going into the elbow but time was against us so will have to make do for now as it won't cause much harm. ask me for any other details in case i missed any out because it was a lot easier to do than expected and you don't need to be very skilled or have specialist tools. My kit consisting of tubing, clamps and filters have turned up also the elbow has so will post up some pics after fitting tonight. Looking at that filter all you will need is some pipping which you can measure up. Keep you posted.

My kit as listed on Ebay was £43.99 and also not sue yet if its needed a 90 degree silicone elbow at £20.00.

Was getting thrown out of the workshop because it was closing time and didn't have enough time to take the strut brace back off and refit the air box. Also I thought that arosa 1.0 induction kits were ready available but when I started searching it became clear their not.

Clearance is fine,I would argue it isn't a cheap bit of kit but with the hassle I've had with the upper I'll say nothing, they could of made the lower one slightly better as well looking at how its made. The welding on all three is shocking and the red paint job that they came in was done by a child looking at it hence the colour change on them.

I know Joe but I do less than 10 miles a day and its getting done Friday.

Thanks got the reply Chrissbee, never plan on going that low but thanks for the heads up. If I knew that I would of gone for the OMP one but it never stated mods for the weichers so thought it would be plain sailing. Got induction kit in the post so all goes well I'll be sorted on Friday.

Currently waiting for a universal one to come from Ebay for my 1L, going to fit Friday, been driving round since last Friday with nothing on and that makes a difference.

On Friday me and a good friend who just happens to be a vw master tech and who is also into tuning very heavly fitted the rear upper, front upper and front lower weichers strut braces to my arosa. Just a bit of advice if any one is going to do it, expect as usual when ''tuning'' they are not a straight fit and modifications are required. The rear one is straight forward just a bit fiddly tightening the nuts up in the rear wheel arch but if there is two of you it's a lot easier. Lower front was a bit tricky, had to undo the bolt for the engine mount to free the engine and push the whole engine up because the bolt that needed to come out of the right lower (if your sat in the car) chassis arm couldn't because the sump was in the way. Not a major drama but near impossible/inconvenient without an engine/gearbox stay. Front upper has caused the most problems. I tried offering it up to see which end goes where because it has a slight incline one end with 3 holes and a sharp incline the other end with 2 holes, four bolts are supplied to fit the brace. There are studs sticking up out of the strut housing but only one lines up with one of the holes so we picked that way. They give you a bracket and instructions in German but kind of self explanatory (we thought) to relocate the washer bottle. We had too take the washer bottle off so we could get the brace to fit flush because the fittings for the washer bottle are in the way, so the battery came out to make things easier and so did the coolant bottle. The studs got cut off that were in the way so we could then offer the brace up but then it was clear the engine cover was to high and the brace was around 5cm from touching the body so the engine cover was removed as well. The holes were then drilled to fit the brace and it was bolted down. You could just about unscrew the brake reservoir lid when fitted. We tried to fit the engine cover back on just in case a miracle happened but it wouldn't, then tried to modify the engine cover/air box but no joy so the need for an induction kit was the only solution. We then tried using the bracket supplied to relocate the washer bottle but the only place it sat right was where the battery goes, makes sense if it was a lupo gti! So we ditched the bracket and secured the bottle with just two pf the fixings and the coolant bottle bracket had to be bent so I can now just about take the lid off but now the bottle is on a slant. Time was against us and we did have a look to see if the bracket could relocate the coolant bottle but couldn't see a definitive location, after looking at pics on the net it is the coolant bottle that gets shifted so will have to look at that again. My problem is now I'm driving round without any engine filters and breather pipes hanging because it was to much work to take the brace back off and refit the engine cover. Luckily the car doesn't go far but I don't want to sort out an induction kit because I have contacted the people I got it from and explained as it doesn't state modifications are needed other than the washer bottle this is a bit of miss selling going on and they said they have now contacted weichers with pics I provided to see if it is the correct one supplied and if it is then they might help me out with an induction kit. If anyone has got this far and has got 1.0 (auc) lupo or arosa and have fitted an induction kit, what did you do with the crankcase, oil and air breather pipes please? and what make/setup did you opt for? Ii bought the Weichers strut braces, only fitted the rear and it made a slight difference, still got the front upper and lower to go on. Quite reasonably priced as well.

Not that its much help to you but I was for 8 years and just been made redundant from my current job so might be back into soon. Will keep you posted.

Thanks koop. I found some on Ebay last night which accepted returns but made a school boy error and said their actually for An arosa and he came back with, won't fit so you have them you can't return them. I can live with a slide rub on the floor pan for the amount of repositioning I do.

Still on the look out for the mk4 gt tdi ones, just to clarify as I haven't got any carpet in the car the seat belt receiver shouldn't catch so no mods required out will it rub on the runner bracket attached to the car?

Thanks for that koop. After looking for some recaros they are slightly out of my price range but remembered the seats fitted in the mk4 gttdi as standard are a half decent seat so as I'm in a bit of a rush I think I'll give them a try.

I've just stripped out the majority of the interior on my mk2 arosa. I'm now left with the standard seats but want them out so I can sell the seats as a whole but when looking for a different set of seats and reading older posts I'm under the impression mk4 golf recaros will go in with slight modification but is this due to the carpet catching or the runners being slightly different because I haven't got any carpet in there now for it to catch on if that's the issue. Also due to the lack of decent used lupo/arosa front seats available I came across sport seats for you which do a make auto style,I know you usually get what you pay for but is there anyone who have had any experiences with these as for what they are they seem to be quite reasonably priced. Like Vince said books etc.mean nothing if the work hasn't been carried out even though it does provide a bit of reassurance, after working in the motor trade for ten years things are not always done the correct way. I'm with , the 1.0's are fun for what they are.

AROSA.Al I did enjoy all the sourcing and info that I could provide and some times I was busier on line than in the workplace and to add I wasn't doing it as a private seller all Sales went through the company to insure the warranty etc.on all parts was still legit.

Funny you say that Rich because all though the cars that were of topic on there were more vast than just say what are on club LUPO the bitchyness and clicky groups were quite annoying, not saying that it might not be the same on here but what I've read so far it doesn't seem to exist as much, also the level of expectancy on here in general is a lot less and more easy going.
