Seen the current Beetle wheels. Very nice but I imagine i'll need deep pockets with them being a new wheel. Plan is to keep costs low and have the Lupo as my daily hack while money goes into the focus. Evenin all. The plan for my Lupo is to get some 15" G60 steels and then try to work out how to fit white walls and VW Beetle chrome centre caps. One thing i've been looking at is order banded steels from www.bandedwheels.com - Has anyone heard of/used them before? - Whats the maximum width I could go to with a 40mm drop before arches require rolling? - How easy/whats involved with fitted the beetle hub caps? Ta in advance.

See my post above. I reckon you'll finish that spending less that a grand, and anyone with access to basic tools should be able to do it themselves. Then you can start adding things like a fruity interior.

Whats the difference between Members Cars & Project cars? Also, I can no longer see Project Cars, is this a premium thing?

Spotted a bright green lupo, lowered on some Ronal Turbos heading up towards Manor top. I was in the ST, not the lupo!

Motorsport? With a 1L Lupo? Best going for a beach themed cruiser. 60mm springs on 15" G60 steels with white walls and a roof rack. Whole lot should cost you less than a grand, be cheap to insure and look the nuts.

My immediate response would be head gasket. Is there any gunk/mayo under the oil cap?

Not a fan, especially on black cars.

If you were running 60/40 or 40/40 springs whats your max on alloy size? I'm guessing any changes to wheels will need arches rolling?

IIRC can't you ft harness to the rear strut brace?

Hi all, recently upgraded the Lupo head unit, but i've noticed when I remove they, it 'resets' and I have to reprogram all my settings and go through the set up program again. Any ideas?

'sup people. Joined up as i've just bought my 3rd Lupo, so it seems like i'm always going to own one at some point, so i might as well become a member. My car history started off with the Polo and helping with UK Polos.net I then had a a few years off the road, finally got back with a lovely 1l Lupo. Was only doing a 1.5 mile commute so was perfect. It also had a plate ending WAK, so liberal use of a sharpie was applied for much hilarity. I swapped this for a dark blue 1.4 Lupo, which I later saw being hammered round Sheffield, with a massive exhaust. Felt incredibly bad for the car. :-( After the 1.4 i got a new job with a proper commute, so went for a dirty diesel. Added some decent OEM wheels but cba to lower it. After running that while I bought my house, i finally upgraded to some proper machinery... its a Ford Focus ST3 225 running a CP320 upgrade from Collins Performance. Its good for over 300hp and cracking on for 400 lb/ft of torque. And its orange. Which is brill. After picking up a car bra, roof rack and a bit of sticker bombing, i still couldn't scratch my VW itch. So in order to save some pennies on fuel, i came out of the closet and declared my VWuality with this... Its an 03 VWLupo 1.4 Auto (!) with 33k miles, full VW sh, in mint condition. One oap owner from new. Plans are to get some springs, second had wheels (design 90s or 928s) and go with a beach theme. Already have my Lay. See you at VW Festival ;-) Mac.
