  1. I'm with elephant and they put suspension drops into 2 bands. For me (22 years old) to declare a drop of 50mm or less and aftermarket alloys it only adds a little bit, about £20 I think, however if the drops >50mm it shoots waaaaaaay up. It obviously depends on your insurer though. I've always found elephant to be good, been with them a while. And yes you are supposed to declare aftermarket alloys usually.
  2. Stupid British car buyer's of 2001-05, because of not many lupo tdis selling, me a whole bunch of years later is struggling to find a good one. I put 2001 in there btw as i'm wanting a post 2001 tdi so it's £30 road tax and not £135!
  3. May explain why there's not very many for sale atm.....surprises me though as they're very economical and German (ie superior car). Suppose though folk were probably buying other gutless French rubbish or similar.
  4. Sounds a bit like me, never been a massive fan of lupos (until recently, look tiiiiidy with coils and nice alloys) but love vws especially mk2 golfs and vr6s. Wouldn't worry about not owning a lupo, I don't have one atm. I recently joined as i'm searching for one too and no ones told me to f off yet haha. Cya around. Sam Oh and just read you're driving a mk3 golf, nice, what kind?
  5. How close are they to the arches with the 16s?
  6. That's seriously low! Reminds me of my cousin's old mk4 golf, he had to plan his routes to avoid speedbumps haha There's still room for a wee bit more btw if you get smaller wheels
  7. Not bad, far better than I could probs do haha. The worst bit is the bit between front wheels and the ground, looks decent from a distance though! Nice wheel to shell combo too btw, red & white always go well together.
  8. If you're wanting cheap-ish AP is your best bet (many folk on my local vw forum rave about them). They're not cheapest but extremely good quality etc for the price. http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/ap-coilover-suspension-kitbr-lupo-10-14-14tdi-17sdi-1098-p-5089.html Should be able to pick up second hand ones far cheaper though!
  9. Saw that few days ago, zero road tax? Yes please!
  10. Will check this out later
  11. Cool, send Mr Lesar my regards.
  12. Do I know you or did you just do a search on my name? Trying to think who's 35 and drives an e46 m3....... An ATP is a trainee engineer so shoosh.....
  13. Dubshed in Northern Ireland Sunday 7th April Apparently a lot of Scottish folk go over.
  14. I think you've made the right choice there, good luck with polishing and hope it turns out well.
  15. At work just now so won't be able to click this link till I get home as facebook is blocked! The one there's a link to on the main page of this forum? That's the one i've liked....
  16. Good to see plenty tidy dubs as always! My mk3 golf vr6 highline
  17. I second what Skezza said, live with it. That's the problem with replacement bodywork, very very hard to get colours matching exactly. Personally I don't like stickerbombing but if's your car so my opinion doesn't really matter! From what you've said (it being only noticeable up close when pointed out) I think a complete respray is a waste of money.
  18. Aye i've liked it but there's only been 2 posts since it was created, last one almost a year ago.
  19. I've noticed on facebook there are plenty pages for the golf/corrado/polo etc and vr6/r32/gti etc but virtually nothing for the lupo. So outta half boredom I suppose I created one tonight to fill with pics of tidy lupos and other lupo related news/banter or whatever. Give it a like if you want: https://www.facebook.com/vwlupofans Also if anyone fancies being an admin gimme a shout.
  20. Sounds a tidy wee car, don't think i'd ever buy one though.
  21. Some tidy cars on this thread! I'm Sam from Aberdeen/Dundee (work is based in Aberdeen, offshore industry). Some of you may have seen me around ScottishVAG. Currently have a mk3 golf vr6 highline and on the look out for a decent lupo tdi for a new daily (hence why I joined the forum). Will fire up a pic of the lupo too once it's bought!
  22. Defo up for this! Should have my lupo tdi by then so with the economy that gives i'll drive anywhere in Scotland for a meet haha
  23. Looks a nice wee project you've got there, nice to see someone restoring a dub back to it's former glory. Will be good to see how this turns out. good luck.
