  1. Haha sounds like you both have a similar opinion of Dundee to me. I really like the city but at the same time it still is and always will be Scumdee! Just North of Dundee in South Angus there's some really nice houses and you get a lot for your money, somewhere I wouldn't mind living in the future.
  2. Aye but as much as they're cool, likes of rs2000 and rs turbo are very unreliable.... My dad used to have an rs2000 and a fiesta xr2 but my favourite of his old cars is definately his mk2 GTi 16v which he owned for 13 years (I was aged 3 to 16, so grew up in it). Very sad day when it was sold with 176,000 miles on the clock in excellent condition. Old fords are nice, but vws defo better, ooooft mk2 jettas, mk1 and 2 golfs, corrados etc
  3. No, not joking. I'm not much of a Ford person at all, got a soft spot for rs turbos, cosworths etc so know a bit about them. That is some amount of money, then again it is an iconic/classic car and pretty damn old now. I woulda thought they were worth £30/40k tops.
  4. Wow that's some epic thread, very impressive. Bookmarked.
  5. I think it was you that ripped Dundee yesterday anyways...?
  6. I stay in Aberdeenshire which is where my car is insured obviously. Aberdeenshire postcodes are slightly cheaper than Aberdeen ones for obvious reasons. LOL Dundee. Where you from btw? That's twice you've ripped Dundee recently, first guess would be Aberdeen on that basis?
  7. Is any mk1 escort even worth £85k?
  8. It depends where you live as well, North East Scotland where I live is supposed to be one of the cheapest places in UK for insurance, directly related to low population density too i'd imagine.
  9. Red will probs look good, and will be good to match interior like Tom_C said.
  10. What insurance group is a GTi? I'd imagine the GTi branding bumps it up a group or 2?
  11. I'd advise starting a topic on here titled "Lupo Coilover Advice" or sumin similar, folk on here will be able to recommend you a good cheap coilover.
  12. Haha aye German superior quality and reliability! Sounds a nice wee collection though.
  13. Ah wait I thought you were trying to make a joke about escorts as in hooker/prostitute hahaha. I mean mk4, 5 and 6s. Always forget about the old escorts!
  14. Yellow? Always goes well with black. White could work but then they'll get dirty really easily.
  15. I think paying more than a grand insurance at 19 is too much. At 19 I insured my Yaris T Sport (group 8) for £665 with one years no claims. Have you tried elephant for an insurance quote? They're good for young drivers.
  16. Escort rs turbos are going up in value now. Standard escorts are still worth next to nothing though, know a guy on another forum who picked up a 1.3 escort, absolutely mint, low mileage for age for a few hundred quid.
  17. A lot of folk with dubs seem to get those Autohaus Wolfburg surrounds. I got mine off ebay from a seller in Latvia who sells all sorts of different surounds. They have a VW logo with VOLKSWAGEN beside it at the bottom instead of Autohaus Wolfsburg etc. £9.99 for a pair including postage, quick delivery too, very pleased with them. Oh and lupo looking tidy with the coils! Personally not very keen on the black alloy to black shell combo though.
  18. Hahaha no I was at the work's office in Aberdeen, currently at my bro's flat (also in Aberdeen) and they've loaded ok woohoo. 2 very nice looking cars, I prefer the lupo though, up! has still got that horrible look a lot of modern cars have, big, rounded and heavy looking.
  19. Wait sorry no FK Silverlines are NOT cheaper than AP's, most FK coils are, but not silverlines. Tbh i'm no coilover expert, just no few bits about coilovers that have been recommended, personally I always go for quality and reliabilty at a good price ie AP. Top of the range coils like Koni & KW are almost £1000 a set brand new!
  20. I'm no expert on springs but I know they're a fair bit cheaper but I think you can't drop your ride height very much, hopefully someone will verify if i'm right? Thing with AP coilovers though is you get really good quality, long lasting, reliable coilovers for a really good price. Second hand is always good though, that's how I roll. FK Silverlines may be a good option too btw, they're cheaper than APs. I almost bought a brand new set for my vr6 (FK were doing a massive sale at the time).
  21. Looks awesome, just need some gold bbs rs's and it'll look siiiiiick. Any other plans for it?
  22. Pics still not loading I want to see! Must be bad connection here.....
  23. Oh and a turbo, exhaust, filter etc etc etc!
