  1. Lupo GTI Engine and Gearbox Description: For sale is the engine from my Lupo GTI, it's currently on 100,000 miles (may be slightly higher, can't remember). Will include coil pack, plugs, leads, inlet and exhaust manifold. Can include ECU + immobiliser box + immobiliser chip (x2) for an extra £50. Regularly serviced and maintained, folder full of history for the girl! I have a video of it running and a video showing a compression test across all cylinders. I'm 90% sure the gearbox has been rebuilt within its life but will have to confirm, all the signs of it being rebuilt are there. Location: Ringmer - Near Brighton in the South East. Postage: Collection is preferred. I will not ship. I can deliver if pre-arranged (within reason). Price: £500 for the two £300 each if separate. Thanks for looking!
  2. Cheeky photo banner at the bottom there!
  3. So quick update! Finally finished uni! Hooray! Still waiting on some marks but look set for a 2.1 which I'm mega happy about! (Touch wood!) In terms of car I've done a few things, finally fitted the front and rear updated ARB's. The rear has made a huge difference, the front it a little less noticeable but the car feels tighter and holds the road tonnes better than she used too! I've been helping a mate with his project, he's turboing an E46. It's running the full M spec running gear and it's fairly tidy but holy hell its a pita to work on! Started working with another team running a few new cars, couple of single sweaters and a few whacky things! I'll put some photos up later. I've got loads planned with the car, just trying to get some funds together now to buy the final little bits then there's going to be a big old chunk of updates! Anyway, thanks for reading! Matt
  4. That is absolutely perfect!!! Especially as I was quite worried about what I should do suspension wise when the APP goes in. Good info about the polybush set up. I was going to fork out for the Motorsport ones and make everything as solid as possible but I'll save that for a later date! Why did you Seam weld the wishbones, I'm guessing to reduce the amount of flex they have. Do you run any kind of LSD? Many thanks!!
  5. Where you located dude? I've got two, ones raven and ones silver. The raven needs a spray as it's quite marked from storage but I can't remember which side is which. Not interested in shipping it but could deliver as Im going to a few tracks this year.
  6. Yeah the Leon is 5x100, I'm only having a look at swapping them over, it was mainly to just save some pennies to be honest! My old GTI was polybushed everywhere and had the G60 set up and I couldn't fault it. Handled the road incredibly! I bought the front ARB as well as I wanted the modicum of adjustability that comes with it, also looking for adjustable to plates too. (Haven't really looked yet tbh!) Thanks for the links, I'll check them out at some point! Matt
  7. That's excellent! Thanks Silver! Yeah I've got up-rated ARB's sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted. The cars on AP coilovers as well, very happy with the ride of them but I'm going to get some V3's as they've got the bump and rebound adjustment I'm after. As for brakes I'm in two minds, I've got the leon sitting in the garage and I'm tempted to just swap the full breaking system onto the lupo from that. They're 288mm I need to do some research on the performance of them and whats available for them at what price. Thanks Silver! Looking to take the car up to brands for some fun before I swap the engine into it!
  8. Hi guys and gals! I have a suspension related question. Not the standard "How low can i make my loop m8?!" or "wot happens wen i run helpers?" but hopefully one that'll grab the attention of the more knowledgeable and grown up members of this forum. Don't get me wrong, I love a nicely done bagged Lupo as much as the next guy but I personally prefer performance over "Stance." (To a degree ) SO. What do people know about the Lupo cup suspension systems? Are there any modifications to the wishbones or mounting locations to bring the roll centre of the vehicle back up to a more desired location? I.e. nearer the centre of gravity? I'm basically looking for information on what the Lupo's ran in the Lupo Cup and whether I'd be able to replicate it on my Lupo. Thanks in advance! Matt
  9. How many 300bhp+ Lupos are there anyway!? I can only think of three, maybe four off of the top of my head! I doubt the people who own them would be willing to sell them either! Buy a shed of a loop with a 1.8T in and be happy or do the work yourself, as said above the KO4's will struggle to make that kind of power. For doing a conversion (No offence but the vibe i'm getting is that you'd be way out of your depth) it would be best to start with a GTi or a TDi regardless.. Anyway back to the point of the thread, good luck finding a 300+ lupo for less than a fair penny!
  10. So it's been forever since i last updated this! I've been mega busy with uni, finishing off my final dissertation and racing! Spent a week up in Telford with the new formula Renault getting her ready for our first event at cadwell. Really good weekend, monoposto (event organisers) screwed us over though but hopefully it will be sorted soon enough! Also spent a day testing at brands with the 97 Renault. Really good day again as we were consistently knocking down our times! Anyway! Bought some goodies for the loop!! Bought front and rear updated ARB's. Just because she's got too much roll in the corners and I don't like it! Anyway that's all from me, I'll update again when I've got them! Thanks, Matt
  11. Haha no they had no lupo's in there day yard, didn't get into the Saturday yard obviously but he thought they may have had a black one.. I'm gonna play with elsa win, see what needs to go where and see if it was doable, didn't pay for them as they were hidden in my tool box lol so im not too fussed either way!! Yeah i read about that relay thing, i'll look into it some more but i don't like the stalks in the loop anyway lol The interior is lush it makes me fall in love with it every time i get in it lol We need to organise the panels, wheel and the undertray!! lol
  12. Tiny little update, went to the breakers near me (Pease Pottage) and picked up a few things, Got a new vent as one of the clips on my drivers side broke when refitting the dash, a set of mk4 golf wiper and indicator stalks as i'm gonna see about retrofitting them as they have the variable speed settings! and finally this, because its all about the small things! It's a polo 9n headlight switch, prefer it to the lupo one! p.s that wire in the background is my tweeter wiring, just because I haven't refitted them yet lol
  13. It took a while.. Probably about 6 hours, that's mainly because of the wiring as it was a pain!! I'm not entirely finished on the interior, I've got matching door cards and a matching gear gaiter to fit. Rear door cards Haven't been done yet as I'm going to upgrade the speakers to make it future proof and the gear gaiter as I want to get a new gear knob! Thanks for the comments
  14. So! I said i'd been working on something big... So here it is! I've wanted climatronic for a very long time and there's another thread on here with some bits in it but i'll collate them all here! So.. First off i bought the entire dash part of the climatronic off of a polo GTi... and here they are placed together with all the wiring plugged in... Right! So that's what I used.. Now this is what the car started like... Then some removal later.... and some more removal... Broke my clock spring getting the steering wheel off! Damn thing pinged off of the wheel when I compressed the clips to get the air bag off and ripped a wire out of the ribbon connector! Down the breakers I go! Then had to fully strip the Lupo's heater and fan box off. Once that was off and out I went about removing all of the motors and fitting them to the Lupo's existing boxes.. This was pretty easy, most of the mounts were already on the lupo box, just a few that needed to be taken and refitted. Annoyingly I forgot to take photos Once all of the polo bits had been fitted and the boxes all refitted I did a demo run, everything ran and worked! Then came the job of refitting the dash and all the interior. (Again sorry no photos). There it is in! (Not happy with how it sits, need to bring it forward which will be easy enough)! Then came the bit I've been pretty excited for... Still haven't fitted the door cards yet as I want to upgrade the audio first! That's it for this update.. Thanks for reading!
  15. Done. (Gonna swap how it's mounted, foolishly I mounted it in the same way the old one was mounted and it doesn't look right!!)
  16. Jealous of those wheels.. I'm so torn between these exact wheels and some Schmidt splits!!
  17. Fair enough Dblock, in my mind they're not the kind of thing that should be "bodged" with the incorrect tools. I don't mind paying dealer prices for things like this, at least it came with a 5 year warranty.
  18. For the wheel bearings there's specific tools for the job, but they're all really expensive. You need a tool like this... My local dealer charged £201.43 for a bearing replacement, the part cost half of that. Don't be fooled by the cheap bearings!
