  1. Mk3 golf 1.6 with Porsche D90's and a manifold back stainless exhaust. Couldn't insure it and sold it. Then my real first car was a mk3 polo 1.3 in Indian red. I lowered it and put it on banded steels. I loved that car to bits. Still do. Was sad to see it go. Only bad thing about it was when a blind old man drove into the side of me in a car park - joys!! Then a couple of days ago I bought my Lupo, and I love that now. I plan on keeping the Lupo for the foreseeable future. It's a lovely little car and when I get round to subtly modifying it, it'll be even nicer! And the mpg I get is fantastic!
  2. Hate to revive an old thread but a company I know claims 110bhp on the tdi after remap which would give a gti a run for its money when it's in boost, surely!?
  3. Haha thanks man! Was waiting for you to see this! Tell me more about #3!!? Yes definitely - one weekend soon ?
  4. Hello all, So this is the definitive remap thread - I was curious about what people were achieving from a TDI remap and figured we could gain some form of average through a thread like this. So, regardless of model, petrol or diesel, let me know what sort of gains you got from a remap (torque and bhp if you know it) and how much you paid please? Don't forget to mention what model you have! Not going to get one myself 'til insurance is up for renewal but am interested in what gains you can achieve for how much
  5. Old polo* Can't edit as I am on my phone!
  6. Thanks for the compliments everyone - I had been waiting a while for something like this to come up! I do believe it is one of the last TDI's, as the TDI's seem fairly uncommon compared to the others. Didn't pay THAT much for it though, considering some 1.0 53(ish) plate lupo's are on eBay for upwards of 3 grand!! Does anyone know if you can get a 55 plate Lupo or was 05 the last period they made them. I assume there's a couple of people who registered them late etc, but is it common? The cars are great. Awesome fun to drive! Cheap to run too. As for the toys - I've never seen other lupo's inside so I can't comment too much. It seems pretty posh, but then ive just come from an old lupo! It does have a lovely double DIN in it though, with sat nav and Bluetooth hands free and what not. There seems to be a lot more space than you'd expect from such a little car though!! Anyone from the South East ish, and fancy going to any meets soon? Would be nice to grab some photos with other lupo's!
  7. Probably a fuse, or a loose wire somewhere
  8. Nice arosa dude! Just a quick question - rear speaker holes? do these exist on a lupo? WHERE!? Awesome front bumper
  9. it's worth remembering actually we have excellent fuel in the UK compared to some of the stuff abroad. Octane 95 is standard for us. Although it is proven to make a difference as previously said before. I believe its to do with igniting the fuel. The octane level effectively tells you how much the fuel can be compressed before igniting. The idea being that if you ignite the fuel mid cycle, you'll not only lose power but could result in engine knocking. So yes, premium fuel is better for your engine in the long run and for power. Nonetheless, like i said, generally our fuel here is good so it all comes down to choice and the size of your wallet/purse i suppose, but you would benefit from it! PS - correct me if i got anything wrong there?
  10. same, but at the moment im dubbed to the min :/
  11. Hello everybody you're looking at the proud and happy new member of ClubLupo, after I purchased my 2005 1.4 TDI Black Lupo yesterday, after a long time waiting for the right thing to come up. Here's a picture, excuse the numberplate censoring... Some of you may recognise me from clubpolo? I'm honestly chuffed to bits with the car. It drives beautifully, is nippy as anything and is exactly what I've been after for a while. The MPG on these little things is crazy too. Awesome cars, very well built. The car is going to stay standard for now, until my insurance is up for renewal - or atleast until winter is over. After all, I'm only on an apprenticeship wage! I used to drive a lowered 1.3 mk3 polo on banded steels - very different to this! This has about 3 million times the torque too (slight exaggeration but not much), I can get up hills without losing all my momentum. Can honestly say, i've already fallen in love with the lupo! Will post more pics soon. Spent two hours if not more this morning polishing the car, for it then to get soaking wet and muddy. All part of the fun though aye! Hope to see you at some shows next year, feel free to stop me and say hi if you recognise the car All the best, Dan ps - any club lupo merchandise available? let me know.
