at my dealer recoding is £23.50 inc vat. can be done while you wait. can only be done at a dlr though. Its the remote and key that are expensive. Im looking into doing it on my GTI though. just gotta weigh up if its really worth it. Good luck.

im 20, 2 years no claims, no accident etc. £700 fully comp. was really ticked off though - 2 weeks til i had 3 yrs no claims and they wouldnt allow it cos it wasnt a full year when i started the policy. if id waited 2 weeks it'd have been just over £630 (sods) had to insure or i couldnt pick it up from the dealer and they couldnt tax it!! GRRRR.

Maybe a silly question. Will these badges definatly fit the GTI. Iv just my dealer to look them up, and they werent 100% sure if they'd fit. Just checking before I order them. Ta x

The GTI was designed to be a well performing small car. That it is. It cant be compared to high performance sports cars etc. If a faster car is what is wanted, why not get a golf gti etc?? just a suggestion I think the GTI should be left relativly standard with its original engine. They are so rare anyway, why change a good car?? Good luck if do you choose to go 1.8T, dont think Im being nasty at all. Really Im not!!! xxx

I am looking to get my GTI Chipped. I was very close to getting it done, when a guy at work had his Passat done (I know its probably different for other cars) but his is now really jolty and doesnt produce the power evenly, - just in one go. i was hoping you may be able to share your experience and let me know if there is anyone good to use, or any type of chip maybe? Just a little aprehencive with my new little car!! Ta!!

i have just bought and fitted these. they are really good. havent seen any for lower sill though.

Hi, Dont know if its any help. If we were to do it you'd be looking at the casing, then paint carge of 35 - 50.00 on top. its just what our bodyshop charges us, so cost has to be passed on. we'd never recommend customer buying spray can and doing it themselves!! can take up to 10 days to get back from our bodyshop too.... dont know about theirs though!!
