  1. hi mate. pretty easy to change yourself. only one which might give you abit of a problem is the gearbox one as you have to take the battery tray out and a few little pieces around it. jack the car up and get it on 2 axle stands. then use the jack to take the weight of the engine while you do the mounts. if I remember rightly the one under the car doesn't move when you unbolt it. its there to stop the engine twisting under torque mainly. hope this helps ryan
  2. hi guys. I have the polo gti 6n2 engine in my lupo. its a project iv been working on forawhile. going for boost. I was planning on running a 2.5mm spacer plate to drop the compression however I have spotted these on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300556458795?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 just wanted to see if the experienced tuners had any opinion on these. means I could run a bar instead of the 6psi I was planning on running. (btw this isn't another pipe dream thread I am 75% well into the build) cheers ryan
  3. hi mate. I have a brembo 4 pot set up on my lupo and im using the cupra r master cylinder. have to change a couple of pipe nuts but its well worth it. brakes are realy responsive. hope this helps
  4. £25 each from gsf, you get the ball joint and rod. then gaiters are £8 each. easy job to carry out if you have abit of mechanical savvy. just done mine then took it to tyres galore who track lowered cars. £66 for parts and £25 for tracking a lowered car. simples
  5. any power flow dealer will build you a system for 250-400 depending what you are after. I imagine your quote includes a cat which in itself is an expensive item. get the right cat for your car and buy a catback for it. problem solved.
  6. thought of using an aftermarket ecu ? omex for example. and run it along side the cars original ecu which will run clocks etc. worth thinkin about
  7. whats wrong with yours mate? people have used the 1.4 head. a few people have fitted the 1.4 head to the gti engine when boosting. never known anyone to fit a gti manifold to the 1.4 tho.
  8. just a roll of headlight tint.. got the head lamps fairy warm, then slightly stretched it over while my bro was applying a little heat with a heat gun. sticks really well and is 100% legal as when you look really close its actually a fine mesh so light shines straight through it
  9. the most boost you will get on those standard internals is 8psi at the very most mate. 1 bar on standard internals will get you around ten miles before your picking pieces of your pistons out of your turbo. meltdown. and those brakes are not good for 160 bhp.
  10. 2.5mm spacer plate loweres compression to 8:5:1. good turbo compression theres a company on ebay that will make you a decomp plate if you send them a head gasket

    whats vtec?

seemed to have a nice kick at 4500rpm. plus its very torquey anyway so all it would do at a lower rpm is increase wheel spin. its on its way to being boosted anyway so il be using the 1.4 cylinder head and getting rid off vvt so it hasn't really been something iv been to bothered with
  12. ryanlupot

    whats vtec?

the cars on an omex ecu so the vvt is where I chose it to be and the cars doesn't have any flat spots according to the dyno graphs I have of when me and a friend who has a rolling road where moving the vvt around to see the effects
  13. theres a thead on here mate for doing what your doing it called ''gti conversion for dummies'' or something like that. search it mate its quite helpful. I did this conversion how ever I used an omex ecu as im running boost
  14. it does fit with modifications mate. I think you have to blank the egr valve part of it. sure there is a topic on here somewhere if u search it

    whats vtec?

I am running the polo gti 1.6 vvt in my lupo.. my vvt comes in around 4500 rpm and you definitely feel it. not as aggressive as the type r but you still get the surge of power and noise. shame my gearbox doesn't like the 145bhp going through it
  16. tinted my lights myself today... thought id post up a few pics see what everyone thinks opinions please
  17. hi guys.. been a while since I posted up. need abit of help just fitted brembo 4 pots to the lupo.. brakes a lot better than it use to.. how ever I think I could do with a master cylinder upgrade as I have golf vr6 rear callipers on the rear of the lupo and Porsche boxster brembo 4pots on the front. any ideas as to a vw cylinder that will fit and make a good upgrade? project thread coming soon cheers ryan
  18. seen this arround also. seen oscar queing up to the fox hunter island a few times in the last month also
  19. pretty sure youl have to mess about with the wiring, depending if your running abs, etc. how ever i couldnt confirm it as iv never worked on the 75bhp or the 100bhp models. for the time and effort buy a polo gti 6n2 complete. put the engine, gearbox, looms etc etc into yours, theres a guide on here, called gti conversion for dummies. realy helpfull (not calling you a dummy) also you can have the front hubs of the polo for the bigger brakes on the front. even upgrade to 280mm set up. youl have better power gains (125bhp standard) obviously insurance will hike right up but youl have better power gains for money spent. plus the gti blocks mapps up realy well as im running omex600 on mine with a ashely 4branch and a 200cell sports cat and its made 140+bhp and the mapps only 90% finished. shud see another 5-8bhp quite easily with a good induction kit and the mapp at 100% worth considering before you jump in with both feet ryan

    omex issues

got this sorted in the end mate thanks to a megasquirt diagram. nearing the end of the mapping stage then im going to do a full build thread as its had alot of work done. cheeers ryan
  21. on my gti its between the engine and gearbox, but can be accessed by removing the starter. look arround that area mate, its a 3pin plug i think it is grey. cheers ryan
  22. must say that made me LOL
  23. well lupo build is almost done, finally got omex fitted and mapping almost complete. thanks to casper gti (john) selling me his brackets, going to fit these when i get the lupo back from the dyno, just need to get some custom brake lines porsche boxster rear brembo 4pot callipers, corrado g60 280mm/22mm drilled and grooved discs. fitted to spare gti hubs i had laying arround, new wheel bearings put in also. will start a complete build thread when he comes home monday. ryan
  24. use the search. gti conversion for dummies. is what the threads called i think ryan
  25. throttle body needs a good clean every now and then, i do mine every service, doesnt take long. and always a good place to start checking leads, as i had one that had corroded quite bad where it connected to the plug, crumbled away when i tried to clean it up. have a good luck around that area mate ryan
