  2. I need pictures, info & specs asap!!!!!!!
  3. An old album..... Edition 38 - 2006
  4. A well remapped tdi actually gives more, probably about 10-15% better from my experience.
  5. 17549/P1141/004417 - Load Calculation Cross Check: Implausible Value Possible Causes Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) OR Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71) faulty Vacuum Lines faulty Possible Solutions Check Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) OR Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71) Check Vacuum Lines Check Engine Operating Conditions => Meas. Blocks Special Notes Uwe: I think this code is set when the airflow being measured (or otherwise calculated) by the ECU doesn't make sense given other operating parameters such as RPM and throttle opening, manifold pressure, etc.
  6. There must be a joke somewhere about about trying to screw a fishy bird?!
  7. Diesel is apparently still a very 'Marmite' subject. .. Having driven turbo diesels for the last 4 out of 5 years (initially not my decision - there's only so many gearboxes you can blow up before you give up!) Im now used to how to drive them & how to get the most out of whats available in terms of response & power. This wasn't always the case though, initially stepping down from a tuned 2.0 16v to a turbo diesel I hated every minute. Too much lag, no high revving, it felt like hell. However after time to adjust my driving style, every time I get back into a petrol motor they just feel gutless & like they're going to explode when you rev them hard. Ultimately it depends what you want from you're car & how you're going to use it. I used to spend £120+ a week on fuel, pay £180 on road tax, well over £800 a year on insurance, could never find anywhere to park, & it could never find a road without a speed camera or policeman ready to nick me for speeding if I did want to have some fun. I now spend £15 a week on fuel, £35 on road tax, sub £400 on insurance, can park practically anywhere & if I want some fun I can just have a bit of blast down a b-road without having to get the car screaming like a banshee to get some power out of it. If I want serious power & high revving these days I think I'll be purchasing a Fireblade rather than car.
  8. Dickhead neighbours who drive into your car & dont say anything.
  9. Pah! Now this is what you call low flying!!!
  10. Hopefully with the SGOLD3 chip it looks like they're using for the 3G unit they'll also make use of its potential to raise the camera to 5MP too, if they can then I think they will have created an unbeatable all round 'consumer' handset.
  11. I've heard a rumour (and it is only a rumour at this point) from the network that you will be able to upgrade to the new 3G unit early if you have the original 8Gb. However, the downside to this is that there will be no discount on the handset + your contract will be reset to 18 months from the date you receive it. Nice way to repay brand loyalty!
  12. Rates are negotiable & anyone able to share a room with with Tigz for the night gets free accomodation + complimentary breakfast!
  13. It may have been announced a couple of months ago but it's actually in place now
  14. Looks like Apple have announced that they have now licenced the Microsoft ActiveSync protocol, which means it will make it much easier for the I-Phone to do push email and sync contacts with Exchange servers & Outlook on the desktop, which in turn will make it a much more viable option for business users (instead of Blackberry or HTC). Hook that up with the SDK developers package & it could make things a bit more interesting over the coming months
  15. THE BIG 3-0!!!! Hope your having a good one
  16. Soak them in Cillit bang (I kid you not) for about a day & it should lift the chrome off (it will ever so slightly eat into the alloy where its flaked & work underneath the chrome layering) you can then polish the alloy with a drill mop.
  17. Bloody hell, you can lift twice your own body weight?!
  18. Isn't the Gti glass a slightly different shape on the top rear corner too?
  19. Not dodgy at all, that's how Mitch & I both did ours! Its all about using a little bit of common sense really.
  20. Florists - Muggers in disguise!
  21. Blaupunkt usually have a tiny fuse built in underneath the power connection on the back of the unit, try checking that one. BTW where are you checking your +ve feed from?
  22. Check the fuse box as both feeds run off seperate circuits.
  23. Easy way to stop them falling out is to put some tie/zip wraps round the bottom coil & through the hole in the mounting plate. Job done
