  1. Still got it, still adding more mods to it! I'll try & post some pics of the interior soon, but as its a black leather setup from a Lupo GTI google will show you what they look like
  2. Still got it, just about to put some new genuine front pads on it as the road/race ones were ****e putting it mildly. Also just replaced the aero wipers (genuine parts again) & should be getting it professionally valeted soon too. Price will be dropped slightly as something has caught my eye & may be looking for a quick sale
  3. Driving the car I wouldn't say the turbo spools up any faster, that is something more controlled by the physical aspect of the turbo rather than any ECU control. What the remap has done is improve the response up to the 1900-2000rpm point where the turbo spools up, which is perfect if you want to drive for total economy rather than just booting it everywhere. The standard engine is poop, no doubt about it but with only 75bhp & 109lbft torque you can see why! With the tuning the redline is still at 4500 or slightly over, but due to the gearing/torque combination you dont need any more rev range (the car will pull to redline in 5th anyway). The turbo lag is only briefly noticeable in 1st gear but the gearing in the TDI gearbox makes up for this & from 2nd gear up there are no issues as the torque & rpm range is more than sufficient. I've had this side by side with a Lupo GTI & while the GTI has the legs on 1st & 2nd gear, by the time you're in 3rd the TDI has caught up & is going past it beyond that point as the torque is pretty fierce for a car of this size & weight - stick in 5th at 45mph & it will happily pull through to 3 figure speeds without a cough or splutter & all without sounding like your wring the t*ts off it & screaming like the petrol engine. Thanks for the offer Caz but I'm being tempted by 3.5 litres of M-Sport goodness at the moment

Other than that its sweet! Having owned this car for nearly 8yrs now I've decided that I've taken it as far as I possibly can & am now looking for a new project, probably of the Bavarian variety. There is lots of paperwork & receipts to go with this car, although the service stamps only go up to around 38k as I've done 90% of the work myself being a trained mechanic. The car has had an oil & filter change every 10k (I get it free so why not!) & as this has always been a daily driver I've not scrimped on anything so that its runs & drives properly, & if its need to be replaced I've always used genuine VAG parts where possible. Being a TDI it's easy to get 70MPG on a motorway run & also high figures round town, drivability has been improved imensly by the remap & tuning & the newly reconditoned brakes are scarily good (recently managed to lock up the fronts at 70mph!). I dont get on here much these days but will try to check back as & when possible. Any questions please ask Pictures:

I know what you mean Rich, but I just want shot of them (& hopefully it's happened), should be lots of other free/cheap bits getting listed soon as I've got a garage full o' crap that needs clearing!
  8. Kingston upon Thames - Surrey/London borders
  9. Not sure this is the right section to place this ad but hey ho... Basically I have a set of 15" Polo GTI BBS RX2 alloys in need of refurbing, they are free to a good home (I need them gone asap!). As with most free things there are a couple of catches:- 1. All the bolts have been removed, however they have also been lost so you will basically get 4 centres & 4 barrells only. 2. I need them gone this week (by thursday - COLLECTION ONLY). 3. 1st to come & get them has them - I wont hold on to them. Thats it! Message me asap if you want them
  10. May consider a lupo rear if its already smoothed
  11. New, used, smoothed... What you got?
  12. Check the wiring inside the door at the front where it exits the door & then goes through to the car itself. Sometimes the tape that holds the loom in position in the door slackens or gives up the ghost which means the door loom then gets rubbed or eventually cut by the window moving up & down. If this happens to the right cable in the loom it will cause the central locking to misbehave like you've described. Had the same problem myself & it droves me nuts for weeks!
  13. The Gti will fit all lupos & Mk2 Arosas but you'll need the GTI clocks or there'll be a big hole between your speedo & rev counter.

    Top Mounts

Top mounts usually comes with the bearing & they are the same part for all models. You could also do the lower ball joints & lower wishbones while the strut is out as a good way of 'tightening' everthing up. Bear in mind while the wishbones are the same across the range, the GTI has different lower ball joints that give it a wider track so may sure you get the right ones if you decide to do them.
  15. Check the rear bolts on your lower wishbones are properly torqued up, I had the same issue & it drove me nuts for days. Even after initially torquing them up correctly they neede checking again after a few hundred miles.
  16. Ok, just found it on this site via Google Germany?! 6E0 807 421 D (GRU) - upper part of the bumper - 98,60 EUR (grounded) 6E0 807 521 B (B41) - lower part of the bumper - 37,55 EUR (black) 6E0 810 971 D - the inner parts of the rear wheel arche 6E0 810 972 D - 19,85 EUR each
  17. Would consider a barrel with damaged centre, or a centre with damaged barrel (centre must be 4x100)
  18. How much for the wheels on there own? The tyres are too chunky for my liking
  19. Tried searching on here, tried my shocking German to seach online, can I find it? Hell no! Anyone know the part code for the 3L rear bumper? My motor got rear ended by a hit & run at the weekend & I need a new bumper desperado!
  20. If you've still got the plastic undertray fitted take it off & get a (min 3mm thick) piece of metal cut to cover the sump area, rivet it onto the tray using washers on the other side so it doesnt pull off. Refit the tray & let that take the abuse.
