I've got oil poring out the clutch bell housing and definetly from gearbox !! I think it might be the seal around the shaft that gose through the clutch but not sure!! Can this seal be replaced or do I need a gear box if so what box do I need ?? Any help please

When I bought it I was told the clutch had gone and it had an oil leak !! So i put a clutch in and changed the crank seal as this was where I thought the oil was coming from!! But it's still pissing out so not sure how to fix leak !! It also smokes a lot so I changed the valve stem seals,

Not realy worried what engine !! The reason for wanting to swap is the enige in the car has 130,000 on clock and is pissing out oil and burning loads !! I would just put a 1.4 16v back in but don't want same problem again.

hi all im new to lupos and am not a big car mechanic im normaly working on bikes !! but anyway ive bought a 1999 lupo 1.4 16v with engine code AHW as a project, i wanted to do an engine conversion but whats the best engine to go for ?? ive read lots about the 6n2 polo gti !! but what other engines will be a easy ish job ?? i can get me hands on 1999 polo clasic 1.6 not sure on engine code yet but will find out !! would this be a sutible engine ?? would be very greatfull for any help thanks

Hi I've had my car mot'd and it failed on the emissions !! But the details at the top of the sheet are wrong I've got a 1.4 16v but the sheet says 1076cc !! Dose anyone have a emissions sheet from a 1.4 that the could post the max limits !! Thanks

The max limit is Fast & 2nd fast idle Co level 0.30 Hc level 200 Lambda 1.03 Natural idle Co level 0.50 How can I find out the limits for my car ??

Fast idle - co level 0.54%. Hc level 221 ppm Lambda 1.14 Second fast idle - Co level 0.68% Hc level 200 ppm Lambda 1.14 Natural idle - Co level 0.41% Also just noticed that the emissions sheet has got that it engine size is 1076 but the car is a 1.4 would this make a difference??

Hi hope some one can help me!! I bought a 1999 1.4 lupo that has the ahw engine with 10700 miles as a project, when I bought it had a oil leak from the crank seal that I had changed !! So Ive taken it for a mot and it failed on a ball joint/wheel bearing& dreaded emissions on all three tests !! Ive changed the valve stem seal / lambda sensor / air filter / and run some redex through @ about 2500 rpm, and cleaned all the parts when doin the seals as the throttle body was full of black oily gunk!! When it's gone back to mot and it fails again, so I bring it home and do a compression test that was reading around 12 bar on 3 cylinders and 11 bar on the 4th cylinder !! Dose anyone have any ideas what this could be ??

I think it's gearbox oil !! If I change the seal how do I refill with oil? And how much dose it take ?? Thanks for quick reply
