  1. Looks real nice. You wouldn't see another in that colour either if that was your car. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  2. Spotted this parked in disabled at Big 'W' at Portrack Lane. Was very clean.

    nfbr's TDI

    Wow such an immaculate car you got there. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Covered with elbow grease though... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> .
  4. Nice car you got there. Liking the mudflaps! I think TDi badge is needed though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> What mileage are you on?
  5. I love the wheels too, thats why I got it! Yeah I'm going to keep to the subtle mods though, I'm thinking of getting the bumpers colour coded/smoothed, but because its black you wont see it that much. Oh and people seem to call them all sorts, I've even seen one for sale called 'metallic lakeland green' or something like that. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  6. My Lupo SE was made in Belgium. There seems to be a lot of different places where they were made style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> .
  7. That's a shame, but I suppose if you can't afford it... What colour was your 'SE' by the way?
  8. I wouldn't know what had hit me either. I shall have to be extra vigilant style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. Nice one mate style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I'ts great when you can just go out on your own. Feels strange the first time though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  10. Nice style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> . Liking that yellow too. How about some mudflaps (not oo expensive), or de-bump-strip (free!) style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  11. Im so chuffed with it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> thanks guys Got a set of mudflaps before off ebay, i'll keep looking The previous owner cant have been too fussed about paintwork, and there are loads of light scratches everywhere, this is the one thing I'd really like sorted. I'd like to lower it a bit (VW seem to offer a lowered suspension kit [6X0 071 676]; don't know if its any good), but I think it may increase my insurance, so the mudflaps will do for now style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But id really love a this grill: car Ive only seen it on this car, I love it. Also, maybe a boot spoiler and stubby mirror, and some audio (undecided yet). Am I really the first member with a Cambridge style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> Oh and I've just realised I haven't even got a photo of the famous cambridge lights style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />
  12. Hi there, I've just got a 1.4 (not sport) lupo, 17, been passed 1 month. my insurance was 1700 fully comp, on my own, pass plus, with my mum as a named driver (with Quinn-direct). The important thing is to pass your test, then you can take your time to find the best lupo for you. Good luck with your test (P.S. I'd love a GTI too, but i got a quote for £12,000 style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> )
  13. After months of careful searching, I've just got my own Lupo. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> Umm, It's got quite a few scratches on it, I would like them sorting. Desperately need some mudflaps though But im loving it so far :D If anyone has any questions this may help: As far as I know... The Lupo 'SE' (called cambridge edition im germany) was just a limited edition trim level. They all have either '52' or '03' registrations. They came in two colours, Fresco Green and Black. They came with either 1.0, 1.4 (75 bhp), 1.4 Auto, or 1.7 SDI engines. They are known for their rear lights, which have a tinted indicator lense. Inside they have a perforated leather steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake; and green coloured seat inserts. Outside, they have colour coded mirrors, door handles, bump strips, and alloy wheels. Also they have a 14" steel spare, and out 2 1.4's have the 'BBY' engine code. I hope this helps to clear up the 'Cambridge lupo' issue. ****Adam I've just noticed your post in this thread, yes this was the green Loop SE at the North East Meet. BTW you have the best colour for the GTI IMO.
  14. As far as I know... They are famous for their rear lights, which have a tinted indicator lense. Outside, they have colour coded mirrors, door handles, bump strips, and alloy wheels. I hope this helps to clear up the 'Cambridge lupo' issue. (I should know as come monday there will be two sat on my drive! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> )
  15. The mudflaps look spot on, I think they make a big difference style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> . (I got some a couple of weeks back too style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> ) Also yes your exhaust does look a bit low doesnt it. See what the stealers have to say. Have you thought about a boot spoiler? They are nice and subtle (imo), but it looks like you have the early model with the solid headrests, so you might have to move your aerial so you can open the boot style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> . Nice first car though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  16. Hello again people, my internet seems to be working now so I can post again. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Thanks for all the replies. I've booked my pass plus course, so hopefully that will lower my insurance. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> But now I need something to insure. Well there's a black 1.4 SE Lupo, 30K, on autotrader, priced at £3195, which seems like a very, very good price. I've spoken to the guy about the car, he said the first owner was the dealer, and its got a full dealer service history, but he didn't seem to know too much else. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Really I need to see the car, but it's 112 miles away, so I'd have to go next weekend. Im wondering if its too good to be true; its £1,500 cheaper than any other 1.4SE's I've seen. Does anyone know about this car, or is there a way I can check to find if its genuine (HPI check?), because if it is it might be a really good buy.
  17. Yeah the insurance is part of the problem. I got some quotes a while ago from confused.com, and the SE was £2000, the TDI £2,500, and the sport £3000. Ill have to get some up to date ones. I really like the idea of the remapped TDI though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  18. Well I've passed my driving test now, style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> so I'm officially Lupo hunting style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I've always wanted a Lupo 1.4 SE (fresco green with the 'cambridge' lights), so last october when the time came to change the car my mam bought one, with the plan for me to get it when I passed my test. But she feels the Lupo love too, so should I find a replacement Lupo (either a TDI or Sport), and I get the 'SE', or should I get my own 1.4 SE in black (so we'd both have Lupo 1.4 SE's style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> ) Well if anyone's got a low mileage TDI or Sport they're thinking of selling let me know. I'd like to know what you guys think style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Thanks Jon

Anyone else notice that that car park is in the background of the ITV local news?! Must be a webcam somewhere. Some really nice cars there, also never seen a MK 1 cabby in the metal before, style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

Wow it looks like quite a few people are going to this. Im up in newcastle shopping tomorrow with mother bear so we might come along. Failed my test style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> last monday so I wont be driving but wouldn't mind meeting other Lupo owners/cars if thats OK. If u see a Lupo SE looking lost it'll probably be us!
  22. Thanks for the number. I phoned the guy, it is him who has the Lupo, but he said it's too far for him to travel style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> . I guess he's got a lot of work closer to home.
  23. If you could get the name/ number that would be great style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> . Im going on holiday for a week tomorrow so no rush, Ill leave it till I get back
  24. Wow a Lupo GTI as a learner car! That would be so cool... What do you mean by vandalised? Hope it wasnt serious style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Thanks for the replies. A lupo or arosa would be great to learn in. I think I read on here somewhere that there was a guy in Hartlepool who used one?
  25. Hi everyone, I've just joined the club and I share your love of the Lupo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Does anybody know if there are any driving instructors in the North East, around Teesside that use a lupo as their learner car? My mam's got a Lupo, she loves it, it's easy to drive. If anyone knows any I would be grateful for any replies. Thanks.
