  2. Yeah cheers. Defo the cable. A mates dad has a recovery truck so he lifted the car for me. Hopefully get a new cable tomorrow provided the only place open has one on stock that is. Cheers for the reply btw
  3. bit of a problem here folks. Im currently sitting on the side of the road awaiting recovery. I had pulled up to a set of lights and just as i pressed the clutch in to take off it felt like a snap and my clutch pedal just started to flap about. Does anyone know if the clutch in my model is just cable driven or have i got bigger problems to worry about? The car is a 2000 1.4s Thanks in advance

  12. So I have a situation where I was in selling a set of rims to a friend, but the last few times we have spoke about it he let me down. I went to advertise them elsewhere and all of a sudden he's freaking out. I had put the price up as when I was preping the rims for sale they were worth more than I first thought due to being of a higher spec ie 8.5j x 15 instead of 7j (rare as rocking horse **** for Caliber Dub rims) and now he is putting the guilt trip on me to sell them at the price we had agreed originally. What would you guys do... at the end of the day he is a mate, but money is money
  13. Yeah unfortunately, I'll get a pic up for you
  14. its like asking how long is a piece of string mate. All depends on what material and the person doing it. DIY and di-noch expect to pay around 60 quid on materials getting someone to do it for you could be anywhere between 80 - 150. Mine cost 80 but that was mates rates
  15. Ok so thought it was about time I started putting my pics and updates into a build thread so here is what I have so far (not a lot but we'll see what happens lol) ... I apologise in advance for the quality of the pics as they are pulled from different sources. The car: 2000, Soft blue 1.4 16v This is how the car looked when I first bought it, running TA Technix coilovers and 15" Caliber Dub rims with 165 50 Bridgestone Potenza's The first thing I done was to remove the pig ugly vinyl wrap from the roof Next on the agenda was to give the car and paintwork a good seeing to Wasnt really happy with the finish so the the next day I done it all over again and a good rub down with a clay bar and a bit of T.cut to try and even out some of the paintwork...... Much better I also de tangoed the front indicators but forgot to take pics. When I removed the wrap from the roof I noticed it had been there to hide a few spots of rust down the rain gutters so need to do something about it. I wanted to get the whole roof sprayed again but couldn't do without the car while the work was being done as its my daily driver and I work in the arse end of nowhere so I decided to re wrap it. I rubbed the affected areas down with and applied some lacquer to seal the areas then took it down to my mate who has a graphics company and got him to do the business. I was originally going to go for a silver carbon wrap but at the last minute changed my mind and went for an anthracite jobbie. (glad I did tbh) At the same time as getting the roof done I asked my mate to do me a couple of decals up for the wings..... 1942 KDF logo before the yanks came in at the end of the war and redone it as it was deemed to Nazi like A pic from Dubshed 2012 A few weeks earlier I picked up a set of these, BMW mini pepperpots knowing that they were a similar stud pattern and offset but had my heart set on painting the rims that were already on the car and just left them lying in my garage. Trial fitted to the car but the centre bores were way way off In the end I decided to fit them and sent them off to a local engineering outfit to get the centre's milled to fit the hub's Back from milling and a quick clean Then it was off to the local tyre shop to get some rubber on them. I decided I didnt want to have a stretch on them as tyres would have cost a fortune due to the fact that the new rims are only 5.5j. Went for 175/55/15 on the rear and 165/50/15 on the fronts to give a slight drag look. Also fitted 15mm spacers to the rear to give it a staggered look. I had the front raised by about an inch but plan to drop it back down again through the week So this is where I'm at so far, will keep this thread updated as thing progress...
  16. That's some boast to be able to have lol, I wasn't about the car too much as I didn't really know anyone there and didn't want to look like a plank lol Oh and thanks daddy.... Sounds wrong lol

  18. Some pics from this year's Dubshed in Belfast, cracking day, weather was great, massive turn out and some mint motors what more can you ask for I ran out of room on my memory card so couldn't get a pic of everything so here is a cross section of what was on show. I'll start with the Lupo's and Arosa's,(sorry if I missed anyone's) then the rest. Think we all know this one and a well deserved win in class and a sneaky extra one of mine lol
  19. x 2, shame I never got to meet you, cruised past your car a brave few times but you must have been hiding lol
