  4. i used to take my own engine oil when the car went for a service, i used mobil 1, but then once the car got a wee bit older and had like 50k on the clock i used the vw stuff as it is thicker which is better for high mileage engines, the car is now on 74k and its 4yrs old!
  5. yes the k&n will fit. the throttle body diameter is the same. 100% sure.
  6. i have had ebc pads in the past, in fact i have had 2 sets, they are good as they provide very very little dust and the performed well which isgood. i am now using some ferodo pads which aren't too bad, but lots of dust i have heard that pagid fast road pads are really wicked !

  15. mk4 polos don't have a 1.7 sdi. they only came with a 1.9 diesel engine
  16. ok my choice would be this one border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> its the poineer 7500mp, mp3 player etc, looks nice and works well, i have had poineer for a while now and i have had no problems with them!! apline are much better if sound is a important issue as they are great sounding headunits but don't look as good as the poineer. [blind date - 'our' graham voice] so lynsey which one will it be?! stereo no.1 who comes from the pioneer factory who has sexy good looks with an average voice or will it be stereo no.2 who looks like a right ugly minger but hasa truely good voice and big 'buttons' for you to play with.................the choice is yours......... [blind date - 'our' graham voice] [blind date - cilla black voice] thanks graham....so lynsey which of our lovely stereos are you going to pick? de dum de dum dem <----music tune to blind date!! crap i need to get out more!

  19. also induction kits give less power http://www.porka.net/modules....id=5377
  20. this is a very very common problem with these engines its to dowith the throttle body, either it is dirty and needs a good clean out or it could be a faulty one, check this link out http://www.porka.net/modules....id=9682 also if you do a search for throttle body on that forum you will see loads of posts about it.
  21. yes the disc set up will be the same, i think on the non 16v/gti models the discs are 239mm and 256mm on the 16v/gti models like the polo 16v. to change them its the same as any other car, just whip the pads out, undo the carrier bolts and then wal al! you can bleed the system in the same way as you do a normal car or a mk2 golf.
