  1. £40 for a Beta seems a bit much. I thought that Gammas only went for around £20, and they're the next model up.
  2. He means the widths. Fronts are 7 inches wide and rear wheels are 8 inches wide. Your tyres will fit no problem, with a nice little bit of stretch on the rears, whilst still being withing the manufacturers recommended fitment range.
  3. All car lights have to be marked with a code to show they have been tested and are fit for road usage. I assume it goes for side repeaters too. Maybe not.
  4. Standard is 205/45/15, but virtually everybody changes to 195/45/15 because there's more choice, greater availability and they're loads cheaper. If they're not for a GTI and it's nice and low, 165/50's would give a nice stretch, otherwise, go for the 195/45's. There's no reason to fit anything else.
  5. Mk5 mirrors are a lot bigger so I doubt the indicators will match up. If I was going to do it I'd probably just drill a few holes into the black bits on the bottom of the mirrors and mount some LED's in there. No E-markings or anything though.
  6. I'll answer here too. I had a B&M short shift kit. I'm not sure where to get one because I bought it from a lad on here. It was for a mk4 Golf/Bora/Beetle 1.8T six speed. No mention of Lupo on the packaging but it fitted straight on. It was a replacement gear lever and knob with a shorter throw rather than the bit to sit on top of the gearbox like other quick shifts I've seen.
  7. Depends on the offset. You can work it out from knowing the standard width and offset of wheels.
  8. If you're struggling to get it in, remove the 'arosa' tray from underneath so you can get your hand behind to tuck away cables and things, then refit. I had to do it when fitting my MFD. It's a bit tight behind there!
  9. What make Chinese double din is good, out of interest?
  10. I never had any issues with my MFD. Found the menu's fine and the satnav pretty capable. Chinese double DIN's are cack quality, and nothing looks as OEM as OEM does. I don't like the look of aftermarket stereos and think they are more of a theft target. People also slag off the Audi RNSE units for the same reasons you give, but again, I'm chuffed with mine. Horses for courses, I suppose.
  11. Arosa and Lupo wiring is the same, so fitting should be identical. The MCD is mk4 Golf era, I believe, so no canbus issues. I had an MFD fitted and all it required was a GPS aerial and a plug and play lead. I'm sure there's a how to on here somewhere from years ago by bossjohnc. He had an MCD then upgraded to an MFD.
  12. Sounds like you're volunteering to make one...
  13. No, you'll be fine without it.
  14. If you've already had a remap I think you'll see a benefit even without getting it mapped again.
  15. What if the temperature gauge works intermittently? Is that likely to be the sensor too? I guess so. For £15 I should get it sorted!
  16. They are definitely handed. They slope inwards from the top of the grille to the bottom, because the grille is wider at the top, if that makes any sense
  17. Most people run with nothing with no problems. Suggesting the tie wraps was an extra precaution to help prevent the springs becoming unseated. And I like tie wraps. I kept removed the rings but kept the bases in mine, no tie wraps in sight.
  18. You should punch Chris in the back of the head and ask him next time you see him.
  19. Haha. My Sophie is actually 25. Getting a bit past it, tbh. Rich, Sophie said "get a life, my mk3 Polo is mint". "Get a life" is her token insult when she can't think of anything better to say. We've just returned from the first ever Club Lupo wedding, of the original Club Lupo couple. What a lovely day. Hip hip hooray! Etc, etc.
  20. Ray really does this. What a top chap. He does do other things when you stay over as well though. Terrible, terrible things. But still, pizza and Peroni!
  21. Take the adjuster cups out. Leave the threaded bases in for spring security. Or if you're desperate for the tiny bit extra, take them out too and tie wrap the springs in.
  22. There's an issue with getting the full beam to work properly. You have to hold the stalk on 'flash' to use full beam. Not sure how to sort it. Oh, and Lupo GTI headlights are the best I've ever seen. Proper miss mine.
