  1. I see this about now and again. Looks smart. I think the lad used to be on here but not any more.
  2. I did it. It was a long time ago so I can't offer much help, other than say keep trying. I remember it bing very awkward. You'll also need to bend the hanger brackets and unwrap some of the tape around the lambda sensor so it gives it a bit more length to reach the hole.
  3. Nice shots. Looks like my T-shirt's shrunk a bit though.
  4. Hmmm. Maybe I'll mock it up first. I need some spacers too. My 20mm ones are too big. Maybe 10s or 12s will do.
  5. Found a set of genuine TT wheels for a good price. 19x9 et52. Tyres weren't too clever so needed to look out for some 255/35/19's. Never had to worry when I had the Lupo and brand new premiums were £45! Haha. I was dead set against black wheels, but now they're on I really like them. They need a refurb, I've just touched up the kerbing with a pot of flat black and a brush. Not sure on going for satin black or a dark grey when the time comes. And will have to do the fuel flap too. Also fitted a 4300K HID kit. Took a bit of fannying about to get them working, but since then they've been fine. And fitted some LED sidelights to match the xenon white. Glad to get rid of the poverty lights. Haha. Had the wheels refurbed in satin black and shod with Vredestein 255/35/19's. Painted the fuel flap satin black. Next job is to put black Audi rings on the boot. Have always been a little bit unsure on the totally debadged boot, and now everything else is black I think it would look better. Looks really high here! And the TT and the T5 went to VW Festival. [ur
  6. Surely you'll be able to get Lupo parts easily enough anyway? I'd just go for it. Only 1000 miles. If you were doing that distance around Britain over the course of a weekend you wouldn't even think about it. And it'll be mostly motorway miles so nice and easy on the engine and gearbox. You know if you take spare parts it'll be something else that breaks anyway. Haha.
  7. She was up the duff though, not the most practical car!
  8. Need to keep the high vis vests in the car, not the boot.

That's bossjohnc. He is a moderator on here, but I haven't seen him post for a long time.
  10. I used that same Connects2 lead for my Lupo. I also installed a Gamma/Connects2 iPod setup in my girlfriends old mk3 Polo, her new Beetle, and my mk1 Caddy. And my brother now wants one for his Lupo. It's a good setup, IMO. OEM FTW!
  11. What offset are the wheels? If you're gonna band VW 15" 4x100 steels to 8" then chances are they're going to be far too pokey to fit 195/45's on. G60 Steels end up at et10 once they're banded to 8". There's no such tyre as a 195/40/15. 195/45's look nice on an 8. 185/45's are only available in Nankangs. 175/50's are only in one brand I think, and look really big for the quoted size to me, 165/50's are available in decent Bridgestones, but are a big stretch on an 8.
  12. Stands are first come first served basis. So you need to get together in the morning and park together. Club Lupo used to have a bit of sway with the organisers about the club stand location, due to the number of cars and good reputation, but that's not the case any more... Would be nice to see the reputation return.

I would use something like this to raise the car for speed bumps, not lower it for shows. Means you can run your car low all time but still have a bit of practicality. That's providing it doesn't affect your minimum height in the first place though, like Pete said. Low is for life, not just for shows!
  14. They are 6" wide as standard. Banded wheels are as old as the sun.
  15. 195/55 is massive. I would say rubbing for definite at any height. But I've never heard of anybody running that size on a Lupo. Pokiness should be fine. They should be in the arch easily I would think.
  16. I know that what Sophie said at first, but I was talking about the bit that I've quoted.
  17. He said keep braking, not keep breaking.
  18. Yes, yes, I did have a little bit of work on my diff done Jon, but I like to forget about that... I've never heard of anybody else having the problem though so I disregard it. in fact, I can't actually remember it breaking. I remember getting it fixed, but no idea what the problem was; was it hard to change gear, did it make a noise? I don't know. Seems so long ago! It was so long ago! Anyway, it's gonna be cheaper on fuel and cheaper to run in every single way compared to a mk5 GTI and an M5, so just do it.
  19. It was seven years ago, Max is long gone. See if you can find his build thread in the readers ride section and he might say in there.
  20. I averaged 36mpg in mine with mixed town/motorway/blast driving. Tyres are about £70 for goodyear 195/45/15 I think. Gearboxes are pretty strong, no real known problems with them. The bonnet, front wings and doors are aluminium.
  21. Think they're the same, BBS RC's, but the Anni ones are 18", they are 16".
  22. What were the roads through the villages like after the Buttertubs, Ray? Last time I went they were so full of potholes I could only do about 4mph. I've avoided it since. Bit gutted I missed this, had a busy weekend.
  23. iPhone pics? What's happened to you and your trusty tesco mobile? You've changed. Wheels look good. I assume photos next to the Dune are next?
  24. I would assume he meant Golf R32. They're V6's. I wish I had a super gadget!
  25. I've got one that I need to sell...
