  1. Rudy, are the clips easy to break then to get the rear panels off? I tried to get mine off but they wouldn't budge....didn't want to pull too hard in case it broke off!
  2. It depends on whether you mean European or UK Lupo's? I only know of the UK Spec....and the GTi gets the 8 speaker setup, and every other model gets a 4 speaker setup... But I'm not sure whether you get 2 front and 2 rear, or just the 4 speaker (2xtweet, 2xmid) up front.... And I think Euro spec ones are different....
  3. Not alot is known about the rears, other than there is a Mid and a Tweeter hidden behind that grey mesh next to the rear seats.... I've been told that they were 17cm speakers, but there is no way you'd get 17cm speakers behind that little mesh. I tried to pull the card off to have a look behind, but this damn VW build quality means it stuck fairly firm!

    front disks

As Gordon says, I've been told the Cupra R brakes are the best price vs performance option.... AP Racing brakes are bloody expensive! £1600-£1700 for the kit alone, so your looking at just short of £2k including fitting...

    front disks

I think they will .... I was going to have 280mm discs off a 306GTi on my old 106, and I was told I would need 15" wheels minimum. Seems to be enouhg clearance under the front wheels too. If not, it means you'll just HAVE to go out and buy some 16" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. So that hair cut didn't help to tidy you up much then, Chris style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> And Sam, we all take the piss out of each other here (well, Chris takes more of a ribbing than anyone else, but thats because of what he drives... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) I can take it.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  7. QUOTE(Lupo TDI)Hm...that's no good......! is the VW thingy easy to use? I thought of buying one, as I can't reach my spare tyre because of my amp....Anyway: that tyre is damn expensive! It's a SP 2000 isn't it? And yeah, its easy to use....take the valve (the metal "pin" inside when you take off the cap) out using supplied tool, squeeze in content of bottle, infate tyre using supplied `powered-pump`.... Easy! Tell the tyre people to watch out when they take the tyre off though, the stuff goes EVERYWHERE! And it bloody stinks!
  8. Too late style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> They actually fitted an SP 8000 instead, £102 all in. Almost identical, but it has very small "V" shaped groves running accross the 3 main water channels....I didn't realise they were different until I got home....
  9. As mentioned in http://lupogti.moddedcars.com/mod/ice.htm Fronts are 165mm, but need a Golf Mk4 adaptor plate (or make your own MDF rings) - Tweeters are smaller than they standard 1" ones you get with aftermarket, so are a bugger to fit (read the above site). Not sure about the rear sizes, though? Let me know if you find out what size they are!
  10. Firstly, I have no glovebox in my GTi style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> and they are pretty small anyway, be a tight fit, but then they make a very small PS1 now, so you might make it... Headrests - they are "tubular" ones now, and aren't solid, so you'd have to look at getting some off a Golf, or something similar to replace them.
  11. lol....yeah, Chris, let me drive, I'll show you how cars should be driven style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> (backwards through a hedge, more than likely....)
  12. Feck, Feck Feck. I got a 2" monster nail through my rear tyre, slow puncture, but the tyre is ruined. It had about 80% of its tread left too. So I used that "Tyre Repair" stuff to get me to a garage, but thanks to the tyres rareness, they wont have it until tomorrow, and its going to cost me £105 (171 Euro's) to get it replaced, PLUS the cost of more tyre repair goo from VW. [b:post_uid0]THEN[/b:post_uid0] when I got back into my car, the fucking seat handle fell off that you use to pull the seat forward!!! NOT a good day for me or my car....Bugger.
  13. Or maybe it was your fantastic haircut, that only a `top-down` TT can provide style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  14. What about heat? 3 amps all stacked pretty closely.... may get a little warm in there? I'm sure its been thought of by your man style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> but I just wondered how it was goin to work?
  15. I'm down in Birmingham, West Bromwich way.... And did Chris drive down to you? Hey, Chris, come down my way, I wanna go in your TT style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  16. You'll be the pioneer style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> if it all goes wrong, we'll know not to attempt it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Good luck with it, I'm a sceptic so I cant see how in the world your going to get 2x10" subs, 3 Amps and a BassCube in a space that size... Will be good if it works though! Keep us informed, eh?
  17. *sharp intake of breath* style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I doublt you'll get both of the subs in the boot....you might be able to get the one in....but doubtful you'll get two in, even if they are both 8" Subs. Why 3 Amps? You could get 1, or maybe 2 at a push in the boot depending one they size of your subs. Bugger, I've just realised you've got a basscube too! Er...baisicially, this aint all gonna fit. I reckon your looking at 1 sub and 1 amp in the boot without cramming them in too tightly....Your only option is to rip out the back seats...or lose some of the ICE....
  18. As mentioned, I think its a bit far for me, but I'll see what pans out.
  19. Ben (106_Rallye) mentioned that, saying about me, him and Jim meeting up (the `Zetec-S` Induction kit thread) I thought he was just joking. I will check it out. Will you be going?
  20. Humble Lupo owner style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> You are right, the CAT is a major `bottle-neck`, and gains of ~5bhp can be unleashed by removing the CAT. Also improves throttle response. The same goes for induction kits and exhausts. They are more free flowing, allowing gases to flow in and out of the engine more easily, allowing the engine to breath! Imagine trying to run with a stuffed up nose - makes it more difficult...(you could make a joke about "exhaust" gases here too, but I won't style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) The gains are more along the lines of responsiveness rather than BHP. As for the ECU, it should automatically adjust the fuel/air ratio mixture to keep them balanced. I say "should"....I'm not totally sure.
  21. DEAR Axel style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> No, your ECU does not need to be reprogrammed for either an exhaust or Induction kit. Exhausts don't need to be "compatible" with K&N because they are at opposite ends of the combustion process and aren't directly linked to each other. Performance Exhausts are "plug and play" (if they were made by Microsoft, that is) - you just stick em on, and away you go! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> If you have a CAT replacement (or by pass) then it might need `re-tuning`....no sure. Doubt it though.
  22. Yeah, I got rid of the need to log in for the "Sale" and "Wanted" sections, so people don't register just to post once.... I'll find out what model it is tomorrow, unless you can remember Chris? I think the unit might be on their site. VW also do an `in-dash` changer, but I'd hate to think how much they will charge for it... Edited By MattyB on April 14 2002 at 23:14
  23. Whoops... I hope it doesn't rain!

    K&N MK2 - K&N
