  1. Hi, I'm having trouble with my lupos fuel injectors (short to earth) the garage has told me that the fuel pump relay needs changing, Has anyone changed their relay and can they give my any help/ how to guide on how to change it? Thanks in advance for your help Steve
  2. My oil breather pipe connected to my air box has what looks like custard colour gunk, is there anyway I can clean it without taking it off? Cheers Steve
  3. Thanks Defcon5 Do you know what relay number it would be? I'm thinking of checking the fuse, relay then wiring, am I heading in the right direction? Has anyone had the same problem and have been able to fix it?
  4. *01252 - injector cylinder 4 short circuit to ground intermittent
  5. I'm after some help, on the way home from work last night the car was juddering like mad when I tried to put my foot down, it happened at both high and low speeds and the engine sounds like it's about to cut out when I'm in traffic. When I got home, opened the bonnet to have a look, no oil in spark wells, no gunk around the oil filler cap, all I found was what looked like custard in the oil breather pipe that is attached to the air box, I cleaned it out the best I could and took it to the local garage this morning, I explained what has been happening, they have scanned the car and the following faults have appeared: 01249 - injector cylinder 1 short to ground intermittent 01250 - injector cylinder 2 short to ground intermittent 01251 - injector cylinder 3 short to ground intermittent 01251 - injector cylinder 4 short to ground intermittent The garage has told me it's either the fuel pump or the ecu. The juddering is driving me mad, had anyone ever had this problem and what did you do to fix it? Thanks for your help Steve
  6. Hi, I'm after some advice, over the last couple of weeks my lupo has been juddering. Whenever I put my foot down, either for speed or to get up a hill, it starts to judder and feels like it's about to stall, the car is also feeling sluggish. I've checked for error codes by my £10 handheld code reader from flee bay but no codes show up. Would this be a sign that the coil pack and HT leads need replacing? If so, is it difficult to change a coil pack? I've had a quick look under the bonnet at the coil pack and from what I've seen there four bolts holding the coil pack, and a black plug at the back of the coil pack. Would I have to disconnect the battery to change the coil pack? Any help or advise would be great. Cheers Steve
  7. Hi, I bought my lupo 2 years ago and the coolant gauge has never worked, so afew weeks ago I changed the coolant temp sensor, now the gauge works but not as I expected.... If I'm driving at 60mph the temp drops to just above 70, when I'm at a stand still the temp rises to 90 which is normal. Am I right in thinking that the thermostat needs replacing? Will there be much harm leaving it the way it is? Does anyone have a guide in replacing the thermostat or any advice? Do I need to replace just the thermostat or the thermostat and housing? do you lose much coolant when replacing the thermostat? Thanks for your help
  8. if you have a local cider press near by they will take your apples off you and in return give you a few bottles/crates of cider (depending on how many apples you give them) they might take your pears and berries to add as flavour
  9. keep us updated as my rad was leaking, used radweld, but in time will have to replace it so I would be interested in how you got on
  10. I agree, take the front off as it will give you all the space you need to take out the old rad and replace with the new one
  11. I finally changed the sensor yesterday in the rain, I just ended up pulling the black c clip off and pulling the old sensor out still attached to the wiring and let the whole tank drain into a bucket I placed underneath. I plugged the new sensor in, put the new o ring on and slotted in back in then locking it in with the black c clip and filled the tank with g12. The car for the first few minutes sounded rough, but then went back to normal, scanned for codes and none have appeared. Thanks for the help guys
  12. Do you lose much fluid when switching the sensors? Ive got a 1.5L bottle of G12, just trying to G myself up for it
  13. Hi All, My coolant temp sensor has never fully worked, it works from time to time but usually drops to 70 or even 0 as im driving. Im in 2 minds weather to change it or not, ive had a look in the engine bay at the sensor but it looks like its in a tricky place, I have a ahw engine. Has anyone changed this sensor for this type of engine? Do I really need to change it and if I do would I notice any difference? the engine is abit juddery at the moment, would the temp sensor be the cause of this? Any help would be great
  14. holy s**t! lucky that wheel didnt come off as you was doing 60mph
  15. with radweld, all you have to do is pure it into the coolant tank and leave the car running for 10 mins
