Oh dear, had my Lupo just over a month. I have had it in the garage 4 times for the fuel emmissions light. Had both lambda sensors replaced and it came on again. They have now confirmed my seals have gone (cause the previous owner drove with no oil until the oil light came on). Have quoted me approx £800 but cant confirm if any more damage done until they strip engine. Not under VW warranty. Has anyone else had this problem? They (an 2 other garages) have suggested i have the light turned out and sell to a garage asap. any advice please, i'm gutted :-( sorry i meant exhaust emissions light...............

The lovely car doctor has looked at my Lupo and there was a sensor that hadn't been turned back on following the exhaust being fitted. He charged me £20 for the privellage of fixing it and hey presto he says it should be OK. The oil is another issue - lucky this warning light came on or it may have been a few more days until i checked it, by which time i probably would have blown my car up! Thanks for all your help, C.

Oh my gosh, my boyfirend has just checked the oil and the dipstick is dry - obviously i am a dipstick for not checking it sooner. Could this explain the light??!!! He is going to put oil in it for me asap and hopefully the light will go out. Why would the oil light not come on though? Thanks, C

Hi, I got my 1st Lupo on Sat and the Exhaust Emission warning light has come on today! I think this light came on for the previous owner too (i am trying to get in touch) and he had the front and rear parts of exhaust replaced. Sorry for lack of technical terms but i am a girl and know v little! I am hoping therefore that there is a fault with the sensor and not the exhaust emissions. It has just passed an MOT and the exhaust was done within the last month. I know it should still be under warranty but the garage is a fair distance from me and i just wondered if someone could tell me if the car is safe to drive, what i should do (hopefully not have to go to a VW dealer!) and if i am damaging the car by continuing to drive it whilst the light is on.
