  1. This is going to take a lot of work. The offset is prob a tad high to avoid clearance on the inside but if you go much lower they will rub even if the arches are pulled as well as rolled. Best bet is to trial fit so you will see the probs you'll encounter. I wouldn't buy the wheels first then get them to fit cos I'm still not convinced it's possible. Just for your info I have 8x16 with 195/40's on the back of my gti with rolled arches running et 30 and wound down on coiles and I have about 2mm clearance!!
  2. Very nice mate. We all love our loops but beemers are in a different league to anything VAG when it comes to the driving experience. We will be trading our mk4 golf in for another E46 in April cos I miss my old 328 so much!!
  3. 5x100 will be loads cheaper to do as 4x100 to 5x112 have to be custom made at around 400 dabs a set!!
  4. Offset is too high. You'll need spacers to clear suspension and brake calipers
  5. Typical et is 52 but we found with Andy's above that his fronts are about et 65 ish which is why he's running 30mm on the front.
  6. In that case I'd recommend using bridgestones on the back as they are a narrower tyre than nangkangs even in the same size there is quite a difference. This would give you that extra clearance but maintain your stance. Alternatively you could get your arches rolled.
  7. That box looks to be a perfect fit. Good job

    BBS Mmmmm!

Very nice but 8" wide would look infinitely better imo
  9. If you're running 165/50s and you space them well at the back and have the car low enough then it's a winning formula so I'd say if it aint broke.... Too many people try to be 'different' and end up with baloon tyres and a poop stance and just ruin the look altogether. If you still want single piece I'd say TH mono's if you really want a change
  10. Very nice. Any chance of a sound clip of the car in action. My only concern from a aftermarket exhaust on a normally aspirated car is that they tend to be a bit boomy around 3-4000 rpm. Would be interested to see if this is different
  11. I bet the rears will catch even if it's not overly low. 8.5's are very wide with such a low offset. Also there's no way that an 8J rim with an et of 25 will sit the same as a bathurst which are et 43 odd and only 6.5" wide. The bathursts will sit a good 2" further into the car. You then mention they are et 40. If this is the case then an 8j and an 8.5j with such a high offset will probably catch your coilovers on the inside. I reckon minimum offset for this width would need to be 35 to clear the inside but much lower than that and you'll get scrubbage. It's a finely balanced art!!
  12. My drive in summer 06. Lupo has seen a few changes since and the A2 has now made way for another mk4

Really not sure on an sdi mate. my arches are rolled, running 8's all round wound well down. If you want to go low you will need the rears rolled i reckon
  14. Its from the experience of two close friends - one had the best kit ray vern do fitted to his bora and it handled about the same as a standard car and the other fitted it to his mk4 golf and basically ruined the car as it handled terribly. He also knackered his rear quarters as he accidentally caught the switch on the moved and dumped the rear end.
