  1. Lal B3N got the point. D2S bulbs will not fit in non-GTI lupos. unless u do what I did... check this out if u got few mins. There are some info about my mod of the headlight. Mine is on sale now. Buy it will save ur time and money. I guarantee the light performance of this setup is better than any after market HID stuff. Ever got flashed by high spec Passat/A4/A6 with Bi-xenon headlight? Imagine u have that light performance in ur lupo.
  2. ty,it was 2 month ago. My next door neighbor told me when she saw the car on fire and windows glass rolling down slowly. That sounds very creepy scene to imagine... Well loved little car... we will still miss it after many many years.
  3. Sadly. The car is GONE(burn out by some kids, they took the headunit). >_< All head light are in perfect condition. Will fit all lupos(ex Gti) without any mod. My lupo passed the MOT with those headlight on. I am looking for 250 pounds for the pair of bi-xenon projector headlight. (Cost me round 300pound for the parts + many hours of work.) D2S HID bulbs, LED strips all includes. 90% new. let me know if anyone want more info.
  4. Easyway to get the projector are pick them up from crushed cars(with Bi-Xenon Projector build in)...... The aftermarket Hid kits for lupo got H4 Xenon bulb in there... will not fit in any Bi-Xenon projector. As those Bi-Xenon projector use D2S or D4S. I got those projectors from HK about 50 quids each.
  5. Well, how much it cost for gti light units? My parts only cost under 300quids... And I got all the fun of DIY =P
  6. To split the headlight, cover the front clear lens with cling film 1st. You will need a wide flat screw driver handy. Then use hot air gun (or hair dryer) blow the edge of the headlight until the glue melt. That is easier and safe than oven.
  7. Had some H4 Xenon bulbs from ebay installed before. Light focus badly with lupo's reflector. Have to change back to original to pass M.O.T
  8. Quick update: Today the car passed the M.O.T with these Bi-Xenon headlight.
  9. croakey, Here is you will need for the job. 2 x Bi-xenon Projectors about 50-120, 2 x D2S bulb 40-70, 2 x Ballast 30-80 Others parts 20 quids Also a set of spare headlight 90 quids from TPS while you do the mod... -------could use for pass MOT as well. just in case----------- price are differ depends source and brand. My friend got these parts from H.K. The LHD light pattens are the same.
  10. The Cambridge light will reduce the light output I guess. I will spend 70 pound buy 100s of LED and fit them in the original rear light...
  11. On the rear, you have to cut it open... it was plastic welded in most case. Good luck
  12. Hi croakey, I parked the car facing a wall and mark down the original light position with some marking tape... Then did drill few holes on the reflector to fix the Bi-xenon lens. Check the last picture I post for the Golf headlight. The reflector and lens was tested on the car before I put silicon glue between reflector and lens. Of course the headlight alway adjustable with the leveler in cabin or the white plastic screws on the headlight unit itself. The ballast unit wasn't a problem. There are planty of space in the 1.4S engine bay for that Thank you for reading.
  13. I have a Lupo S, V reg 99 1.4. Crunching into reverse, hard to engage first. Took off the cover underneath found the pedal box got a 1cm crack. Been to Benfield Volkswagen, Newcastle upon Tyne (Scotswood Road) today, got told goodwill only happen to cars less than 5 years old. They said few lupo owners been there before, none of them get it done FOC... Just phoned VW Customer Care on 0800 0833 920. Answer are the same... PS: Benfield Volkswagen just called me: price the job for 466.xx pound. They said gonna be a six hours job. They say the part will cost 40 quid. So... the that works out (466-40)/6 = 71 quid per hour!!!
  14. marcusgrant, here is some picture of the lupo I took this afternoon,Hope you likes it And a unfinished mod picture from a MK4 golf
