  1. My car was 7 years 10 months old when mine went and had a full service history with a vw dealership and they still told me they wouldn't do it as a goodwill gesture was proper ragin about it!!! also it was just the stearing column that had to come out
  2. The bases of them need to be modified a bit but they'll definitely fit =D
  3. Yeah man totally agree. The jvc has the usb input at the back and can be run through to the bit under the steering wheel. Hides ipod/cables nicely
  4. Have you bought it yet? Cos if not you could just buy it from rclick. they give you fitting instructions and if you tell them what car you have they'll give u a wiring diagram for it. They're pretty straight forward and only take a couple of hours to fit. I fitted one recently so if you try it and run into trouble let me know and i'll try give u a hand
  5. I dont know much about the alpine but id definitely recommend the jvc avx730. Ive been running it in my car for about a year now and cant fault it at all. It costs around £350 i think...cant remember the exact price. Type it into google or caraudiodirect.co.uk and im sure youll find it mate
  6. I know you've said you gonna put them in the back door cards but would it not be easier to just get a stealth shelf and stick 2 coaxials in that way? Ive done that in my car and it sounds bangin' the coaxials give out quite a bit of bass aswell...
  7. Did you get the pedal box fixed mate? If so did you try and get it through the VW warranty thing...mines went about a month ago and vw said they wouldn't fix it on the warranty
  8. Here you go mate, this is mines dropped 40mm...
  9. I would of thought you could just cut a hole for it and use a wire connector to take a feed from the light at the front? Shouldnt think it''l be that hard to do...let us know how you get on mate
  10. Its not too hard mate. Did mines a few days ago in black vinyl and turned out brilliant! Only thing is though, as someone said before, you need to make sure you use heat resistant adhesive cos I did it the first time round with stuff from halfords and it sagged down and was touching my head after only 2 days lol :/ the stuff i used was: http://www.ebay.co.u...f#ht_1425wt_905 The headlining comes off pretty easily... just take out the grab handles out (two screws in each) and the rear a pillars just pull straight off. The only tricky bit is getting the sun visors off cos where the sunvisor pops in and out there's a plastic cover which needs to be unclipped. The hinge just unscrews and needs wiggled around and eventually it'll come free. Then pull out the interior light (just pulls out) and unplug the back part. Also when you look at the glue you might want to buy 2 cans cos i only bought one and dont have enough to do the A pillars... Hope this helps mate! Get photos up when your done
  11. Hey, man. Was just wondering whether you ended up buying this kit?? Just cos i'm looking for a conversion kit too Cheers mate
  12. Hey, sorry for the rediculously late reply!! Problem finally solved, the issue was that the jvc head unit that i had recommended the power connections be switched to match the vw resulting in the remote power being on constantly. It seems to be quite a common thing when trying to connect to volkswagen's wiring harnesses. Cheers for all your help!!!!!
  13. Hey, Basically i've hooked up my sub but it constantly drains my battery. I've connected it to the battery and to the remote power but it still drains my battery. Anyone had problems like this before?? Any advice is welcome!!
  14. Cheers mate for your suggestions but i'm not too sure on hiding the exhaust, i'm thinkin that putting in a fairly subtle, yet noticeable, one would just add that little extra to the overall look.
  15. To be honest im not really wanting to slam it, i've already gave a 40mm drop. The reason for only goin 40mm is that all im really looking for is for the wheels to fill the arches. But yeah OEM's look pretty good. Cheers for the advice!!
  16. Hey, I've decided to start modifying my lupo So far i have put in a touch screen double din jvc head unit and fitted it with alpine speakers (and tweeters), i've lowered it 40mm and tinted the windows. I've also ordered a sub and amp which should be here soon. I still want to get a nice exhaust, mayby paint the bumpers and put on new alloys. The alloys i've seen are dotz mugello's (16's). I was just hoping for any suggestions on which alloys to go for and/or see what people think of the mugello's?? All suggestions welcome =D
