  1. If you think the Arosa brakes are bad you try a MK3 Polo... I was lucky and the dealer fitted new brake disks and pads before I picked up car @16K. See how they wear. Silver!
  2. Found ELSAwin manual on eBay for 4.99. Seems cheap... wonder what will pop through the door. Thanks for the pointer! Silver!
  3. And mine... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> ...soon to have new boots! (my 14" BBS topic) Silver!
  4. Well, here goes for the before pics... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> ...and one of the Seat Alana head unit in situ... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> Well OK then 2! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> Haven't got round to putting my new wheels on yet, weather, crimbo shopping, work, studying... but am off work for 2 weeks over Xmas so will get them done then and post the after pics. Also going to spend the time to debadge the boot and save up for that all important 60mm drop! I was also thinking of a debadged honeycomb grill, but am not sure. Opinions? Silver!
  5. Ta BV! I'll go seek... Silver!
  6. Nice, does the deflector have a makers mark? Silver!
  7. Nice. Wheels look good on your colour. Is that a sunroof wind deflector (or whatever you call it) on your roof?? I have a factory fitted elec sunroof on my Arosa and it's quite noisy at any speed. Interested in one of these. Where did you get it, if it is and you bought it??? Silver!
  8. Excellent job... ...ignore those picky-b's up there ? /\ /\ style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  9. Will do. I'll put some before's on too as currently I have Oz Saturn, though only 13 inch with standard skinny tyres as they were taken from Polo Genesis. I quite like the look of the Saturns on the car, so I'll maybe get them refurbed and put some 185/60 rubber. There's a nice C2 GT in silver with off-white alloy's sits in the car park at work so a bit of photoshopping to see what it'll look like on the Arosa and maybe... Silver!
  10. Yeah, but shoot between Glasgow and Edinburgh lots to music gigs. So I'll post a piccie when I get my new wheels on, so if you see me FLASH! Silver!
  11. Hi, Anybody recommend a good Arosa workshop manual? Silver!
  12. Wheels arrived on Monday... As promised by seller... not disappointed! Good refurb' job that the seller provided the invoice/receipt for. Tyres also in good nick. Just got to get them on. Hoped to get them on on Sat, but weather was freezing! Just have to wait 'til next weekend now. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Just have to think about 45 or 60 mm drop... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> Silver!

    tyre size

I was looking for tyre sizes for 14" rims as I've just bought a set with 185/60 tyres to see if they would be ok on my arosa 1.0MPi. I found a website, american I think, that warned about more than 3% added to the rolling diameter could effect the brakes. The site below isn't that one, but it's good for doing tyre size comparisons http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html ...and this one gives tyre sizes based on whatever you put in http://www.dsm.org/tools/tiresize.htm ...and here's the one with the 3% warning (found it!!) http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
  14. Subtle... I like the look of your Arosa. Have you got any bigger piccies? I can't find any posted on the forum. Silver!
  15. V/Lucky CD player flew straight! Must have been well designed aerodynamically! Silver!
  16. 60... sounds interesting. 120... bit much for an oldie... ...it's not just my car that's silver!!! Silver!
  17. Yes, but we have speed humps in Perth! So it's a compromise, maybe 45mm! Silver!
  18. Brechin, though I'm not a Brechiner!!!!! Worse - an Englishman in scotland! Now working and livin' in Perth. Silver!
  19. Love your Lupo Tigz, I'd love to go that low, but not practical for me, so 40mm drop will be max! And I need boot space, so no thumping bass! I've seen you guys referring to a "tyre size advisor". Which one do you use? I found one at: http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html which seems pretty good. And also a site that advises what wheel fitments most cars use http://www.alloyguide.co.uk/ Silver!
  20. That is one sweet motor car! Silver!
  21. No... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> ...like this!!! Silver!
  22. Hey, just bought a set of refurbed 14" BBS from eBay. Checked details and they will fit straight on with no prob's. They are currently wearing 185/60 rubber. Will this effect the final drive much? I am looking to drop the car 40mm after winter, so what size tyres are recommended for 14" rims I can see that 185/55/14 or 195/50/14 is pretty close to the standard skinnies. I feel the gearing on the Arosa 1.0MPi is pretty low anyhow, so the 185s shouldn't be too far out. Any input welcome... Silver!
  23. I used to live in Angus just south of Aberdeen... A pal at work had the bonnet of his RS Turbo keyed. Not to bad, but still bad enough. Not covered by his insurance! (excess!) A coule of months later he got a stone chip in his screen, covered by his insurance. On advice of screen fitter he claimed scratches as damage caused at same time as screen damage. Hey Ho... bonnet and wings resprayed under windscreen damage insurance, where the excess was only £50. Same fitter also came to renew my girlfriends screen of her Polo with a chip. I asked about cost of replacement of a bonded rear screen in a MkII Polo GT as the seal had gone. His advice... get someone to throw a brick through it (after putting a blanket inside to collect glass and said brick and claim against windscreen insurance... Not sure if the guy came from Aberdeen or Dundee, but if you've got a stone chip, or want to get one... Silver!
  24. OOps... never read it correctly!! Numpty me!

    Springs

May sound silly, but does the GTi not leave the factory lower than an 1.0?? Silver!
