  1. I'm a bit new to this, what improvements are there over the standard exhaust from VW? or is that a really silly question?
  2. No, I was wondering about the track width... cheers
  3. Hi sooooo... I maybe replacing the back beam axle ... Is a tdi back axle the same as a gti axle if I swap the hubs over????? cheers
  4. Great stuff, looks great I'll keep my eye open for this one!l on a side note do you know anyone around chertsey that spiders rust proofing work, I just need the cross members doing.....
  5. The lupo looks nice, what miles are you on?
  6. hi all, So, just how important is full VW service history? we all know service history is important but does history from VW make a lot of difference ? my GTI is on 85000, due next service in August (minor)... it has full VW history.. do I keep that up or is the car worth the same from a local garage or specialist??
  7. Hi, please let me know if you have a low mileage low owner lupo gti for sale. I'm in the Surrey area. cheers
  8. Very nice but I don't get where these low mileage Gti s are coming from???
  9. Hi, lim not sure if I'm allowed to do this.. I have no affiliation with the dealer but just thought I'd flag this one up as it looks like a good deal for a nice open air.. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C698736#
  10. Hi all Ok so those who have a Gti this is the code that autoglass uses for the sekurit thinner glass windscreen.. 8560agnvz1a this is only used by autoglass ... They will however tell you that it doesn't exsist and that there's no such thing as thinner glass.. then send them the pic attached.. And tell them they can phone vw if they don't believe you ... they will then order it.... I've had the incorrect one (fy) glass fitted by them and it leaked .. I then got them to fit the proper one above , that one has cracked now and I'm trying to get them to fit it again... But .. They've just turned up with the wrong one .. Again.
  11. Cheers, you were right , broken wire in loom, all fixed now.. But the window has some play in it when it's fully up....
  12. VW are now doing this till Feb 29th, just letting you know...
  13. Yes I think it was! Mines a silver Gti ...
  14. Hi all, so I got my car back, turns out there were faulty wires in the drivers door that's why the regular wasn't working but also replaced the old regulator as it was pretty knackered anyway... but..... i didn't notice before, but when the window is all the way up I can move it within the seals .... Hard to explain, the passenger one grips and there's no movement, but. The drivers doesn't seem to 'seal' .. Chap in the garage says he's baffled and has no idea why it moves... Even tho they fitted it. It's an aftermarket euro car parts regulator, good quality part tho, the chap said it could be this... Should that make a difference? If it does, I'm going to try to send it back , with no box!!! has this happened to anyone else? cheers
  15. Fill up as normal until full, press manic button with tip of nozzle, you'll hear air escaping .. Then fill.
  16. nice one, great to see this thing back on the road, I'll look out for you in Chertsey.....
  17. Yes the motor/switch just makes a quiet click sound.... Up or down. the new motor/ did the same just a slightly different click sound ( because it was a different motor . maybe it could be a wire? im tempted to just cut my losses and give the thing to my local garage. Gotta say every aftermarket part I've seen looks so inferior to the original part, the oem part has the winder and cable all enclosed whereas the aftermarket part just has the winder exposed (like a fishing reel) but vw want £237 for a new regulator and I'm not even sure that's the problem..... yes I think your right I need a multimeter ...?
  18. Yep new motor on the regulator ... ive tried it with just the motor on its own, no regulator attached as well and that just makes a click noise..
  19. Thanks buddy .. No I haven't tried checking the voltage as i don't have the tools. Glad to hear your Gti is back on the road!
  20. Hi all ive read so many threads on this but now I'm at a loss. drivers window is dead. I've taken the reg out, greased it plugged it back in.. Nothing .. Only a clicking noise. tried a new switch.. Nothing. bought a brand new regulator .. Plugged it in to check before fitting it properly .. Nothing . Again only a clicking noise.. Which leads to think maybe there's nothing wrong with the original and there's another problem. The passenger one is fine.. Any ideas .. My patience has run out ..!! Ha ha Cheers
