  1. Looking good mate, liking the wheels. Other photos don't work for me either.. you just need to remove the 'http://' that's in front of the tag.
  2. Don't have any probs with mine. Seems just as good as the micra and clio ones I've driven.

    Jayp's Arosa

Cheers James.. i prefer the Arosa shape to the Lupo too. Will hopefully get some nicer pictures up sometime.. the street isn't exactly nice to look at
  4. Hiyarr My name's Jay.. bought my arosa in May. Had been looking for either an Arosa or a Lupo for a while, saw this one at the side of the road. 2001 - 1.0 - 73k miles - good con - red (best colour ). Phoned the guy up, had a test drive and 1100 quid later it was back at home. Since then it's been a bit of an arse to be honest . To cut a long story short it lost oil pressure, took the head to bits and it was nackered. Was on the look out for a head or 2nd hand engine. Got a call from one of the scrapyards saying an 04 arosa had come in and the engine was up for sale. It had only done 7696 miles from new (old lady owner).. So went up had a look and handed over the 400quid. It's all in now and runs sweet.. like a new motor, (pretty much is new).. Pics. Needs another good polish, especially the back bumper. Plans, hmmm.. not much at the mo really, not much money right now.. but when some comes in i'll hopefully get some 40mm lowering springs on it and buy a set of g60 steels and spray them white. Suppose i could do a few cheapo bits, might add a badgless grill, not sure yet . Hope ya like.

    Helo

Hi everyone. I live in Pembrokeshire, S.Wales and bought my Arosa about 3 months ago. Absolute hoot to drive.. if a bit slow . Its Red (flash red?).. main thing that made me buy it was the bodywork. No rust on the body/chassis. Paint was a bit flat but after a good polish it came up really nice. Test drove it, everything seemed fine, engine pulled well, no problems with the breaks, clutch, gearbox etc. Thought i was on to a proper goodun.. read on. I posted a topic in the Maintenance & Mechanical section a while ago.. The oil light had started to come on once the engine was really hot. Anyway, we replaced the oil pump, had a look at the bottom end, big ends, mains etc. Only slight wear on the big ends, which we were expecting for a car that had done 75,000 miles.. So anyway, last weekend we took it into the garage and started to rip the top end to bits, took the rocker cover off and could see where the problem was right away. (weird design isn't it, the rocker is actually part of the whole top). Well, the cam, (journals?) etc are all majoooorly worn.. running your finger across them there's pretty deep lines across the whole lot.. My dad said that whoever had owned it previously.. hadn't noticed a low oil problem, the oil pump cant have been pumping properly, so the top hadn't been getting much oil.. Nackered it was . So i needed either a new head or complete engine. Good news though, managed to get a hold of an engine from a scrappy.. The thing had only done 7696 miles! It came from an 04 arosa, seems they use the same auc code motor as the 01 i have. Probably owned by an old lady or something..Was amazed at how low the mileage was.. Anyway It's sat over the garage ready to be fitted this Saturday. Will hopefully have a "goodun" after all. Sorry for rambling on
  6. Think its the lighting too. Mine looks like that in certain pictures.
  7. Nice looking Arosa mate, Red ones are the best ones . Whereabouts in Pembrokeshire are you?
  8. All fixed we think! While we were changing the oil pump, we checked the oil filter.. looked fairly new so didn't replace it. Anyway.. when the light came back on, thought we'd change it just in case. So yeh, seems to be fine now . Have take her on a few long runs now, 30 or so miles each way etc and not even a flicker of the oil light !!. Will just keep an eye on it now this next week, but hopefully all sorted.
  9. I live in Pembrokeshire, S. Wales. Have never heard of VAGCOM sorry
  10. Mine had this problem, the back clips hadn't been put on properly. I just undid both of the clips on a dry day and let it clear, then just sealed them back up after. Make sure you clip them both on... one of them is right down the far left of the light and a bit of a sod to clip back on.
  11. Arhh, Was hoping we wouldn't have to take it to Seat :[. Is this likely to cost a lot? Thanks for the help so far.
  12. Heya. After a bit of help guys... I bought an Arosa about a month ago as i was coming up to taking my driving test, used it for a bit of practice before doing so. Anyway, i passed and have now been using the Car daily, however.. the Oil Light flashes.. Its odd though. It comes on when i fire the car up (as it should) and goes out.. as it should.. It seems to come on after the car has been on a bit of a run. Like i went out today, about a 5 mile trip there and back and it came on about a mile from home. Thing is, it only comes on for about 2-3 seconds and then goes back off, then say another quarter mile down the road it comes on again, for another 3 secs and goes off again.. then it won't come on again. First few times it came on, i was quick to pull over and turn the engine off, check oil, then turn her back on again.. Everything is fine though! :[.. The light only comes on for those 3 secs though so before you have time to pull over and switch off, the bugger has already stopped flashing and gone. My Dad is a mechanic and we have so far, replaced the Oil Switch (the light seemed to come on even more with this one, so we went back to original which is actually working as it should), and yesterday.. took it to the garage. We had the sump off, checked the big ends for wear, there was a tiny bit but nothing to cause a problem.. we changed the Oil Pump (thought this was the problem) and then put her all back together, made sure she was all timed up properly etc and gave her some new oil. Thought this would fix it, but no it decided to come on AGAIN. as i said up there ^. Would appreciate any help you can give us, Thankyou. Just to add.. Dad has just asked me if it could be the Oil Pressure Relief Valve? (I dont have a clue what this is ), and hes wondering where it is?. Thanks again.
