  1. Ok, so swapped all the bits off the mrs old engine to the new one... On the new one the crank sensor had been cut, so set about replacing it with the original.. They have an Allen key holding them in.. Took it out the old engine and put it in the new one.. Wouldn't screw in.. And upon further investigation the Threadded part of the screw is a different diameter and the crank sensor out the new engine (with the cut wire) was a square sensor with a locating pin and the one out of our old engine was round with no locating pin.. I've got the old sensor in the new engine now but just wondering if it will read ok?? Anyone know the differences? They both have three wires.. Hope you can help
  2. basically im replacing the engine in the mrs lupo..... just wondering what size the bolts were that went into the output flanges to hold the driveshaft on... as a t40 seems to small and a t45 seems to large..... as at the moment im just waiting to get these off to pull the engine.... hope you can help... :B
  3. see you in your red thannnggggg i got a new motor to :) you copying jamie now? haha x

  4. Yep. Going though, getting a Clio 172.

  6. right basically: i want to know from anyone who has done this or has any knowledge of this. will a gti lump fit into a non gti such as a 1 liter as in engine mounts and that... and im guessing im going to need the loom and ecu aswell out of one. any help would be great as im not currently a lupo owner and would only consider getting one if this was possible as in direct replacement or minor mods... dont mind a bit of welding but just a heads up on anyone whos done this or a polo gti engine ive heard???? cheers
  7. oi you dont start......... the adjuster are coming out... so all will be good and i was in deep thought so nerrr.
  8. in the week we shall drop the back some more xxx im slightly jealous now ;( as i am without a broom broom ;( x
  9. actually think ive just solved my own problem.... i would need a new dual function ballast..... cheers
  10. just had a thought..... if now on this HID kit there is only one function of beam and it is switched by the stalk on the steering coloumn/ so why would i need to get new ballasts? just the dual function bulb would be needed as there is a common feed regardless of what ballast i have? cheers all views welcome as i may be wrong
  11. hi thanks for the speedy reply and yes it is a H4 kit but it isnt a hi/low kit so silly me... as on my nissan its seperate bulbs for hi and low beam never had to deal with H4's before nice one thanks ill have to find one and let you know how it goes
  12. hi when we turn the lights on normally the lights come on but are very bright... when we put the main beam on they cut completely.... i saw when installing them that the plug that goes onto the back of the normal bulb has three pins so does the normal bulb ( a common feed and then hi beam and then low dipped beam) but then the HID connection has only two of them so im guessing it is without the dual function like a regular H4, so would we have to get just a dual fucntion HID bulb or new ballasts also? if anyone could help then nice one
