Forgot to update this. I found the problem shortly after posting.right hand inner cv joint was worn badly in one spot. The only way I could tell was the strip down the cv joints and inspect. No play could be felt when I had the drive shaft in my hands. Replaced the cv cleaned and greased the other 3 and its like a new car

That was my initial thought. All 4 wheels balanced perfectly just recently. I even swaped wheels from donor vehicle.bearings are perfect no noise or play. I even striped off the front brakes so I could get my hand directly onto the hub to feel for any notch but alas they are spot on.

Have done a search on here and there seems to have been a few people with this problem but no definitive answer as to what the cause may be Car is a 2001 lupo Gti with 6 speed box.Basically I'm getting a slight vibration through the steering wheel, which can be felt mthrough the car, under load.its more apparent on smooth surfaces and in higher gears I have tried all the ovbious stuff.swaped wheels.checked suspension components.ran the car on a ramp and everything looks ok.it feels like the vibration is comming from the left hand drive shaft so I swaped it with another one and still the same. Im starting to think its differential/gear box related and I'm about the remove the box to split it and inspect.just said I'd ask on here and see if anybody has has any similar issues

Gearbox mount, yes Drivers side mount and pendulum mount,no
-
Ya they make them alright, same pad does alot of cars across the vag group.is the Cupra caliper not too wide? when I was looking for a caliper that would suit my choice was very limited. most calipers were designed to take a much wider disc than the g60
-
The pad area/disc coverage is actually quite good.i was surprised how well everything fitted togeather but I suppose originally the boxster caliper was on a 290mm disc so only 10mm smaller. Only reason I feel the need for bigger rears is under heavy breaking the rear seems to lift a little.car seemed to be a little more level under breaking with standard setup.mite just throw in a set of pagid rs29's see how it feels.
-
I'm using boxster fronts not rears and I have to admit they are very good it just feels like I need more rear breaking now
-
Yes Custom mounts. standard boxster pads. lupo brake hoses work with different banjo bolts. Second hand calipers which I refurbish and finished in red
-
Or you could do what I did Early boxster front calipers and g60 discs Brakes are fantastic

Alan w started following Fuel trim system too lean and uprated brakes on a lupo 1.4s
-
Check fuel pressure and injectors, not common but either could cause a lean mixture Leak in the intake system is a more likely cause so the best way to locate a leak is to Smoke test for leaks Make sure mixture adaptations are reset after fault is found Have you got the car long? It's possible a previous fault was found and rectified and adaptations were not reset which would cause these faults also
-
Excuse my ignorance but what wheels are they?
-
I'd like to know too.ive tried the above also but to no avail
-
Is there anyone who makes updated engine mounts for Lupo Gti's or even just the dogbone mount.have looked around but can't seem to find any
-
Sorry for the double post. Cool, just finalising the sale of my car hopefully and I'll be in touch.just wanted to check it was still available
