I took the little chip thingy out of the key head to see what would happen when starting. mines the straight key not flip. and the car fired then cut out, so if yours is not even doing that then its not the key. Currently am useing my flat plastic wallet key while a guy in leeds is cutting and cloneing mine so ive got a spare metal key then this plastic key can go back tie wrapped/zip tied back in its hiding place under the car (emergency use) billy

By the time i get to work (half hour) the guage is not got to 70 (quarter) am driving in hat and gloves when it was proper cold last week, i had half the rear seat folded down, i put a small elec blow heater in the boot with a timer plug on the end of an extenstion lead into the garage, set for half hour before i left, the car was the only one in our close free of snow in the mornings. it made it abit more bareable untill the cld set in. Radiator leak? Pinky deposits around main coils on rad.
billy replied to rh203's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
radweld yuk need to re-flush that once you do the rad, which if your topping up with water then your diluting your winter protection. new G12(+) billy -
All done toasty warm now, new thermo, new sensor, new G12. ran up till fan kicked in, which took ages coz its bloody cold out. put my jack handle on the gas and moved the seat up to keep the revs up, heater on hot fan off. kept an eye over it as it got hot and hotter, letting pressure off the cap from time to time. before i put the new one in i boiled them both up in a pan, only the new one opened, so peace of mind job done billy

When i got my car it had a separate key to get in the drivers door and then another key to the ignition, (which did pass door, boot, filler cap) so it had had a replacment in its life. so i swapped the barrel from the pass door, now coz it was a pattern part it was slightly differant to the oem, so i had to swap all the gubbins from lock to lock to make it work in the drivers door, but being a messer its all working so one key does all but pass door. lock removal, open your door and look in the jam for a gromet,in line with the back of the lock, take out, look in the hole you'll see a torx head (cant member the size). with your door handle pulled out with one hand un-do the screw with the other (or have someone to pull it/hold out) the screw will come to an end and then just spin, it stays there in a clip, dont try and take it out or youll probly mess up and it'll fall in the door. you can use the key in the lock to pull it out, barrel as well, or just firm grip and pull. once out let go of the handle now. the coloured cap pulls off and key out. when putting the new one in or the other side one make sure the handle gets pulled out again. billy

Just fitted the TA Technics today, not bad, didnt fit the adjuster cups on the rear, took it for a test drive and the rears are rubbing so they'll be getting fitted 2mora to give me abit of height. fronts are also rubbing and they'll get done aswell. thanks to PHILJ for them. before after kit sprayed up with motorbike chain lube the rear shocks where narrower so i filled the gap with a few washers so they wouldnt pinch
