  1. Hi, Turning 19 in a few months and will soon be looking to sell my car for something a bit quicker. I'm looking to spend ~£6000-7000 I've been looking at; Astra VXR Corsa VXR Mini Cooper S JCW Any other suggestions? Don't really like the FN2s so I ruled them out, something I don't like about the new Clio as well. I thought about the Ford Focus ST but they are proper thirsty in comparison to the astra vxr apparently...

  3. Il let you know soon enough, gonna be doing a build for the missis soon! On the inlet manifold, down by the brake master cylinder, it's a sod to get out but it's doable, either a T20 or T25 can't quite remember, I blasted mine out with brake leaner as it evaporates faster

  4. Not always. I had a non fault claim last year and didn't effect my premiums one bit. Changing your wheels is more likely to affect your premium. Say you get the car repair, and the guy ghosts on you? Who foots the bill? Or it goes to his mate for repair who does a shite job? Say the pain in your neck gets worse, is he going to pay for time of work? You pay your insurance for a reason. Theres no valid reason not to go through insurance, other than to save his NCB (if any)

  5. Thought i'd post in here instead of via pm in case someone else finds it useful. This is copied from a pm I replied to ages ago: The way to do it is to use the formula: Volume = length x breadth x height So what you need to do is draw out a template of the base of the box (use the boot carpet thing as a stencil). Then you measure the length of it and the breadth of it. The thing you are trying to work out is the height of the box. For example, if the length is 50cm and the breadth is 60cm and you also know that the volume is 24.069 then you just plug those numbers into the formula: 24.069 = 50 x 60 x height Height = (24.069 / (50 x 60)) x 10,000 The times by 10,000 puts it all back into centimetres. Also, the measurements were just random figures for the example and yours will be different. Also remember this is the internal volume so if you're using 18mm mdf then you'll need to take this into account when making the box. I feel like a maths teacher haha Not sure if that answers your question?

  7. When i get my coilovers i will be fitting them myself, quick question. Can someone link me to the exact tools i will need to undo the top strut on the fronts. I read something about a swan neck spanner but heard it has to be a deep one. If anyone else has fitted them, any help will be appreciated:)

  11. Not for the tdi. The 9n covers some things but the engine bay is different and tbh haynes isn't all that IMO these days. I'm sure it used to be better? I think it would make for a better site.
