  4. Mine runs at 90 once warmed up. Although it definitely takes a while to get to this. Any less than about 8 miles on open road driving and it's pretty much not gonna get properly warmed up! If you're only doing short journeys (that are also easy work for the engine), it may not be getting chance to get up to 90?

  9. You'd need to get someone to weld the bonnet and then get it sprayed. Personally i'd rather weld my face to my ass.

  12. Been a while! So i managed to find a set of coilovers and a GTI rear beam (Thanks Trucido and CasperGTI, John) for good monies so i got them bought and have had them sat in my garage waiting to go on. Cleaned up the coilovers and repainted the jabbasport rear ARB as it had seen better days! On they go! I then had a small issue. Despite the discs being the same size as my fronts, the callipers are a lot larger so wont take my 13 steels! Massive problem. With the car up on 4 axle stands going nowhere i rung around some buddies and managed to find a set of arosa sport alloys i could use until i can source some wheels for myself! So heres how she sits now! So the spec now stands: GTI rear beam upgrade Goodridge braided brake lines Jabbasport rear ARB Eibach Camber shims set to 2deg Weitec Coilovers I am aware the car is unlevel, literally just wanted to get it down and get inside as it was raining! Also in more childish news, my car hit boobs.

  13. So the Mrs was at work yesterday so I had the afternoon to play on the Puma. I rolled the front end of the car out of the garage, I'd already removed some of engine bay parts to gain better access to the hard to reach areas. I used engine degreaser and APC along with a firm brush and degreased the chassis legs, suspension turrets and behind the rain tray scuttle area. Removed wiper motor assembly for better access behind the scuttle, hoovered this to remove most of the leaves and crap then rinsed and cleaned with APC. Something that had bugged me about the engine bay was a metal bar across the back of the bulk head (not sure what it is or what it does lol) but it was grubby and tarnished- Spend a good hour with an emery cloth followed by Megs metal polish, looks much better now- Hands took a beating... Removed the left hand engine mount as it was also tarnished and grubby, will be degreasing this and painting it later this week- Lots more to come over the next few weeks guys Alex

  15. 16's won't fill the arches if it is standard height. If you can't lower it don't do anything and then you won't get laughed at. I would laugh if I saw it, I'd probably point too. If I felt really malicious I would probably shout abuse.

  16. Save the money, if you cant do it properly to how you want it then dont do it at all. Keep that money to one side and then when your more insurance friendly you can dip into it and make something you'll be happy with, the fact that your asking now suggests you wouldnt be happy if it was left high on a set.
